Have a FANTASTIC Birthday!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I live in Orlando...well actually Apopka and will be banded on Monday! Had all the pre ops today. I'm using Dr Grossbard in Dade City. Congrats on your first fill....excuse the pun how does it feel? Ha!

I got the check up from the neck up today at the hospital! I do not know what I was thinking when I got dressed this morning because I put on a denim dress. Okay fine except for the EKG part...the nurse says to me are you wearing a bra..I say no....she says well just lift your dress up and I can put the wires on you like that! Problem......I do not have under wear on.....or a bra......I am butt neehkid under my dress!!!! It gets better...she has no gowns for me to put on. Apparently I am the only person that has ever done this VILE thing before. She calls somewhere for a gown. We wait.....in silence. Finaly the gown arrives! It is 5 times too small...I have to keep an opening in the front which at this point was no problem because I cannot get it to close around my waist! The nurse finds a ratty blanket to shield my naked front and she proceeds with the EKG. Once she gets me all hooked up and turns the machine on she says to me " your heart is beating really fast..relax" Had I not been tired and semi naked I would have tried to kill her! I will be banded on Monday ....Finaly!

Smack that Dr of yours in the flippin head! Just kidding! But really... he should have been of more comfort and help to you by now! So sorry for your hard time. This is a wonderful place to find support. We are glad you found us. Take good care

Hi Everyone, I FINALY got my insurance approval yesterday! Thank God! I supposed to be banded 9-26-05..... but they had to move my surgery up a week so I now have a date of October the 3rd! I wanted to touch base with the rest of you that will also be banded in October too! BOO!

Hi Everyone! Good news! My insurance approved my surgery! I was supposed to be banded the 26th, but since we just got approval they had to move it up a week so I will be banded on October the 3rd....so sadly I must leave the wonderful September bandsters to start an October thread. I look forward to ..... Taking a bath and having some room in the tub for some bubbles! Being able to tie my shoes,look Ma no more velcro! Not having to count my chins, or lift up my stomach! Not having to ask the bitchy flight attendent for the seat belt extender! Not having to pretend that it did not piss me off that you asked me "When is the baby due?" Being able to cross my legs without having to sit like a man. Being able to have a bikini wax..hell has anyone even seen it in years ha!

Hi Denice, It's great to hear from someone who used Dr. Grossbard! I have my pre-op appointment tomarrow and then the big day is the 26th! I am excited! I am starving on this Optifast diet... kinda makes me nervouse, I hate to think that I will be hungry after surgey. I don't know if I will be going to the bash this year since it is so close after my surgery. I know me and I would want to dance and party like a crazy person, so next year for sure! Thanks for making me feel good about the upcoming event. Take care and have a fun at the bash if you go!

I will be banded the 26th of this month and I am trying to stock up on things for after surgery. I have already gotten some chicken broth and boullion, sugar free jello, and a good protien powder and pop-cycles. I guess I just want to hear from a few of you what you did right after surgery. I know I will be okay once I get on mushies, it's just right after I'm wondering about. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance!
