  1. I thought the girls could appreciate this > > > Why females should avoid a girls night out after they are married! > > The other night I was invited out for a night with "the girls." 2. OKay I am lost. Are you talking withcraft?
  3. Vanessa I am saying a prayer right now for you! Everything will be great! You will be fine! See ya on the banded side! DeeDee
  4. Hey STeve! Here is to an uneventful surgery and a speedy recovery! See on the Banded side! DeeDee
  5. Happy Birthday Paula! 36 is a great age! It only gets better now! DeeDee
  6. Jess, you are doing a great job! I have people now look at me everyday and ask how much have you lost. I have only been banded 3 weeks and I tell them 19lbs. I have maintained the 19lbs since the first week I lost them. LOL. I am 317lbs 2 lbs heavier than you and I can only walk for exercise. If I do aerobics my boobs will knock me silly! LOL There is no Bra that cant control my boobs especially since my tummy acts as their trampoline! LOL I hope I made you laugh cause when family says hurtful things well..they hurt the most. these are people who are supposed to love you. Your SIL is just being witchy. She is trying to downgrade your decision because she knows she screwed up in her decision to get RNY. Your sister is getting pregnant and she is morbidly obese. I think that she is doing it for attention but she does know that only in rare cases do women lose weight while pregnant. Toting around a baby when you are already obese ain't easy. Just continue with your journey, let the HATERS do all that HATIN' and you go on bout doing your thang! Work that band! DeeDee
  7. Jamie, U go girlfriend! Way to do tha' dang thang! Enjoy those 18 jeans! Well done girl!
  8. VInesqueen! She had just come from her belly dancing class and....
  9. I am howling in alto Voice! HOWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL
  10. Magic Girlfriend I am trying to get to your size LOL! U look great to me! I am 5'8 and 230lbs is my goal! U make 258 look SWELL! In my opinion to each his own but grilfriend I don't think you need the band, that is just my opinion. If you are not happy and think you need it then that is a decision that only you can make!
  11. VInes, when I was on prednisone for my lupus I gained 40lbs in two months! I could have eaten the broadside of a bear! ANY steroid(your inhaler) Is gonna make you retain weight. Not just prednisone. I also did some research and just like the atheletes who take the metabolic steroids regular prescribed steroids accentuate muscle building too. That is why you are shrinking in inches cause the fat is turning to muscle. In order to balance the 2 I think you need to probably work out more. When I gained the 40 lbs I joined a gym and went 4x a week I lost 20 lbs that month, but stopped working out(hard to do with lupus pain). It did help. Oh yeah I was on prednisone for 5 years took it everyday. You are doing FANTABULOUS considering the steroids. They are medically necessary but they sabotage any diet or weight loss plan. I am rooting for you if anyone can beat the steroid demon you can! HUgs from one Diva to another! Dee Dee
  12. CUte Toes! I have a friend who gets solar nails they look great! My nails grow like wildfire so I just get them to put the acrylic over my natural nail.
  13. GOD BLess YOU! You have a guardian angel watching over you in heaven. You will do great with surgery and recovery.
  14. Unfortunately Megan You have not seen what I have. I had friend to go in kidney failure because of the atkins diet and ketosis. She is on dialysis and is 28 years old. She did that diet for about 6 months and lost 90lbs and her kidney function. So I will pee on a strip when I feel something is wrong. I will worry about my health in general not just losing weight with a band! I do for the record follow my surgeon's instructions but being in the medical field for over 15 years I know a surgeon is not an internist. There is a difference. If you start having medical problems.e.g acute kidney failure, or whatever you are not going to your surgeon because he will tell you to go to your medical doctor. I chose the band to aid me in getting off of blood pressure medicine and losing weight and I care about my health in general. For me it is rocket science if it were just about losing weight and not being healthy with it I could do other unhealthy things to lose weight.
  15. I AM in a LARGE state of ketosis! I am a medical laboratory tech and a 4+ ketones is not good. I am deep purple on the ketostix not light pink. I drink about 72oz of water a day. I eat Protein first and then protein again I am on the mushies/soft food stage. I know when I get to semi solids I will probably be in 1+ or trace ketosis. The problem is that will be in 2 more weeks. I know the problem it has on the kidneys. What I failed to say is that I am also hypertensive which also affects the kidneys. I take blood preessure medicine for that but it still has an affect on your kidneys . I am going to talk with my nutritionist 2morrow. Man I know she is sick of me! LOL but Hell I need some answers. Some people like being in a mild state of ketosis, emphasis mild but i am in too deep I am sure you will agree.
  16. I was banded on August 29, 2005 and I have been in ketosis ever since. I eat the low carb yogurt(dietician directed) And sugar free everything. I know that the inches lost is a great result of the ketosis. Ketosis is fat loss, I know this. I did the Atkins diet before and lost 60lbs in 3 months and I gained back the sixty plus 20 more. I don't want it to happen with this band too. I know that I am getting my Water and I am concentrating on Proteins first. The problem is after I eat my Protein I am not hungry for other food. My yougurt is sugar free, my pudding is sugar free. I just don't want to stay in Ketosis for a long period of time because it is just not healthy. What do you guys think? Dee Dee
  17. I chose the band because Gastric Bypass freaks me out!!! I work in a hospital lab and I see things associated with GB. I see the good and the bad, but I tend to weigh the bad. I want to get off of blood pressure meds and take no meds. I do not want to swap bp medication for b12 shots, and a thousand Vitamins that may not be digetsted anyway with GB. Malabsoprtion, anorexia, are common with GB patients. I have seen it. Not all GB patients have bad outcomes I know this but for me it only takes one to die, or end up living in misery to have and affect on my decision. In my life I have met many GB patients and I can honestly say for every 3 I know 2 have some sort of problem. Potassium deficiency, b12 deficiency, anorexia...etc. This is not meant to offend anyone who chooses GB. It is just not for me. If GB was the only option for surgery I just would be doing what I have done all my life, finding another diet to go on. DeeDee
  18. Cissy, welcome to bandland girlfriend! Party over here!!!!!
  19. Daniela, I pray God's peace for you in this time of sorrow. Remember that God's peace passeth all understanding. Give everything to God, and know that your mother is with her Lord and saviour having a Wonderful time in heaven!
  20. Amy girl we are Bandsisters and I know how you feel . Since I have started on mushies I have gained 3 lbs! I am no longer getting on the scale. I hate the scale. I will weigh when I have to ..like at dr's appointments and fills or whatever. I am trying not to weigh myself until the end of the fall challenge and nana's holiday challenge. The scale messes with your head. Beware the scale Demon!!
  21. Wow!! Way to go girl! Rock that band, Diva style! I love it when we Mega Divas(300lbs and up) work that band. You are doing great! Inspiration, that is what you are! Thank you!
  22. Praying for a speedy recovery! Welcome to the bandwagon!
  23. Received my bill yesterday! That is how much my band cost with the hospital bill included! I work at the hospital so our insurance pays 90% of the entire bill. I am only out of pocket about $1,346. I can pay this on a payment plan through our hospital . they will automatically deduct it from each paycheck however much I want them to. I am so Happy! God looked out for me with this band and I think I was destined to get it. Just thought I would share!
  24. congratulations Starr!!
