  1. I had my first fill on the 26th of October. I am noticing that I have to really take it slow with alot of foods that I tolerated before my fill. I love grapes had no problem but I have to go slow because of the belching, lol. I also cannot do rice at all. I am now experiencing a little discomfort with eggs. They have to be very over easy, almost runny now. LOL I have no problems with bread toasted or regular and I have tried macaroni with no prob. I PB'd once with rice. I thought I was dying, it hurt like hell. I try to be very careful I chew, chew, chew everything to GOO. I also take about 35 minutes to eat my meals. Usually after 25 minutes I am done. This Band is great. For the first time in my life I actually leave food on my plate. WHoo HOo
  2. GO MARIA it's yo' birthday, we gonna party like it's yo' birthday, we'll sip bacardi now cause it's yo' birthday and if we get drunk we don't give a D*#n cause it's yo' birthday. (MY version of 50 cent) Have A Happy Day!!!

  4. PBing is Productive Burping. It is kind of like throwing up but you get the slime mouth and eye watering along with it. This happens when you maybe eat too fast or don't chew something well and swallow. It gets stuck and won't go down. It is very painful(I had one and only one with rice and I was asking for death to come take me quickly LOL). It felt like to me I was having a heart attack. I couldn't breathe but it came back up and out, LOL. Trust me you don't want one. It is inevitable though because you don't really know what you cannot tolerate anymore until it happens. I have a problem with rice, and eggs. I used to love those foods but now they are evil. LOL Hope this helped.

  11. ALl I can say is WOW! Just great work! WHen I was researching the band I came across your webpage. It was a deciding factor in my choice of getting banded. Thanks for the continuing inspiration.
  12. SHowboat girl you, your sister, and I were banded on the same day! I have lost 31lbs so far and my doctor said exactly what you are thinking. He said if it ain't broke don't fix it. If I keep losing more than 3lbs a week average then he does not recommend a fill. I have noticed that my hunger has increased a little but I still only eat about a third of what I ate Pre-band. I think I am just gonna wait until I hit a plateau or my appetite increases to the point where I don't feel restricted. I say wait on the fill. I go back to my surgeon on November 6 for another checkup then he will se if I am ready for a fill. I hope to still be losing. I want to have lost 40lbs before I go back. ONly 9lbs to go. YOu guys are doing great with your weight loss. Keep up the good work.
  13. YAy!!!!!!!!!!! EIleen! You are now officially an owner of what our dear sage Jack calls the "silicone fist". Wear it well grasshopper.
  14. I was banded August 29th and so far I have lost 31lbs. I am getting hungrier now, so I think it is time for my first fill. I have been averaging about a 4lb a week weight loss. I feel much better and walking is so much easier for me. I am in the process of joining a gym. I love this band. Even though I am eating more it is still a LONG way from what I would normally eat. I eat about a third of what I ate pre-band. I love my band. Hopefully I will have lost 9lbs by the end of this month to bring me to 40lbs gone. That ain't too shabby for not being filled and 2 months post op. I am so happy everyone is doing great. JLUthien just keep at it you will lose. Some people lose faster than others. You may need another fill. It takes time to get good restriction I have heard. Fortunately for me my surgeon stiched some of my stomach over my band to anchor it he said this added extra restriction for me so it was like I got a fill without saline. I have faith in you. You are doing nothing wrong. Just make good food choices and consult with your Dietician. You will suceed.
  15. The two drink thing I thought I was the ONLY one who did that. That is just bizarre to me that so many of you have done that too. I have Totally ordered the largest pizza and pretended it was family night! I have also bought a dozen donuts for the "family" but they NEVER got any. LOL Kind of sad in a way but that WAS my life. A reality check is what this thread is. I don't want to ever go back to those habits again, EVER!!!
  16. I need to just get moving period. I am losing weight just fine but I know I need to do weight resistance and cardio. I joined our local gym here today...Pray for me! LOL I want to be like you when I grow up lol.(even though I am older than you now LOL)
  17. IT WILL BE OVER BEFORE YOU KNOW IT(liquid stage)! It is great that you are in the gym so soon after surgery. You are truly inspiring! I am going to join a gym today. Way to motivate!

  23. Jenna I can truly relate I lost my very best friend Max( bulldog/chow mix) in march 2001. He was 10 years old. I loved him truly and he loved me through everything I went through. I found out I had Lupus and was so sick at times I could only go in the backyard and sit down to play with him. He just sat right next to me and laid his head on my lap as to say it's okay I am just glad to see you. He died laying in my arms and I will never forget him. Why can't people love like animals, I will never know. Jeter looks like he was a lot of fun an love. You will always have him in your heart, there they never die. BIg HUGS!!!!!! Dee Dee
  24. I agree with Jenna. My sister teaches Kindergarten and you guys are on the go alot with the lower grades. I volunteer and read to the classes K-5th grade and I would suggest from what I see you teachers do in a day that you do it over your christmas break. I am a laboratory technician and I was back in a week.
