  1. Yes, I've been meaning to sit down and figure out a date. I just checked out the calendar, what about March 13th (it's on a Thursday)? Let me know what you guys think.
  2. Down another pound today, YAY! I'm officially half way there! How's everyone else doing?
  3. oooooh, I might have to give it a try.........sounds pretty good, except the bubble gum flavor, yuck. I sometimes like to drink skim milk and this might be a good way to flavor it up. Thanks for sharing.
  4. Oh, Renewed.......I know that makes you feel so good! I don't blame you for cying....I almost cried too, it's soooo sweet. You must be doing an awesome job at getting healthy if your 9 year old son is noticing all your hard work. I feel exactly the same way you do, I can't wait to get to goal and can't even imagine what life is going to be like. That's a great NSV for you, WTG and thanks for sharing!

  6. Hello Terryo! I have PCOS too! I have been banded since Sept and have lost 69lbs so far. I am noticing my skin is starting to sag some, but I agree with Losingjusme, I'd rather it sag than be filled with fat. IMO, sagging skin is inevitable for most people who are obese. I chose Lap-band for safety reasons. I just didn't want to take the risks that come with Gastric Bypass. Granted, there are risks with any type of surgery, but I just didn't feel comfortable with the risks of GB. The #1 reason I chose lap-band was because it is reversible if need be. With GB, once you've been re-routed, you can't go back to the way you were before. My advice to you would be to do as much research as possible about both operations and do what you feel is right for you. Good luck to you in whatever decision you make!
  7. Sounds like a great cut. Maybe you can figure out how to post a pic of "new do", I'd love to see it.
  8. Mia, congrats on the NSV! It feels good, doesn't it! I went to church this morning in a pair of dress pants that were pretty much falling off of me. I'll be glad when I get to goal, clothes are so expensive. Anyways, I'd rather wear my pants that are falling off of me than be as big as I was pre-band. I am so grateful for the band. I hope this next fill does the trick for you. It gets so much easier once you have decent restriction. I have had to use a lot of willpower up until my last fill. I've had 5 fills and I think I may at my "sweet spot" (fingers crossed it stays that way). The first fill did absolutely nothing for me. As for the others, I did feel some restriction but it would go away after a week or so.
  9. Hey everyone! I haven't been on LBT until this evening. My son was up just about all night. He's not sick or anything, but I think he had a bad dream and it just scared the mess out of him. So we went to church this morning, then came home and took a nap for a few hours. You know, the weirdest things are happening to me. I thought for sure I had a kidney or urinary tract infection. I don't mean to be graphic but, there was blood when I wiped after urinating and the area was swollen and hurting. Well, today if feels completely normal and no more blood. I don't know what's going on with me, but I'm glad to be feeling better. Brina: I know you are nervous, excited, anxious, scared, etc., but it will be over before you know it. I laughed at your post because I clean when I am nervous or angry about something (I do some of my best cleaning when DH and I have an argument, lol). Try to get some sleep tonight, you've got a big day ahead of you tomorrow. Please let us know how everything went as soon as you feel like posting. Your in my prayers tonight!
  10. I've lost 4 more pounds since I last updated! I am so close to hitting 70lbs. Everyone is doing so great! 11. Thanks Lattedah! I'm sure you are going to do very well with your weightloss. When are you getting banded? Thank you Gloucester. You know, around my eyes is one of the places I've noticed the most change in. When I used to smile, you could barely see my eyes. Thanks again. Tulipstar, you are looking fabulous! I can really tell a difference, keep this up and you'll be a goal before you know it!
  12. Congratulations on your weight loss Darr! I updated your stats, WTG!!!!! Keep up the good wook everyone!
  13. Congrats Juli! You have done an awesome job. We have about the same amount of weight to lose, so you are an inspiration to me. I hope at my 1 year bandiversary I have done as good as you and I hope I am as grateful as you. You are really doing a great job..........congratulations!
  14. Well, we had it for dinner tonight and it was really good. I think I like it a little better with the squash and pesto mixed together. My husband even liked it....... and he is ONE PICKY EATER, LOL! FairlyFacade, I thought adding garlic would be too overwhelming, but now I don't think it would be. I think next time I make it, I'll sautee some onions and garlic to mix with the squash and pesto. Thanks again for the tip!
  15. Thanks, I'll ask her next time I get it trimmed and see what see thinks.
  16. I've been eating these stuffed chicken breast by Sam's choice from Walmart, and they are sooo tender. I have no problem getting them down. They come in like 4 different flavors and they are very figure friendly. Might be worth a try?
  17. Gloucester, you look great! I can really tell a difference in your face. Great job, keep up the great work!
  18. LOL, my DH says the same thing about me and our son! Now, if I could just get him to work on his portion size............
  19. The funny thing is, I used be that way before I was banded. I hated the smell of it and would often gag too! I don't know what has changed, but it doesn't bother me now. I decided I would give it another try and I actually like it. I've been mixing it with a little spaghetti sauce and parmesan cheese, my 2 year old son loves it too! I also sometimes mix it with a little pesto and parmesan. I've been trying a lot of new things lately........getting banded has definitely changed my tastes somehow!
  20. I think it looks awesome! It's so hip and stylish and you have the option to wear it straight and sleek too! I think you made the right decision. Your face is made for shorter hair, IMO. Do you have thick or thin hair? My hair is thick and I was wondering if it is too thick for that cut. It will probably be a few months before I cut it, but I was just wondering.
  21. I've never had a problem with chicken, in fact, I've never pb'ed on anything. I ate half of a chicken breast tonight with no problem and I'm pretty tight right now. Since my last fill, I have to take much smaller bites and chew it even more, but can still get it down okay. It may just be one of those foods you can't tolerate. Have you tried canned chicken? It's pretty soft, so it might work for you? I haven't been a canned meat fan until now. I've gotten pretty creative with flavoring canned chicken up. Sorry you have to go on liquids. Is chicken the only think you pb on?
  22. I've always carried most of my weight in my upper body. I don't know how much they measured pre-band, but they are a whopping 18 inches now! I measured the biggest part of my arm. I still have about 110 pounds to lose, so it will be interesting to see how much I lose in my arms. Oh, I've lost 69lbs so far.
  23. What about Ginger Maraschino? I know you like Ginger, and maraschino cherries are red, I think Maraschino sounds a little more classy than Cherry, lol!
  24. I kinda like Scarlett Ginger. I really like the Ginger part and I hope you go with that no matter what. Oh, my stripper name doesn't sound very erotic to me ........it's Princess Sunny Tower.
  25. I updated the original recipe with exact measurments and listed the nutritional information. We are having it for dinner tonight and I've already mixed it up. I mixed the spaghetti squash with the pesto, then topped with cheese. Either way will work, I've had it layered and it was good, so I'll let you know if taste the same mixed.
