  1. travelady: rule #1: know your boy u know him better than any of us on this forum so think to yourself why is your dh not being fanatical about this whole process? Maybe it's not his style. Think about your life with him ad how he acts in different situations. Maybe its just his way if coping and dealing. Now throw in the money factor. That brings on another set of reactions. My dh is supportive but from the sidelines. Very much limited to: great! Or happy for you! Now if my ins didnt cover it? Let's just say Houston we have a problem. Its not that he doesn't love me enough its just that I have to remember rule # 1 know your boy. Mine is very practical. So....I guess what I am saying is right now you have got to love big and love hard. Love yourself enough to get healthy and love him enough to be patient while he wraps his head around this whole issue. My good friend gave me this advice: when people r not supportive or understanding, stop holding that conversation with that person. Find common ground and stick to that in the meantime handle your business with your ALS and journey to good health. God bless!
  2. its some decent hair for those of is that like to give ourselves a lil xtra sumthin sumthin now and then

  4. :seeya::lurk5::ihih::lurk5::thumbup::thumbup::lurk5::crying::lurk5::lurk5: I AM APPROVED! I called the ins. co. today ( I have been calling 2x a day lately) and the rep. told me that the letter was being mailed today. I called surgeon's office and I have a band date of Sept.9 , holla! Thank you all for your prayers. FYI: it took approx: 2 1/2 weeks to get approval. (not bad considering they lost some of my info.)
  5. Thanks kiz LBT really keeps me focused and motivated. another suggestion : September Superstars
  6. Skinny1: Is that u on your avatar? Watch out there now (in my best old school, old man player voice)
  7. I am praying that I can get banded in Sept. My suggestions: September Soul (favorite) September Sizzle September Sizzlers September Show Stoppers September Show-outs
  8. In the words of the great and wise poet Rocko: You just do you (and what), umma do me, umma do me, umma do me You just do you (and what), umma do me, umma do me, umma do me Wanna see how it's done? Then watch me do me, watch me do me, watch me do me Wanna see how it's done? Then watch me do me, watch me do me, watch me do me :Dancing_tongue::eek::Dancing_tongue: On another note, continue to love him as hard as you love yourself and everything will work out as it should. God Bless:smile2:
  9. Congratulations! Pretty soon they won't be able to say "she sure can dance for a big girl" Don't worry about the rush before surgery, you've made it this far you can do anything.
  10. I am an emo eater also. My episodes are primarily triggered by stress-especially at work. I have been doing some serious thinking about how I am gonna deal with this after I am banded. I believe that I am gonna have to make some serious adjustments in my life to maximize my band. I need to do me. When it comes to work I can't do 200% anymore - its killing me. I can't afford to eat my way through it anymore. I am seriously thinking about leaving administration and going back into the classroom until I get my health together.
  11. My husband was very accepting from the beginning. I was much smaller when we met and married so I am sure he is ready to relive some old times! He is also my co-conspirator and helping me to keep this process discreet.
  12. Exactly! "You look so pretty and you are so cute!" My mama said ain't nothing cute but babies and monkeys! Hmm, maybe that is why they can't find my pics in the mailroom. Somebody has a fetish for big girls with pretty faces-heyyy, holla!:tt1::teeth_smile::tt1::tongue::tt1::tt1::tt1::tt1::tt1::tt1::tt1::tt1::tt1::tt1::tt1::tt1::tt1::tt1::tt1::tt1::tt1::tt1::tt1::tt1::tt1:

  15. Hey Brina welcome to the group. It seems like u have a great sense of humor and very clever (widths end). Have fun reading all of the old/current treads and creating new threads/posts.
  16. Oh I see. My referral comes from my surgeon to my ins.co. I had to attend a free seminar by the surgeon(the surgeon would not see me otherwise) Then I had my initial consultation (there was $170 fee for this visit). It is at this visit that the ins. person at the surgeon's office told me my next steps. I had to do a six months visit with my pcp. At the end of the six months my pcp submitted the info to my surgeons office. The ins. lady at the surgeons office then submitted everything to my ins. co. for approval. I hope this helps:sneaky:
  17. Hi hope I have bcbs AL also. Did u have to appeal? How did u get them to approve u?
  18. tammygirl u r gonna end up bring the mama of this forum. You should change your avatar to m'dear! Seriously you always come with some sincere well thought out comments.

  20. serenity, did u say that u called your dr. In march and u haven't heard back? Omg ! That is outrageous. Here's a thought: get a copy if your medical records find another doc that is a " friend to the process" and have them submit the info. My surgeons office has the job of getting my surgery approved. Not my PCP hmm
  21. It all boils down to the fact that what's important to you is a mere after thought to other people. U know what i mean. I am like this is my life this is not a game or a joke. Well I did take the photos directly to bc bs shield today. The rep that has been monitoring this train wreck said I should know something in a couple of days. We shall see
