  1. I have had the copper IUD for 10 years now and never knew it was there! I will miss it as it will have to be removed this year sometime...kinda nervouse about that. Needless to say I loved my IUD!
  2. This is the 2nd time I have put a thread out here and gotten NO replies...am I doing something wrong or am I just boring...HA!:notagree
  3. I regret wasting an entire year not dedicating myself to the right choices with my band! But I am on track now...that's what is so great about the band it's ready when you are!
  4. :help: I have had my band one year this month. I have done everything WRONG you could possibly do during this time! Needless to say I have not lost much weight but my eating disorder has thrived. I stopped seeing my Dr for several reasons..I did not care for him and he was 3 hours away. I probably did not care for him because he was not going to buy into my B.S.! Anyway I have been having problems with my band...PBing and getting sick right after meals and it's been getting bad so I found a new Dr. Let me preface this by saying I have been doing alot of work with my therapist the past 6 months and I really feel I am ready to commit to the band now! I now know it's only a tool and only as good as my choices. What questions or subjects should I bring up with my new Dr? My appt is Tues at 10 am. Any advice will be helpful! I really want this to work this time!
  5. This month will be one year since I was banded. Thanks to myself and poor choices I have not been succesful....yet! My last fill was in Jan for 1.3 cc and I have not been the same since. I cannot eat solids without it hurting and I throw up and PB all the time! That is why I turned to the soft food sydrome. I see a new Dr on Tues , any questions I should ask? Do I need a unfill? I hate to be able to eat more than I already do!
  6. I have been banded for a year now and have only lost 15 pounds despite following all the rules! It is very very frustrating! I take a ton of medication and have thyroid issues so I try not to be too hard on myself. One thing that did kill me is the soft food syndrome. My band got out of whack and I turned to high calorie soft foods to get by and it really did me in! I still have high hopes of losing my 100 pounds!
  7. I have had my band for a year now and thank to ME have had very little success. I have been stuggling with throwing up alot and not really being able to eat anything but soft foods. My last fill was in January and was 1,3 cc's which we thought was fine until all this set in. I am getting ready to see a new Dr on Tues and I do not know if I should ask for an unfill or what? I want to start losing weight again with my band so bad that I almost wish I could get a fill and see what happens...not a good idea right? Any suggestions on what I should cover with new the Dr?
  8. Yes I feel bulimic. There is not a day goes by that I do not throw up at least three times a day. The band has been no fun for me! I am living in fear that my band is going to slip before I can find a decent Dr to go back to so that I can get this fixed.
  9. Symphony Milk Chocolate Bars...Wal Mart puts them on sale 4 1/2 pounder sizes for $5.00...Bad News! Anything Ben And Jerry's and those are eaten in sets of 2! Kraft Macaroni and Cheese and Stouffers French Bread Pizza. There is soooooooo much more but that's enough for now. Ya think I have an ISSUE with food or what ?
  10. Great idea for a link! At this stage I could be the poster child! HA!
  11. 1. Changing my MIND to go along with my band! The band is only as good as you THINK it is and I have had alot of problems in that area. If you are not careful you can be negative and put the weight right back on! 2.Developing a work out routine that is interesting enough that I want to stick with it..I get bored easy. 3. Preparing meals for myself, before my band I ate out all the time..boy did that change!
  12. I had forgotten how kind and helpful everyone is on this site! Thank you soo much for everything!
  13. This October will be a year since I was banded. I am ashamed to say I am at the same weight as when I started. I lost 20 pounds at the very start but then put it all back on! I feel soo lost. I am ...and have been having trouble keeping solid food down so I have basicly been living off of ice cream and other soft high calorie foods. If I try to eat normaly I get sick at least 3 times a day. My Dr. who did the procedure is 2 hours away and I do not like him at all! His attitude was he was in it just for the money and basicly after the surgery he could care less, you're on your own! I just want to start fresh to start over and have hope for my band again. I honestly just do not know where to start? Help please?:help:
  14. HA! HA! I am just soo ready to post! One problem ....look at the date!!!! Do you think I have been gone long enough? The good thing is I am back!
  15. I'm just feeling down and like I need a kick in the ole crotch to get me highly motivated again! I am at the three month mark and I stopped losing a month ago! I,m not going to the gym to do the tredmill a half hour a day anymore. I have been going thru hell of an over fill for a month so all my food has been coming up.....but did I loose weight? NO...not with milkshakes around!!! Anyway now that everything is as it shoud be....I want to get back on track and could use a few kindly placed kicks in the crotchs to get this ole girl back in line!:faint:
  16. Ever since my first fill which has been almost a month now, I have not been able to keep solids down no matter how hard I have tried to introduce them! I have PB'd and gotten sick so much I think my band must be swollen because now I am not even doing well on soups. Would I know it if my band had slipped? I have been PB'ing like crazy and I do not see my Dr until the 21st of this month. I called and told them what was going on and that was the earliest they could get me in! Any words of wisdom?
  17. Lithium and Paxil and Xyprexia for me...lions and tigers and bears oh my!
  18. I do not know what has gotten in to me! I did so well right after surgery, right up to the point of eating real food again. I did not have ant have any restriction and wound up bingeing alot! So I thought I will stop that so I got my first fill and ever sice then it has been a battle. I did the 2 days of liquids and then 2 days of mushies...but in those 2 days of mushies I had cheesecake and icecream..alot of it. When I have tried to go back to solid food I have had no luck I have thrown up and now my band has gotten swollen, so now mushies are not really even doing well. What is my stupied answer? Milk shakes to the rescue....NOT GOOD! I was at 228 after surgery I am now at 238 and very mad at myself for the poor choices I have been making!!!! I do not even want to call the Dr about my fill possibly being to tight because I want it tight to get this 10 pounds off i have put back on my self! Can anyone else relate to this self sabatoge?
  19. I was banded 10-03-05 and came thru it with flying colors I am happy to say. During which time I had lost 27 pounds, but when I went to mushies I gained back 9 pounds in a heart beat! I then went for my first fill last Thursday and I took .8 cc's....I am now PBing on everything but liquids and a few mushies! I understand that the restriction will kick in even more in the next few weeks and I am wondering if I will be too tight then? I find myself even PBing on some liquids as well. Not to mention the fact I am staying hungry but I hate to eat because I have gained back the 9 pounds! Anybody else go thru this crazy time too?
  20. I am one month post op and have suddenly been hit with a huge wave of depression. It is so bad I can hardly get myself out of bed! I suffer from bi polar depression anyway but it has been under control with medications for years. It scares me to feel these old feelings! Does it have anything to do with the changes in my body ect ect? I just wondered if anyone else experienced post surgery depression like I am going thru?
  21. I am one month post op and I have lost 27 pounds so far. My problem is I feel NO restriction....none! I can eat just like I used to..not that I am doing that! But I guess what i am saying is I do not feel like I have a band! Would you say I am a prime candidate for a fill?
  22. Yes Sunshine! How did you find out about the band? Are you married or single like me? Lets us know all about you. As you can see we are a friendly group here in Bandland!
  23. Miranda...What should you do? Well just so you know.My policy would not cover the band or obeisety UNLESS medicaly neccesary. Call back speak to someone else and see if this applies to you policy. Also it helps to have a can do attitude....if you think you can't then you are correct!
  24. When you wake up from surgery you will have a brand new life in Bandland! Good luck!
  25. Did other people get really hungry on the 2 week clear liquid stage? Because I am STARVING!! ha! I only have 3 days to go before I get moved to regular liquids. I cannot wait to have a shake, or a creamed soup! I had to vent, had I not my pets may have been in danger...HA!
