  1. Hey FireDust! I am 27 years old and I was banded 9-20-07. I have lost 69 lbs so far, I think I've finally hit my "sweet spot", so I hope I continue to lose pretty steady. I started out at 330lbs, I am currently at 261 and I plan on reaching my goal of 150lbs. by 9-20-08. I'm not sure if I will make it, but even if I don't, I'm so happy with my results. I only wish I had done it sooner, but better now than later. I wish you the best of luck on your lapband journey!
  2. Renewed, that's great! NSV's are always so exciting.....you are doing great! My ear is so much better, it's almost completely back to normal and my leg feels better too. Me and DH are going to start walking Monday if the weather permits, it's been raining with thunderstorms here for the past couple of days. I ordered a 2 disc CD set (doctor's orders) to help me sleep and they came in yesterday. I just need to get some new headphones for my Portable CD player (the kind that you stick in your ears). Since I am a stomach and side sleeper, the ones that sit on the head and go over the ears didn't work to well last night. I listened to the "sleepy rain" one last night and I think it's going to help me fall asleep faster. I've gotta do something because I'm getting dark circles under my eyes, and I can't be having that, lol!
  3. I was afraid my dinner last night may have messed up all my hard work this past week, but I was down another pound this morning.........I really think this last fill has helped me a lot!
  4. Congratulations on your weight loss Renewed! That's great! I'll update your stats, make sure it's listed correctly and if it's not, let me know. I hope you're okay over the weekend. Are you able to drink comfortably?
  5. Renewed Congrats on the fill, I hope this one works out. My last one had me eating soft foods for a while, about a week probably. Take it easy and slow and hopefully you will be able to eat okay. Congrats on the kiddos! It just warms my heart to hear that you take in these kids and you love doing it. I now see why you haven't been posting much, lol! Well, I finally got my hubby serious about the cholesterol and diet. We bought new groceries tonight and I threw away ALL the unhealthy stuff. Thanks for the compliment on the weight loss. I've worked hard this week and I hope I didn't ruin all my hard work. DH and I went to applebee's tonight, kinda for a "last supper" meal for him. Well, I ordered the Spinach and Artichoke dip........WITH THE TORTILLAS ! Well, I guess we'll see in the morning.
  6. We do have a walk-in clinic, so if it's bad tomorrow, I'll go ahead and go. Thanks for your concern!
  7. WOW, Neal........you look awesome! WTG!
  8. Thanks. I definitely want mine cut, but I want my face to be a little thinner before I do it. I still think the picture you found online would look good on you. If you do highlights, I think maybe some caramel highlights would look good? Just don't go too light, I like your dark hair. I've never colored mine before, mainly because I don't want to pay to keep it up. What color are you thinking?
  9. I have a picture of a hairstyle that I want after I lose some more weight, the girl has really dark hair like you and me. I wouldn't mind sharing it with you. I'll post and you can see for yourself. I posted it on a different thread last night. I'm just not quite ready to cut mine yet. Sorry if it's a little fuzzy, I took it with my camera phone out of a magazine. Here's a front/side view And here's a side/back view
  10. Ang, I love the picture you found online. You could still do a lot of great things to it for the wedding. I liked you short cut, but I think the picture you found online would look great on you.
  11. Thanks. I've lost that way since the begining. I have gone like a month without losing anything and then all the sudden I'll lose 7-8 lbs in a week.........it's crazy!
  12. I used to have really, really, really thick hair. It's still pretty thick but I have lost a good bit of it since being banded. My face usually looks chubbier than the picture shows, not sure if it's the angle or what, but I assure you, it wouldn't look good right now. I usually wear it curly because it's just easier. I just put some light weight gel all over it and scrunch it really good. I flip my head upside down and blow-dry with a diffuser. I don't know how drastic you want to go with your haircut, but maybe you could start off cutting it a little longer than shoulder length with some layers and go from there. That way you could wear it straight or curly. I try to keep mine cut so I can wear it both ways. I'm a little scared to cut it as short as the style in the picture because I would have to straighten it everyday. I would really have to take up more time styling it. Let us know what you decide to do.
  13. Hah, I think we were posting that at the same time, lol!
  14. The only problem with telling her you had gallbladder surgery is.......what if you actually have to have it removed one day, then you would have to come up with another lie, because you can't have it taken out twice, lol! I agree with mandi, tell her that it's personal and you don't want to discuss it.
  15. I actually do think I have a kidney infection or a urinary tract infection because I have had blood in my urine since last night. I can't see the doctor until Monday because they closed early today, just my luck:rolleyes:. Okay, a kidney or urinary tract infection would explain the back pain episode, but it still doesn't explain the other pain I had on my right side at my ribs. I'm still thinking it could be gallbladder too. My sister is a midwife and she told me that the pain of kidney stones is pretty close to being in labor :tt2:. My pain wasn't anything near that bad. She also said that the pain on my right ribcage was in fact, right where a gallbladder attack would take place. I guess I will know more next week. Until then I will just drink a lot of water.
  16. You know, I was wondering the same thing. I started out a good bit heavier than some of the others and wondered why a smaller person would need a bigger band. Maybe someone will be able to answer that for us. Maybe it was just a personal preference by the patients? I absolutely wore my bra. I don't care how drugged up I was..........I will not go out in public without my bra on! The girls don't deserve any freedom right now, maybe after I lose weight and get a lift, lol!
  17. Down 3 more pounds! Georgia Girl ....... 275 .... 237 ....... 262 ..................... 25
  18. Okay, I am very excited! I had been plateauing for about a week and this morning when I got on the scales, I dropped 3 more pounds! It's so strange how I can go without losing and then...........WAM, drop 3 lbs! Anyway, I'm just so glad to see that the scale is moving in the right direction, lol. Keep up the great work everyone!
  19. Welcome darr5380! Glad you could join us. I added you to the list and good luck to you!
  20. Hi Capina! I know exactly how you are feeling. I was pretty nervous about my surgery too! I'm telling the truth when I say, it's really not that bad. I was expecting the pain to be a lot worse than it was. You will be sore for a while, to me it kind of felt like I had done a ton of situps, just soreness basically. Try not to worry too much about it, it will be over before you know it. Good luck to you!
  21. Since this forum is centered around age, I thought it would be interesting to share the age when we started gaining weight. I'll start: I was pretty thin and athletic until I was about 17 years old, then it came on really fast. Within about 2&1/2 years, I had gained a whopping 100lbs. It just went downhill from there. I've yo-yo dieted for the past 10 years and nothing has worked. Right now, I am the smallest I've been in about 7 years, saying that totally blows my mind! lol How about you all?
  22. I really don't know how many calories, etc. I don't have all the ingredients here with me, so I can't tell you........sorry.
  23. Here is a picture of my hair, I don't think this would work for you since my hair is pretty curly, but thought it would be fun to post it. I can wear my hair straight too if I use the straight Iron on it, but curly is easier, so that's what I usually do. And here is a picture of the hairstyle I want when I lose some more weight(it's from a magazine, so sorry it's a little fuzzy). I don't think it would look good right now. I love this hairstyle, hopefully it won't be out of style when I decide to get it cut, lol!
  24. Thanks for your response Movin On! I went ahead and scheduled an appt for next Wednesday with my family physician. I'd rather catch it early, if that's what it is.
  25. Your welcome. Tomorrow is payday and I've already put these ingredients on my grocery list so I can make it this weekend.
