  1. Hope you're feeling a bit better. The exhaustion you spoke of seems to be a pretty common complaint as a new post op.
  2. It's amazing when the stars seem to all align in our favor. You're on a lucky streak that shows no sign of ending anytime soon! Congratulations on the good news!
  3. Way to go on getting your surgery date. Congrats!
  4. Thanks for the advice @@Gumpgal ! I was going to wait until Monday, but now I think I'll take them in tomorrow. Better safe than sorry.
  5. My surgery is next Wednesday the 29th. How soon should I fill my prescriptions, do you think? I already have them.
  6. Congratulations on your approval and surgery date!
  7. I don't think it's embarrassing at all! You should be proud!
  8. Never again to allow my weight to factor into any of my future life choices! I'm tired of my weight having a vote that counts.
  9. It was probably just an off the cuff reaction. You're thinking in terms of a healthier, extended life. While he apparently, immediately focused on the aesthetics, such as how it will affect your social interactions as a couple. If you haven't already I would suggest you sit him down and explain in detail exactly what wls will do to improve your lives. Expose him to the forums and tons of supporting information out there. Hopefully he'll come around, but if not, in the end, it's your life and ultimately your decision. While I never personally had that sort of reaction from family, I did have to educate quite a few of them on the common misconceptions out there. Good luck!
  10. Nope, not cheating at all. In fact I'd place it firmly in the "wise decision" column!
  11. Thanks @@Djmohr I normally do too except when I'm watching On Demand or Hulu. They won't let you fast forward through the commercials. Sneaky buggers! ????
  12. That is wonderful news! So happy for you!
  13. As is life. The trick is finding the balance between the two.
  14. Maybe you can contact your surgeon and see if he can write another prescription for one that might be more readily available. I've not filled mine yet, but I have heard mention of this happening to others. Having problems finding the liquid form in stock. Good luck!
  15. I'm not post op yet, but I can definitely understand that happening. A big part of the process is letting go of your former relationship with food. Before surgery and after we are being bombarded with dealing with the emotional fallout that comes with that, and on top of the trauma of surgery... It can be overwhelming. I'm sure I have many such dreams ahead of me.
  16. Welcome and congratulations on your decision! You will learn a lot here and there is plenty of support to help you along the way. Good luck!
  17. Last night I watched a commercial sporting a good looking guy having a pretty intense love affair with a bag of Classic Lays Potato chips. At first I thought it had to be a Lifetime movie, given the romantic music overlay, as they lovingly ran (or in the chips case, teetered) across an open field of wild flowers towards each other. Then it went a step further, delving into the "history" of how they met. Apparently, while riding the bus one day, the lonely man happened upon her "Lays" photo on an online dating site. He immediately swiped her photo to the "matched" side, as the attraction between them was nothing less than magical. Seriously it brought a tear to my eye. From there it was a stylish montage of picnics and parties, being joined at the hip, and kissy faces. Ah, young love. But then came the fateful day when they were strolling along the avenue, hand in bag, and they happened upon a window display of other Lays potato chips, but, and here's the dramatic plot twist, they were in a variety of flavors hitherto unexplored: Barbecue, Ranch, Sun Dried, just to name a few. And the man, being the two timing dog that he was, uttered the iconic: "We have to talk" line to Classic's demoralized facade. Yep, she was being traded in for a newer model, without so much as a fare thee well. I swear, I think I saw her packaging fade from sunny to mustard yellow right in front of my eyes. It was quite traumatizing. So, being that these type of ridiculous advertising gimmicks abound in our day and age, hoping to keep us hooked on the bad stuff. What are your opinions of the worst junk food commercial? And how do you help deal with their tantalizing allure? ???? Oh, btw, my personal caption for that commercial is: There are always new ways to get "Layed."
  18. I'm not post op yet, but I already feel that if I truly want long term success, I will always need to be mindful of my ways. And that will include recording my food intake and calories, a regular exercise regimen, getting in the proper elements of Protein and Water, and first and foremost never getting complacent enough that I forget how awful it feels now, being this size, and how it has adversely affected my health and social interaction. I plan to never forget where I came from, and just how easily I can make a return trip.
  19. It's always best to read the labels and avoid any additives that might be detrimental to your own particular body chemistry. It doesn't bother me though, and I love the flavor! ????
  20. Crystal Light and unflavored protein powder.
  21. This is an excellent idea for reviving motivation along the way. I'm definitely going to start my own "instead of" box. Thanks for sharing!
  22. No apologies needed. Her comment was meant for all of us. The support we get here from everyone is priceless! You've found a home here!
  23. @@bring Keep the hope alive, that's the key to success. I have faith you're going to have a positive outcome. We all deserve a chance at a healthy life! ????
