  1. I love juicy couture with my old self! I have watches, jewelry, flip flops, and perfume. I want a cute t shirt and some fly jeans!
  2. Lenny Williams! That is so taking me back to the hole in the wall clubs I used to sneak in to! :cursing:
  3. I was interviewing a teacher for a position that I had open. The lady was quite obese. Anyway, she said at her previous job a kid (high school) called her fat. She said that she told him I can lose fat but you can't lose ugly. She had the guts to tell a student that and repeat it in a job interview? I ain't mad at her. Lil bad :cursing:
  4. when i asked my gastric bypass friend about her hair loss her response was simply "can you tell'. frankly i couldn't. i am just not really sweating it. besides i will rock the stank out of some remi hair weave:lol:
  5. I have gained 60lbs in the last two years so i don't go around people that haven't seen me in a long time. I also don't do photos.
  6. Good for u atl. now u r on your way to being hotlanta:tt1: Update: part of my daily ritual is calling the ins.company to see if they have received my paperwork. Well today, during this sacred time i called and was told that they received it on the 12th and to give it some time because it could take up to four weeks for an answer. Well,at least that's a start. But as always-Pray for your girl:confused_smile:
  7. Good luck Serenity and thank you for posting on the girlfriends forum. I am not musically inclined so that makes me envious of your wonderful gift! Please continue to visit and post on the girlfriends forum as well. Talk to ya later
  8. I haven't been banded yet but I wanted to say hello!
  9. I am tired of looking at my "fine as wine pictures" and hating on myself. I have always loved fashion and loved looking good. I still try to keep myself up -that's why I have got to lose this weight. People at work will compliment me like you are "Kimora Lee" (my style I guess) Yeah right! More like Kimora lee on a doughnut diet! More like Sara Lee I never let them see me sweat, but the truth is when I look in the mirror I don't know who that person is. She does not match the mental picture that I have of myself. My ins. requires a 3 year weight documentation. I had not been to the dr. in almost four years (stopped taking care of my health) so I don't have recorded medical weights and anything before that time my bmi is too low. Well, to make a long story short my ins. allows photos as documentation. i had to scramble like hell to find pictures of myself!-Can we say reality check?
  10. We all have our vices. If you kicked one habit you can kick the other. Let's get healthy!
  11. Travel lady, I agree that age and total weight loss will influence how much loose skin you have. My friend is in her forties though. I think individual factors will influence the loose skin issue but genetically our skin is more resilient to sun, age, etc. Medical fact. However, as we loose the weight we have got to exercise and moisturize as preventative measures. southern girl I am with u! I had a c section birth and so I already know that I am gonna get tucked!
  12. Congratulations Idelay! I pray that the weight slides off of you like butter:shades_smile:
  13. Hey ya'll, Reading the posts on this topic has really made me think about how I am going to handle this. I confided in a few trusted people what my plans are...but I think that when I get the surgery done and I start losing weight I am going to say that I started LA Weightloss again (hell, that's what everyone that I suspect of having had wls told me:lol:) Thanks girlies your input!
  14. Has anyone else stopped taking pictures? The last few years of my life are recorded only in my memory. Whenever I hear "say cheese" my response is "I don't do pictures."
  15. Hey girlies heres a main thread where we can chit chat and talk about whatever!
  16. Girl, now I thought only my panties stopped dropped and rolled-holla!:thumbup::smile2::crying::smile::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol:
  17. I'm down:wink2: I'll start a master thread on our forum and we can shoot the breeze. we can also start threads with specific topics.
  18. Girl Lucy was off the chain and didn't take any mess! Lady, welcome and I hope to join you in band land as soon as I defeat the insurance trolls!
  19. I have called my ins. co. everyday this week and they said that my info.is not showing in the computer. So today I called the ins. coordinator at the dr. office and she said that it was mailed a week ago and it may take a while for it to show as received. She is part of my frustration. She does not return e-mails and the receptionist screens her calls like I was asking to speak to Obama. So today when I finally got her on the phone I was like I know you are busy but I need some attention. This waiting gamei is torture
  20. Hey girl, The only first hand point of reference I have about loose skin is my girlfriend that has had a gastric bypass. She has gone from a size 22 to an 8. She is two years out and looks great! I asked her about loose skin and she says that it is not an issue. She has had c section birth but says the loose skin on her stomach is not an issue. I have seen her in short sleeves, knee shorts and knit shirts and I can tell you-homegirl looks good. What's her secret? Exercise. She has been exercising from day one. I plan on following her example. Also,I have been thinking that a good moisturizer from day one will probably help. At first I thought pure cocoa butter but then it hit me---pure shea butter. You know the clumpy kind? Maybe mix it with an essential so that it won't smell bad. Maybe some Vitamin e as well. So I plan on rubbing down with my concoction everyday. Maybe we could do like a test group amongst ourselves for a few months and collect data on how it works?
  21. Ya'll r so sweet. Thank all of you for taking ownership of this forum, creating new threads and posting replies. Let's keep it going!
  22. Hey ya'll. What's up with everybody? I am trying not to be irritated and impatient :cursing:while waiting on insurance approval. How did those of you that are banded handle this stress? If you are not banded how are you dealing with the insurance game? Pray for your girl. Holla!
  23. You will not be defeated! Whatever hoops they want you to jump through, do it!! Arm yourself with knowledge first. Ask him how much weight specifically. If you get the knee surgery how will that delay your band and will that hinder any efforts that you have at weight loss without the band. I am so sorry that you are in pain. Let's make a plan to get healthy with or without the band. Keep us posted. Let's all pray for each other as we struggle on this journey.
