Woo! I'm sexy!
I have GREAT legs! My mama and all of my friends love my legs. I always joked if I could get the rest of my body to match my legs I would be Dangerous! I was born with a birth defect that has my face bigger on one side than the other. My top lip is bigger on one side than the other, had many surgeries to correct it. I have just lost about 19 lbs with this band and my face is really shrinking! When I lost weight in the past my face NEVER showed it. Now everyone is like whoa! I feel beautiful! For the first time in my life I know I am pretty! Wait until I lose about 60 more pounds I just might be DANGEROUS! LOL LOL P.S. ALex- You are very intelligent, that is sexy. The way I see you with your children in your pictures suggest a loving and caring mother that is sexy. You have a beautiful smile and that is sexy. Girl you have it going on, remember sexy is as sexy does! You are one of my inspirations to go from over 350lbs to 215ish ..rocks! I look to you as a motivator. I couldn't see myself in the 200lb range but when I look at your before and after pics I am inspired. So you rock and anyone I think rocks is sexy ..so there! LOL LOL

Gained 2 Pounds
Teresa cheer up girl! You know what the problem is so now you gotta fix it! U can do it! You have lost 40lbs in 2 months that is great! Stop going to Wendy's period! Fast food places are too tempting, if you can avoid them do so. If not just remember you put yourself through surgery to get a hold of your weight problem and you didn't do that for naught! Those 2 lbs could have been fluid. Just pick yourself up and dust that dirt off your shoulders and get back to the business at hand. U can do it, I know you can cause you have been doing it so far! Back to the bandster rules and go for your goal!!! I am proud of what you have done so far!! U go girlfriend!

whats happened to me
Have you had any fills? The band is a tool to help you lose weight. Like the gastric bypass you can stretch the pouch is you overeat. You are the first that I have heard that the band isn't working. May be it is a defective band? I was just banded August 29th and I have no fill until October and I know that the band is here..believe me. I didn't chew something so well the other day and felt it big time. The band 's purpose is to cause you to feel full on smaller portions longer. NOt only will you have to change your eating habits, you also have to exercise too. Have you changed your diet? Do you exercise? What has your doctor said about this because it does not sound right to me. You should have lost something on th liquid phase alone. Did you do the liquid phase and follow all the instuctions post-op? Some people lose during the 4-6 weeks post op because of the food restrictions. what was your diet like after surgery? I really would like to know the answers to these questions because you have piqued my curiostiy. You are the first I have encountered where the band did not restrict. Thank you for posting. Dee Dee

I am thinking I made the wrong decision...
Thanks you guys for your encouragement. I am feeling better now that I am on the mushies stage. I am still in ketosis and although my doc said nothing about chewing sugar free gum that is what I have to do for the as Jack says.."goatbreath" ..hahahahaha. Ketosis produces awful breath. I know it. NOw my excersise challenge is on. I have been given the okay to do aerobics and stuff. The port site still hurts every dang on morning but after I move around I am cool. I figure by X-mas I can at least resemble the " brick house" I want to be. LOL

Post Surgery Expectations
I too was banded on August 29th. I have moved on to the pureed/soft foods. I went to the doctor and he said that I won't even be ready for a fill until at least October. So far I have lost 19lbs. Maybe he is considering a fill because that is how he regularly does things. My surgeon said that some docs fill the band at the time of surgery. I guess they are all different.

Weak, but need info
Ebony my doctor will not think about a fill until I am post op 6 weeks. He leaves the band unfilled at the time of surgery. Some people can lose just with the band, he says. I have heard that some doctors put in about 1cc at the time of surgery. It just depends on your doctor. Liquids were hell for me as you know but I honestly did really well for the first week. Maybe you need to tell your dietician all of these concerns and if you still feel you are getting nowhere consult your surgeon. Call now or 2morrow!

Starving
Well ebony I am back. My surgeon says that the doctor can modify your diet if need be. My dietician totally redid my diet. I am on a new diet that is so much better. I could ony do a week of liquids and if you are diabetic your diet should be different to allow for sugar control. Don't change your mind about the procedure because I was whining! Have the surgery, I am glad i did. My problem was my dietician had me doing the RNY diet instead of the lapband diet. Talk with your dietician call her/him and bug the hell out of them until you have a solution to make you feel better. After the surgery the liquids weren't that hard to do for the first 5 days for me it was that sixth day.
