  1. Okay, if you are looking for a savory way to fix cottage cheese, I made a good one today. I melted 1 wedge of light laughing cow garlic herb cheese in the microwave for about 25 seconds. Added 1/2c. cottage cheese, 1 tsp. of pesto, and 2-3 tbsp of spaghetti sauce and mixed it well. It was really good. It kind of taste like the filling in lasagna!
  2. Zippykat, my heart goes out to you. I'm so sorry you had to go through that. You seem like a very strong person and I'm so glad you are starting to feel better about yourself. 63 lbs is AMAZING!!! Thanks for sharing your story, you never know who has gone through the same thing, and reading your story could help someone else. God bless!
  3. I really haven't been posting on this thread as much because I didn't want to be a downer, but I've been having a really hard time this past week. I've been snacking at night a lot and just not sticking to the plan very well. Tonight I had a huge brownie and ice cream and I just feel sick about it. I know I can't eat perfect all the time, but I just feel bad about it. It's my TOM and I always have severe cravings during this time. I'm usually pretty good at handling the cravings, but not this time. I didn't want to post this because I see it as weakness for some reason. I don't see it as weakness in other people when someone else post they are having a hard time, just when it's me. I'm not sure if this makes sense to anyone, it's hard to explain. I hate feeling this way. I feel like a complete failure this week, I've actually gained a couple of pounds. I'm just mad at myself for not being stronger. Sorry to be a downer, but thanks for listening. On a happier note, I did go shopping over the weekend and had a pretty good experience. I've gone from a very tight 26/28 to a comfortable 22, so I was happy about that.
  4. Brina, I know how you feel. I am certain I am going to need PS. I mean, I've got almost 200lbs to lose:eek:. It is scary, but I would much rather be healthy and have loose skin, than be unhealthy and have fat rolls everywhere, lol. I pretty much told DH that we better start saving now, because I'm definitely gonna need it! I had this surgery for health reasons, first and foremost, but I'm still young and I think the PS is going to be necessary for me to completely feel good about myself. I plan on getting the works........a LBL, breast reduction and/or a breast lift, and a brach. It scares me to death, but I'm pretty sure I'll end up having it done. Oh, at church tonight, we had a speaker who had gastric bypass surgery. He was 454lbs when he had the surgery and now he weighs 175lbs. Looking at him, you would never know he was overweight. He told us that he did NOT have PS, but he didn't have a lot of extra skin. I just can't imagine losing 275lbs and not having a lot of extra skin. I wanted to sit down and talk with him and ask him what exercises he did, but there were so many people around, I couldn't get him away to talk about it. I mean, I can look at myself now and I already know I'm going to need PS, but it was an inspiration to see someone lose that much weight and not need PS. I think sometimes men carry their weight differently than women, so I don't know if that had anything to do with it or not. I guess I'll cross that path when it comes. Until then, I'm going to focus on getting healthy. Everyone is doing a great job, keep up the good work!!
  5. Wow, Jonathan!!! You look great! I can tell a big difference!!
  6. This sounds good!! I don't eat pork chops, but I think I'll try it with chicken. Thanks for sharing!!
  7. Great, I'm glad you liked it! I thought about trying it with a garlic and herb crumbly cheese, I think it would add lots of flavor!
  8. I am staying on plan today because I went shopping last night and I actually had a good time. I was able to try on clothes without crying, lol! It felt good and motivates me to try to fit in smaller sizes next time I go.
  9. Yes, that is normal. It was quite a while before I was hungry. Even though you don't have a fill yet, you're still swollen from surgery. Once your swelling goes down, you'll be able to tell a difference and you may begin to feel a little hungry. Congrats on your surgery and good luck!
  10. oooooh, orange cream sounds good, I'll have to look for that one! I tried the chocolate and it's really good.
  11. Thinking of you............let us know how it goes!
  12. Hehehehe! I looked it up on the net and found an article that said it was an Urban legend name. But, it also said that the Shithead and Male and Female ones were too! Someone else mentioned that they had students named that, so who knows? Anyway, I thought it was quite comical. Here's the link Pregnancy & Parenting: Name News
  13. Boo Boo Kity Did you decide on Ginger Butler? I like the fact that you incorporated your love of Gone With The Wind, very personable.
  14. :lol:Poor guy, I would definitely pay to have my name changed, lol!
  15. You mean there's no sewer crocs, lol? I am a little gullible, but all I can tell you is, that is what she told me. It didn't sound like a joke when she said it, ::shrugs shoulders::
  16. Congrats, that's a great NSV!!! I can't wait till I get there, I do the fake out now. But that's a NSV for me, because I used to not even be able to fake it, lol!
  17. ooooh, feta sounds good too! Let me know how it turns out. Last time I made it, I mixed some cheese in with the spaghetti squash and pesto, and some additional on top! It was very good. There are lots of additional things that could be done with this recipes. Sauteed onions and garlic would be good, or any other veggies you like could be thrown in. Have fun with it!
  18. Good luck, hope you get the job!!!
  19. Yes, I agree too! America definitely had it right with the guys and I think they got it right with the girls. I thought Asiah and Kristy were pretty close to being even, so IMO, it could have been either one of them. Kady definitely needed to go. Was it just me, or did her whole song sound out of tune? I didn't like it at all. I think the guys and the girls are pretty equal too, it could be that we are just used to the girls having more talent, from previous years, and now we finally have a lot of majorly talented guys this year. I think we're just not used to the guys being as good. I really like Jason Castro, David Cook, Brooke White, and Amanda. Even though Brooke and Amanda are total opposites, I like them both, very unique.
  20. Congratulations, Mia!!! YAY!!! :crying: That's great, I'll update your stats!!! To the rest of us, we still have time, WE CAN DO THIS!!!!
  21. Soooooo, what did you guys think about the elimination? I think America got it right. I wasn't surprised by the 2 guys that were sent home. I was a little surprised by the girls. I kinda figured Kady was going, but it was really a toss up between Kristy and Asiah. I did feel bad for Asiah because I thought she did really good and I feel bad about what she's been through, just losing her father.
  22. Whoa, I started out Superobese (54.9 BMI) and now I am on the lower end of Morbidlyobese (42.9 BMI). I still have a long way to go but it does help me realize how far I'm come when I look back at where I was. I'm going to be soooo excited when I'm just obese, then overweight, then NORMAL!!!! It's gonna be great!!
  23. I agree with that. I was still very overweight when I was pregnant and I only gained 20lbs and most of that was swelling and retaining Fluid. I was on bed-rest for the last month of my pregnancy because I was soooo swollen. I didn't have gestational diabetes, but I made sure I ate pretty healthy. My son was a healthy 8lbs. 2oz, so I agree, you don't have stuff yourself for the baby to get enough nutrients.
  24. Congratulations! How exciting! It just goes to show that weight loss can do wonders for us PCOSers. I've been diagnosed with PCOS for about 8 yrs (I've had it for longer than that though). I lost a bunch of weight a few years ago doing the atkins diet. We had been trying for a long time previous to the weight loss. I lost a total of 50lbs and before I knew it, I was pregnant. I now have a 2 year old son. I know it had everything to do with losing weight. Congrats again and keep us posted on how you are doing!
  25. I hear ya, there's no way I could have done this without insurance. I'm a SAHM and we live on my husbands income only. I'm so grateful that I was able to have this surgery. I will definitely keep you in my prayers. Please keep us posted on your progress! Here is a step by step link: http://www.lapbandtalk.com/f5/ticker-tutorial-pictures-41782/ This explains it way better than I could.
