Not even 6 weeks post op-Gaining weight?
Dulcolax is fantastic... for the first 3 months I took it twice a week but don't need anything now. In fact in more regular now than before I had the surgery. I used to be lucky to go twice a week, now I go every day.

Best Protein Bars?
i LOVE Grenade Carb Killa Caramel Chaos but my hubby has to lock them away or I'd have 2 or 3 a day lol. I just have one every now and again when I am on a higher carb day (I usually try to stay below 20 carbs Monday-Friday and 50g at the weekends). They are really nce to eat !!

Did your doc give you a reason as to why you should only have 41g protein? I think thats really low.

How Were You 10 Weeks Out
You should be fine at 10 weeks, just use a bit of common sense and drink loads and loads of bottled water. I went to Cuba 14 weeks after surgery and spent 3 weeks there. As we were driving aound the island for half that time I took lots of protein bars just in case I didn't fancy the look of the place we were eating in. In the all inclusive part of the holiday, I stuck to chicken and fish and didn't have a problem. Enjoy your holiday !!

Anyone else have a broken mirror?
We went to the theatre to see a play last weekend and off I toodles to the loo before it started. I saw a woman washing her hands at the sinks on the other side of the room and in a split second I thought, 'goodness her legs look good and such a tiny tush' THEN I realised down the long hallway of sinks, in the ceiling to floor mirror was MY reflection. I swear to God, I still can't get my head round it! People keep telling me I look good but to me, well my head needs to catch up with my body, when it comes to believing how well I have done. I bought a pair of size 12 (uk) and 8 (USA) jeans last month and i love wearing them !! Kate P.S Must get my eyes tested

Post Op day 2 at home Sleeping
I had to sleep propped up for a week, then on my back flat for a week before I could sleep on my sides. Whhoohhooo I was so happy when I could finally get comfy to sleep! Congrats on the surgery and best wishes for a speedy recovery

I had a binge :(
It was a mistake, learn from it and move on. Please don't feel guilty, we have all done stuff we don't feel good about once the 'desperation for food mist' has lifted. Just know youre heading the right way and each minute is a fresh start. You CAN do it !!

Going back to work POST-Op.
I had four weeks off and wish, on reflection, that I had taken six. I didn't factor on feeling so exhausted!! Good luck with the surgery and best wishes for a speedy recovery

Not enough food
We are all so different, especially earlier on when we are recovering from the surgery. I am still on 5 small meals a day, otherwise I wouldnt get all my Protein in (100 gr). You may find that you can eat more of one thing and not so much of another, so its a case of just trying to see what works and what doesnt. I had my surgery at the end of July last year and I am only at the stage of having two eggs scrambled and If I eat boiled eggs, I can only have one. Just go with what your body is telling you. Congratulations

Struggling!
I can understand the uninterest in food as I went through that but set my phone alarm every three hours to eat something and forced myself no matter how small the meal/snack was. Your body has gone through a huge shock and along with that your head has too. Do you have a therapist you can talk to? You don't have your stats showing so I don't know if you are starting from a lower BMI so can't comment about the weight however you are on week three with the infamous 3 week stall. So pack the scales away, keep to the programme and check in another week, hard to do but will stop the head f**ks. Have you spoken to your NUT about starting other foods? Best of luck and congrats on the surgery! Hang on in there, it'll get better

Feeling Weak.....Does anybody get weak when you are on pre-op or right after surgery on such a low calorie diet?
It's normal and it would be unusual to have a ton of energy after the pre op liver cleanse, the surgery and then early recovery. I didn't get any energy back until after week six. Kate

Did anyone not have a drain?

Vitamins after surgery

Fasting phase
If its for 24 hours blitz the house from top to bottom. Drink lots of Water Prepare for surgery, pack bag, sort out kitchen. Go for a long walk. Get support from here. Go see a film (take lots of water) Have a long soak in the bath. Have the attitude of, "I can do this" not "I'm going to be angry". Best of luck!!

Is it really worth it?
@BrightEyes42: Every time in the past when I started to really get the weight off I would sabotage myself and gain it all back plus some. This was me to a T !! 25 years of doing it, kind of punishing myself by gaining it back because I didn't feel worthy of losing it. Five and a half months out and nearly at goal and I couldn't be happier. I feel great and can do so much more. My only regret was that I didn't have this done before. Its life changing but in such a positive way. Best of luck for a positive experience and speedy recovery. Remember the sleeve is a tool not a miracle
