Say No To Carbs 2 Day Challenge...come Join Me
We went over to our friends house tonight, she cooked chili so I had a small bowl. Other than that, I've had one protein shake, 3 bottles of water, a cup of coffee, and a cup of chai tea. 2 days down.......... I can already tell I am feeling better. Today I haven't been craving all that bad, better than yesterday. I bet tomorrow I won't be craving at all!! I'm excited to see what the scales say tomorrow. Tomorrow may be my last day doing this, I don't know for sure. I could possibly decide to go another day, we'll see. The thing that really surprises me, is when I do this, I'm not focused on food all day and it gives me a chance to really listen to my body. I really haven't been very hungry, so that proves to me that I still have a lot of head hunger issues. Late at night is really only time I feel hungry and I've been having a cup of chai tea to hold me over and it's been working pretty good. Everyone is doing great, keep up the good work!

LOL, had to laugh at the Bridezilla comment. My sister's wedding plans are coming along quite nicely. She rented a big beach house for all the family to stay in the whole week before the wedding, so I am really excited to vacation for a week. Your right, there is soooo much planning involved in a wedding. I am singing at her wedding, so I've really got to start practicing my song, lol. How is your planning going?

Anyone else watch Wildfire?
It comes on ABC Family. It's about 2 rival families that are in the horse racing business. Wildfire is the name of the star horse. It really appeals to audiences of all ages. They have younger characters (like college age) that make the show very interesting. I'm really sad to see it go off.

That lady at the top.
I say we call her the "apples make me want to touch myself lady"

Anyone else watch Wildfire?
I absolutely love this show and I am crushed that it is going off the air. I hate it when I get into a show and they pull it, makes me mad. Anyone else watch it?

Food Network/ Food TV Shows
Wow! You sound just like me! I was just telling my hubby over the weekend that I wanted Rachael Ray's cooking set and knives. I hope he took the hint because my birthday is coming up next month, hehehe. I think Rachael Ray is the kind of person you either love, or you hate. I absolutely love to watch her cook and I love The Rachael Ray show too. I DVR it everyday. I noticed that she is cooking a lot healthier lately by doubling up on the veggies in her dishes and using whole wheat Pasta.

Food Network/ Food TV Shows
I watch food network all the time! I love cooking shows. So far, it hasn't bothered me, even when I was on liquids. I love 30 minute meals, and the new competition show, Ultimate Recipe Showdown. There are definitely some shows I try to stay away from, like Paula's Home Cooking, simply because she cooks the most unhealthy foods in the world, lol. I call her the Butter Queen, lol. I've never heard of the show you were talking about, does it come on the food network, what time?

"Green" Day Challenge
Did you have a fill right before you left, or after you got back? Or do you think it has something to do with the change in the atmosphere? I've heard people say that when they travel on airplanes they get tighter, I just wondered if traveling by boat could do the same thing. Anyway, congrats! I hope it continues to stay that way for you.

Get Moving Thread for Week of 3/10
Great idea, Allykat! I am not an exercise lover at all! I plan on joining the YMCA as soon as I can save up enough money to pay for a years membership (I hoping I will have enough saved up to start at the beginning or middle of April). Until then, I will try to get moving more. I don't like to walk, so I will probably alternate between strength training and jump roping. Monday- nothing  Tuesday- 20 minutes strength training Wednesday- jump rope Thursday- 20 minutes strength training Friday- jump rope Saturday- 20 minutes strenght training Sunday- Nothing, too busy between church that morning, choir practice, and evening service.

I think I have found my home ;)
Hi Dekonte! Sorry, I don't know anything about Peachtree Bariatrics, but I just wanted to say welcome. I was banded by Dr. Bagnato in Albany, Ga in Sept 2007. Good luck to you and keep us posted on your journey!

Say No To Carbs 2 Day Challenge...come Join Me
LiseSeattle posted a good way to make a homemade frappuccino on the food forum and it's really good. She used milk, slim fast powder, and ice. I modified it a liitle and used lots of ice, canned low carb slim fast, and a little black coffee. I blended it in my magic bullet and ate it with a spoon. It taste like you are having a treat that should be bad for you. It was good, a nice way to spruce up a shake. I assume it would work with the atkins shakes too, or any low carb shake for that matter.

Say No To Carbs 2 Day Challenge...come Join Me
Thanks Renewed! Even though you ate food, your choices were still low carb, so that's good. I'm glad you are feeling better. I'll be eating a small bowl of chili tonight, but that's still pretty low carb, so it's not too bad. I have 4 more pounds to lose in exactly a week to meet my goal, so I'm hoping I will make it. I didn't make the last one and I just felt awful about it. WE CAN DO IT!!!!

American Idol '08
I agree with you on Blake's performance. I loved him last year, although I thought Jordin was better. I'm not sure if it was nerves or what, but he sounded off to me too! It's almost like he couldn't quite find the right notes. I still really like him a lot, I just think he had a bad case of the nerves or he just had an off night. Right now, I'm liking Jason Castro, David Cook, Brooke White, and Amanda (can't remember her last name). There is a lot of hype about Carly, but I'm just not feeling her. She sounds too much like Celine Dion to me. Celine Dion is great, but there only needs to be one of her, lol.

Dr. John Bagnato - Bagnato Bandits
Yay!!! It pays to be bias sometimes I guess, lol. I'm glad you don't have to sit through that all week, especially since you are feeling sick. Are you feeling any better? Yesterday I only did 2 low carb slim fasts and A LOT of water. I did have a cup of chai tea last night, but it has no calories, no carbs, no nothing really. I don't know how many I will do today, I have vowed to myself that I will only have one if I am truly hungry. I have to eat chili tonight because some friends of ours invited us the their house and they are cooking chili, so I think it would be rude to decline the food. So I am going to do water and shakes today and have a very small bowl of chili tonight. Then tomorrow, it's back to shakes and water only. Since you are getting a fill, this is the perfect time for you to do this, since you can't eat anyway. I don't do this very often, this is my second time in the 6 months I've been banded. It just helps me with the cravings and it also helps me control my food. Last time, it showed me that most of the time, I eat just to eat, I'm not actually hungry most of the time. It's not a bad thing to do every 4-5 months. I don't recommend doing this often because a liquid diet is not good for us on a regular basis, of course. A successful bandster on this website recommended doing this (I can't remember who it was now), anyway, it really did help me the first time around. Good luck.

Lapband And Pcos
I actually did NOT take metformin before I had lap-band surgery. I went to an endocrinologist back in November and she put me on Actos Metformin then. I cut my pill into 3 pieces and take it at night. By night time, my band has loosened up quite a bit and I haven't had any trouble taking it if I cut it up. You need to make sure that you don't get the time-released capsules if you are going to cut them up. I do think the metformin has helped me with the weight loss. Good luck to you.
