When will I be hungry

I had my surgery 8 days ago. I still have no appetite. It is all I can do to get my Water and Protein w/ soy milk down. I still have some port pain and the gas is making me crazy. I am drinking with a straw as prescribed, slowly. I am dropping since my surgery on the 17th I have lost 8 lbs.

Should I just go with the flow and be thankfull when it comes to a screeching halt?

Deffinatly be thankful.... for now.Your weight loss will come to a screaching halt...SOON!!!! It took me till I was about a month out and WAME!!!! I was starving!!!! Then thank goodness 2 weeks later I got fill and it saved me!!!!! Good luck and hope you are a great success with your band!!!

Be thankful, I have been hungry (am 7 days post op) and have not dropped ANYTHING. I know that it's my body thinking i'm starving myself and water and all that mess but it's still VERY depressing.

I wasn't very hungry after surgery either. It was hard for me to get everything in that I was suppose to and alot of times I was not able to get all my fluids in but it gets better. I was told not to use a straw though because it causes more gas. Guess every doctor is different. Good luck.

Hmmmmm......I was also told not to ever drink with a straw (too much air).......only things that had a consistency that would GO THROUGH a straw.
