  1. I still have a protein latte (25 oz) every morning and still really love it. For the first time since the surgery I ran out a couple of weeks ago and they couldnt deliver for a week. Good god, I was like a bitch from Hell. I like the fact its a good chunk of fluid which starts me off in a positive way plus the 15g of Protein first thing is a good way to start the day. What do you still do which helps set you up for the day? Kate
  2. Congratulations to you both!! Such an inspiration xxx
  3. I have met with my surgeon already (who is fab) and now just waiting for a date. Its a little tight for this year as I can't take time off work in December, so I am looking at January. Unless he has cancellations of course and I can go asap! I don't want to go abroad, just the travelling back puts me off. I am having a full tummy tuck, breast uplift and lower/upper eyes done. In six months or so I am looking towards having a thigh lift. Bring on the morphine !!
  4. Congratulations Silk and you too Rosie. Both doing great !
  5. I used Centrum Advantage chewables for the first 6 months. Then I went onto tablets. My bloods have aways been perfect.
  6. I took 4 weeks off and wish I had stayed off 6. Everyone is so different though so just judge yourself but please don't overdo it. You will have been through major surgery, you need to give your body time to heal. Good luck ! Kate
  7. Just sending you a virtual hug and hope you gain support from all who offer it. *Hug*
  8. Im in Wiltshire. If you want someone local you could ask via your surgeon if you could be put in touch with others who are having the surgery at the same time or if anyone has volunteered to be a support for others. Best wishes for the surgery and recovery! Not long now

    Sleep !
  10. I was very lucky in that I could drink a lot of Water from a few days after the surgery. However I was still consipated and tried lactulose, MofM and others, the only thing that worked for me was Dulcolax. Brilliant. Im due to have skin surgery soon and have a few packs of Dulcolax in the house just to be on the safe side lol. Hope it passes soon (no pun intended ) Kate
  11. I wasnt getting in a 1000 at week 5/6... that took me months. Everyone is different, go by how you feel building it up over time. My NUT is lovely but told me I could try Pasta and bread at week 6.... hell no thanks. Use a bit of common sense, listen to your body and have faith. Congrats on the surgery!!
  12. I had five, no drain..... nearly a year out and they have faded really well. Can hardly see them.
  13. I was scared after the surgery that I wouldn't be able to drink enough Water as I loved it so much before. A few weeks in, it seemed as if I was back to before surgery and have never had a problem since. I can gulp down a pint and not have an issue. I don't do it often, I tend to take a few mouthfuls, have a break then carry on. Im so grateful that its so easy!! It just takes time
  14. 11 months out and still get a runny nose after eating ...
  15. Keep trying and have a lot of laughs along the way. If it's not working, stop contact, explain why and move on. I met my husband online... sometimes it does work out
  16. I have a squatty potty and it's been really helpful !!
  17. Looking great and your smile says it all !! Well done
  18. You have just been through a massive operation and its going to take time to recover. Some people state they are back at work a few days after the surgery and feel normal however I wouldn't say that was the norm. It was 6 weeks before I felt my energy was anywhere back to normal and even then if I over did it, I would be in bed at 8pm. 40 oz of Protein is very low even at 3 weeks post surgery. Try upping the protein and resting when you feel you need to. Keep up with fluids too! Congrats on the surgery!!
  19. Dulcalax worked for me earlier on. I wouldnt go at all if i didn't take it twice a week. It's not nice to go through, not pooping, but it does get better ! Really try to get as much Fluid in as you can. I drink 20 oz on the way to work in the car, then have a 24 oz Protein latte once im at work. Thats 44oz before 9am. Fluids were never really an issue from me after the first 2 weeks so I am very lucky. Please keep sipping away!!
  20. Wonderful! Made me tear up a little
  21. Your smile say's it all... well done !!
  22. Im 7 months out now and haven't had it for a while. I used to have it if I ate too quickly... bleh
  23. My worst one was "The fart Diet" also known as the "Good God I can't eat any more sodding cabbage soup diet". Second worst was the Pot Noodle diet. Breakfast of fruit then 2 Pot noodles a day.
  24. I was a nightmare week 3-5. My poor husband and sons, they couldn't do right for wrong and I was a complete nightmare. It will pass, just hold onto that thought and keep busy.
  25. You will go through so many emotions over the next few months. Just remember it's normal, come here to vent and discuss and know that most go through the same feelings. You're not alone.
