Dr. John Bagnato - Bagnato Bandits
Glad to hear your surgery went well Allykat! I really didn't have a whole lot of gas right after surgery. I did notice I had more gas when I began eating, I took the chewable gas-x for that and it seemed to really help. I've heard that walking helps more than anything, so you're on the right track. Get lots of rest and take it easy for a while. Let us know if you have anymore questions.

Dr. John Bagnato - Bagnato Bandits
I'm pretty sure I didn't start to feel hungry for at least 4 weeks, maybe 5 (I don't remember exactly). I do think I had more swelling than most people though, so maybe that had something to do with it.

Biggest Loser
ummmmm, yeah, I thought the same thing. I can't believe he made that soap opera comment to Alison and then acted like THAT! Maybe they will have an all ladies show one day??????

Baked Spaghetti Fake Out
Oooooo, that sounds good! Thanks for sharing! I didn't miss the noodles either in this recipe. My 2 year old son even liked it.

Baked Spaghetti Fake Out
That's funny...........but up until a couple of months ago, I really didn't know what they were either. I didn't know one squash from the other, lol. Actually the spaghetti squash kinda reminds me of a pumpkin, in it's smell and the seeds look like pumpkin seeds.

losing friends
It's sad to say, but friends come and go for whatever reason. Sometimes I think life just gets in the way. DH and I lost our very best friends a couple of years ago (not due to weight loss). I still miss them, but life goes on. If you think weight loss is the reason for this distance between you, I think you should bring it up. I mean, if they are your true friends, and want to salvage your friendship, I think they probably wouldn't mind discussing it with you. I hope it works out for you!

Baked Spaghetti Fake Out
Your welcome. Let me know if you like it. Granted, it's not going to taste exactly like real spaghetti, but like I said, I really didn't miss the noodles.

Spaghetti Squash Pesto Casserole
I really don't think it would be too much, because I use less pesto than my sister did (because it is pretty high in calories and fat). She probably used a cup and I only use 1/2 cup, so I think it would be okay.

Hitman, Good luck with your procedure too! Try not worry too much. I assure you, this is the best decision I've ever made regarding my health. Where are you from and where are you having your sugery?

Allykat, The zappy wrist thing looks kinda like a watch that goes around your wrist and it sends tiny shocks through your wrist and it help with the nausea. Everyone else said it worked wonders for them, but I was still nauseous. Bamboobabe is right, keep that ointment on your wrist and it's not that bad. It starts to hurt slightly if it gets too dry. Good luck with your surgery tomorrow. Try not to worry too much and get a good night sleep tonight. Your in my prayers and please let us know how you are doing as soon as you feel like posting.

Brina, I am so glad you home and doing so well. If you get nauseated again, you can call Dr. B's office and they can call you in some Phenergan suppositories (not fun to use, but it really helped me). Beware if you use it, it will make you extremely sleepy, so you can't forget to wake up to drink your fluids. Let us know if you have any questions and we will be glad to answer what we can. Take it easy.

I'm So Sick Of These Commercials!!!!
I just saw that commercial!!! Oh, I hate them too! It's not enought that they say the phrase once, noooooo they have to say it like 3 times. I think it's ridiculous!

Are you out of town that whole week or just the 13th? Maybe we could try to meet on the 11th? I'm just curious, are you a supervisor at the post office? My husband is a city carrier in Moultrie and has thought about getting into the supervisor part of it, but he just can't make up his mind. He's likes his route so he will more than like just stick with that. I actually took the test to work in the post office and scored really high on it a few years ago. No openings were available in this area though, then we decided I would stay at home with our son, so it worked out for the best.

Moo Magic
Hey Jeannie, I bought some of the chocolate today, but I haven't tried it yet. I'm way under my calories today, so I think I may have a glass later tonight. Yeah, it amazes me how kids flip out over bubble gum flavored stuff. I hate bubble gum flavored anything! Bubble gum flavored milk sounds soooo nasty. I'm excited to see how the chocolate tastes though!

Baked Spaghetti Fake Out
I guess I'm on a spaghetti squash kick because I made spaghetti squash again tonight. This is a tasty way to enjoy spaghetti with out the guilt of all those noodles. Ingredients: 1 spaghetti squash 1 tablespoon EVOO Salt & pepper 1 lb. extra lean ground beef (96/4) 2 cloves garlic, minced or grated 3 cups Ragu spaghetti sauce (old world style) Italian seasoning to taste 1/2 cup shredded Parmesan cheese Directions: Cut squash in half, lengthwise, and spoon out the seeds. Brush with EVOO and sprinkle with salt & pepper. Lay both pieces, face-down, on a cookie sheet lined with nonstick aluminum foil and bake at 350 for at least an hour, maybe longer. (Bake until skin is very very soft if you want the consistency to be like noodles). Let them cool completely. Meanwhile, brown ground beef, drain and put back in pan. Add garlic and cook for a minute. Then add spaghetti sauce, salt & pepper to taste, and Italian seasoning to taste. Let it simmer for about 20-30 minutes. Once squash is cooled, rake out the squash into a mixing bowl with a fork. Add sauce mixture and toss well. Put the mixture in a baking dish and top with Parmesan cheese. Bake until cheese is melted. I really didn't miss the noodles with this one. It was very tasty. Here's the nutritional information: Serving size is 1/8 of recipe (which is a good size portion) Calories- 117 Fat- 5g Carbs- 7g Protein- 9g

Help, I offered to throw a baby shower....
You could always play the dirty diaper game! Here's how to play it: Fold small white napkins or squares of fabric into little diapers and fasten with a diaper pin. Place an opened candy kiss in one of them. Give them to guests as they arrive at the party. Warn them that one may be a dirty diaper and they'll get to change it when everybody has arrived. Have everyone open their diapers together at some point during the party and the one with the kiss wins a door prize.

"Green" Day Challenge
Thanks darr! I've heard many bandsters say that they feel more restriction during their TOM. It's hasn't effected me that way yet, but it does for many. That could definitely be why you feel more restricted. Also, I think the band just has a mind of it's own sometimes, lol! Occasionally I'll have more restriction for a couple of days and then it's back to the way it was.

That's great Renewed! I'll update your stats. Congratulations on being so close to onderland, I'm excited for you. How are you doing since your fill? You are obviously doing good on the weight loss, but are you still too tight?

allykat, It really all depends on how much swelling your stomach has after the surgery. Some people have no problem sipping after surgery. I must have had a lot of swelling because I could barely sip without having severe pain. You do have to be careful with dehydration. I was nauseated for a solid week after surgery, and I'm pretty sure it was due to dehydration. Terry told me to just take a small sip every 15 minutes. Hopefully you will be able to drink more than that, lol! I think it was at week 3, that I was able to drink "normal" with the exception of gulping, of course. If you are feeling a lot of pressure when drinking after surgery, just slow down and take small sips. You probably won't be able to get in the recommended 64oz. right away, you'll have to build up to it. Don't worry too much, it will all be okay. I hope this helps.
