People cannot understand our disease of purging.They are trained to hold IT all in all nice and in order! I thought about it the other day while wiping down the toliet seat as not to be noticed by my sister. When we purge we are letting IT all go.... free form...letting IT all out...we are getting rid of IT, like we cannot stand to have IT inside us for one minute longer. Food represents that IT, and each one of us has to find out what IT is that food stands for! Like I said the outside world takes pride in keeping IT all together everything is kept inside. When we purge we go against everything that makes sense. They love us and want us to get well because we confuse them! But we are not going to get well hanging our beautiful heads over toliets! We have to find the courage to seek help! If we spent half as much energy trying to get well as we did concealing our getting sick we would all be on our way to recovery!

I got a persciption from my PCP she thought I would do well on it, along with my band. I freaked out at the cost insurance does not cover it and a months supply was well over 200 bucks! So what do I do but decide I am going to order it from a Canadian mail order company. Much better price only $97.00 so I'm a happy camper until I find out it will take 60 to 90 days to get it! Why you ask? Why? Because they get it from.....are you ready for this one???? TURKEY!:omg: I am like what the heck!!! But my credit card has long since gone thru and I figure just be patient...Turkey is not THAT far away...HA! It took 90 days I got the Xenical all the literature is in some language I cannot even begin to decode. I have purposly eaten a couple of high fat meals to test the pills.......NOTHING! I think I got gelatin tablets and some turkish guy laughing his islamic booty off going " Stupied Fat White Devils!"{Just Kidding} Anyway I wondered if anyone out there has used it, and how did you fare?

Is Bent Oak right next to Whispering Winds off Apopka Blvd???? Because that is where I live, it sounded very familar. No... Chilis sounds great to me! I have been isolated in the house, not meeting people and not making new friends for far too long now.This will be good for me. I 'm kind of nervous that I will come across as really boreing since I am disabled and don't work anymore and I have no kids or significant other anymore. No scrapbooking hobbies. Yawn! Geeze I bore me! Ha! But ya know sometimes ya gotta say.....What the Hell...and try anyway and thats what I am going to do! So let's try to get together and see whats up in LapBand Land in our neck of the woods!

Hi Debby, I live in Apopka! I used Dr Grossbard in the Tampa area as he was covered by my insurance. Thank goodness I love him and his staff because I hate the drive over there! I am starting all over with my band. It was one year Oct the 4th that I was banded and I am ashamed to say I am heavier than when I started! Eating disorder and not wanting to give up control and let the band work. Can you say...THERAPY? Ya think? Ha! So that is me neighboor. Maybe we can meet sometime for a lttle coffee talk?

Okay saw my Dr and he basicly bottomed lined my butt! First no fill before the holidays, he is afraid with my record I would feel too tight and ruin my Xmas! He just did not want to chance it with my esophogas being irritated. Just like has been said to me on this site, I have to take the tiniest of bites EVER and then chew till it's goo, and then chew some more! I also have to get off the soup and ice creme diet that you can so easily fall into when your band and espohagas get swollen! I also was all proud to say I had been keeping my calories just under 2000 and I thought he was going to fall off his chair!!! HA! I did not know I am supposed to be at 1000 to 1200! Man is life getting ready to change for me!!!! I am on this site all the time and I never heard that! Ignorance is bliss right? Last but not least I have to get back to the gym and doing 2 miles on the tredmill. I felt so good when I was doing that daily, but I stopped when they switched my meds and I had a few bad days. I do not have very much fill that I can.....feel in my band but it's all I have to work with till after the holidays. I have to get back to basics and give myself a swift kick in my own butt! When will I ever get this right?

Hey girl join the club! My aniversay date was October the 4th and I am ashamed to say I weighed in at more than before my band! Not a pretty way to start but I have made up my mind that I am going to let the band work this time! I fought it tooth and nail last time! See that is the wonderful thing about the band it just sits and waits til WE are READY. I am very ready! Are you? I bet you are! Good Luck!

CherylB to answer your question I was banded one year ago Oct the 4th of this year. I have not had great success in that year... as a matter of fact alot of faliure occurred that I have now learned from and put to use. I feel like this is a brand new start for me and my band! Thank You La madam, the advice really means alot from someone with your experience. I have a Dr's appt on the 6th. Until then I am beiing very careful to try not to become sick, clear liquids only. Thanks again!

