  1. Going to but some in my purse , in my car, and stash some at work :nervous http://www.buyemp.com/product/1091907.html
  2. i think i'm goin to give this a try!
  3. i'm almost 11 months out, and haven't had a single problem.
  4. i would go for the bloodwork. I had the same thing about 6 months after getting banded and turned out my iron was WAY to low. I was tired all the time, and want from 0 to bitch in under 10 seconds LOL
  5. yup, i'm the same way in regards to my period.
  6. my stats are the same too :think
  7. Where are all the VA bandsters? How is everyone doing?
  8. I have BCBS VA - ppo and was approved very quickly. I love my insurance i've never ever had a problem with them approving anything, and always had great customer service. I plan on writting them a letter on my one year bandiversary thanking them!! I had a BMI over 40 and several co-morbidities.
  9. hey, i'd like to join in! I set a goal to lose 20lbs by august 18th, and i'm lagging on this so need some support, and a kick in the butt. (H-highest weight, S-weight at surgery, J-weight when joined this club, G-goal weight, C-current weight) H-238 S-238 J-173.5 G-125 minigoal-160 C-173.5
  10. my surgeon was fairly new to lapbands. She is the best thing that ever happened to me. I actually liked the idea of having a newer surgeon. I wasn't "just another one of the thousands" When I called, the staff and doctor knew exactly who i was. etc. I would go for it!
  11. AWESOME!!! I bet there is nothing better then feeling healthy again!! and all that money you were spending on meds, can now be used to buy new clothes :biggrin1:
  12. congrats! You look great:clap2: Happy bandiversary
  13. it sounds like slime in a minor form. I slime big time if i eat to fast. Remember that slime we used to by for like a quarter out of the machine as kids? Its almost like that...and mine comes up in a big old handful, thats mostly because it builds up and builds up in your pouch until its so full that it only has one way to go, and thats up:speechles
  14. OMG newsho, your stomach looks great. Your scars look better then mine and i've only had the surgery once! YOU MUST WEAR THAT BIKINI! If you don't then i don't stand a chance. Do it for me and all lapbanders!:clap2:
  15. it is possible with the band to gain weight, but i think the safe guards (vomiting if you eat to much) will help prevent that. However you can totally eat around your band. Junk food tends to go right through your band stuff that melts easy (chocolate, ice cream, etc) can be eatin in fairly high doses, which may cause you to not lose weight.
  16. i have an IUD in me, so the thought of something foreign in me doesn't phase me at all. I love my IUD and I love my band!:biggrin1:
  17. how about www.wealthymen.com :biggrin1: I was a sahm for awhile. Its just something we discussed, pros&cons , money, etc. I actually enjoy being at work part time for the most part.
  18. i think loosing 50% is the average. I've lost 50% and now i'm starting to struggle. However, i feel the band has done most of its job, i'm not gaining weight, and i've gotten off enough weight that now, if i'd just get my ass to the gym more often, i can exercise without feeling like i'm going to die after 5 min. I'm only 9.5 months out of surgery, so i'm pretty proud! I may try getting another adjustment, but i think i'm good on the tightness, i just need to exercise.
  19. i'm at the same point as you i'm 9 months out and i'm hardly movin on the scale. I know its time to up the exercise as i can not imagine gettin anymore of a fill. I have the hardest time exercising reularly though. I want to loose another 20 by my bandiversary but we'll see if that actually happens,
  20. i'm over 50% to goal.. But i've only been banded less then 9 months.. I plan on being close to 80% by my one year mark. Alot of the people here are new bandsters.
  21. my best advice for you, would be to find a doctor who does the band and talk to him/her and see if they think you are a good candidate. The band will help you with overeating, You can only eat so much before you vomit. However there are foods (like ice cream) that will go straight through the band and you can eat and eat and eat. You have to decide if you have the willpower not to buy it and bring it into you home and if you have the willpower to only eat one small bowl if you do decide to eat something that will slide through the bad.
  22. i used to hate milk , now i love it. Was ok on fish, now i eat tuna 3-4 times a week i hardly ever eat red meats now.
  23. i'm pretty sure we do have one lapbander who does, but i will let her speak for herself is she wishes.
  24. at McD's i usually get the chicken nuggets or a grilled chicken sandwich and just throw away the bun. Mexican food, usually again, chicken of some sort (i love chorri pollo) and same with italian, some chicken marsala with no Pasta. I've found something to eat at just about any resturant, it may not be the healthiest but if i'm in a bind it works. I try to keep a Protein bar in my purse, the make some pretty yummy one these days.
  25. nope never was a problem, my Dr just said do whatever feels comfortable