I too take 13 in the am and 16 in the pm..so I can relate to what you are suffering thru! I have tried just about everything and in the long run I have found that cutting them into 4ths when possible and taking them 2 at a time with lots of ROOM temp water works for me. I pause alot in between and it is not a fast process, but I get them all down and they stay down which is what's important! I hope this helps. Good Luck!

This is getting to be a real problem! Whenever I eat or drink NORMALY... I start to feel like a lump in the middle of my throat that will not go away until I bring it up! I know it's gross believe me and I know it is dangerous! It has gotten so bad that I need to keep a cup at my bedside because I wake up choking at night. My band had been way too tight last month and got a sizable unfill..I only have 1.8 in a 4cc band now.. so I do not feel that is the enemy. I have been staying on liquids and mushies and I still get the lump that wont go away and makes me feel like I am going to gag. About the only thing I have been able to keep down for the past month is Wendys Frostys and Chicken Noodle Soup..and yes thanks to that diet I have gained not lost weight even with all this misery. Has anybody else gone thru this too? What did you do? :help:

Okay folks I have an E Harmony out of Harmony sittuation! I need some advice. I have been e mailing and now talking on the phone with this guy I was matched with. This has been going on for almost 3 weeks now. He seems like just the nicest guy! He is funny, smart, his kids are grown and he has a great career. This is what I can assume over the phone so far.He wanted to meet in person right away...I have been avoiding it and I do not know why? I have told him exactly how much I wiegh and he is fine with it, so it is'nt because I am avoiding that same old issue. Interesting, but I made up my mind that when I did meet this guy I was not going to spend an entire day primping getting ready to where I am so made up I do not even look like the real me! So I do not understand why I am not even the slightest bit excited about meeting him? The only other thing I can think of that may be turning me off is.. I am not crazy about his voice! it is kind of high pitched and a little nasaly..not sexy at all. But we have talked so much on the phone I am used to it by now. Bottom line is... I feel no butterfly's..no sparks...should I meet him and see what happens? Help!

I am having a really tough time right now with not keeping my food down. I have not been the same ever since I got so deathly sick from being over filled for too long! I barley have any restriction and yet every time I try to eat I get that LUMP in my throat like the food gets stuck and before I know it I am throwing up.It's bad I am getting sick alot!Even liquids are coming back up. I am worried with a history of bulimia that it has reared its ugly head again. I am worried that now I cannot stop throwing up. I know I need help and have an appointment with my therapist on the 14th. Im just wondering has anyone else gone thru anything close to this after being too tight or am I just loosing it?

Toliet paper is too good for that murder! Give him all his stinking books and let him wipe his butt with the pages...thats all they contain anyway! Ya think I have an opinion about that scum bucket? No ...Not Me!

I just bought Dr Oz's new book "YOU ON A DIET" that has been featured on Oprah and I have to tell you it is very very interesting and informative! I am learning things about my body that I never knew before and I consider myself pretty health savy! The eating plan from what I can see so far, eliminates all refined sugars and white flours as well as all unhealthy oils.Personaly I know ihave to get off white sugar and flour ASAP! What is amazing to me is that he judges your health by the size of your waist...the bigger your waist the greater you chances for severe health risks. Thats why being apple shaped is bad...and I am a big apple! The book is a best seller now and retails for 25 bucks...ouch! But good ole WalMart put it in my hands for 17! I just thought you might enjoy it as well.:biggrin1:

I am a blooming idiot on the ticker thing , somehow I did mine and then could never figure out how to change it afterwards..can you say DUH?? So how far from Dublin do you live? I have always wanted to go to Ireland....green is my favorite color! Ha! Hope you are doing okay.

Too Dog Gone Many Times A Day!!!

I still indulge in a diet 7up when my tummy gets upset. The FIZZIES has always been the only thing to cure it. I drink a very small glass and very slowly! I would not drink it eveyday.

I take 8 pills in the a.m. and 11 pills at night! To say I struggle to get them down and keep them down is an understatement! I take a few at a time with lots of room temp water. I used to crush them but my teeth and gums were taking a beating. Now I just go really slow and hope they stay down!
