Couch to 5k.....come join me!!
I am in agreement with all of you. Michael Phelps ROCKS! I am loving the Olympics this year, especially the swimming. I do not understand how his body endures all the swims he participates in. They named off his 'typical' breakfast and it's more than most of us eat in a day! I'd say he needs it, lol. I did the Wii Fit for a total of 52 minutes tonight! That hula hoop one really gets my heart going!

Renewed~ You have become a wonderful friend of mine. I think you are so AMAZING. We've shared a lot with each other through PM's and I know you and your DH love each and every one of those kids. I'm in total awe of ya'll because I don't think I could have made the sacrifices ya'll did for those kids. I too believe God has a plan for those kids and ya'll played a big part in it, but there is more to come. We are here for you. That's what I love about this thread, it feels like family. Hang in there. I'm sending you big cyber hugs and praying for your family.

Dr. John Bagnato - Bagnato Bandits
I have found it best to keep chip out of my house, period. They are also my weakness. I normally don't keep them in the house, but we had a church youth party at our house last weekend and there are 3 different kinds of chips leftover. They have been calling my name too! I have given in a few times and I want them GONE! My DH loves chips too, so I guess I'm just gonna have to get some willpower and resist. It's so hard though. Chips are PURE EVIL!! :Banane37:

RIP Bernie Mac
First I've heard of it too. Very sad though.

I've been watching the Olympics and the breaststroke looks really hard to do. I've just been freestyling. I'm not sure if the Y in Moultrie has that kind of lessons. They have adult swim lessons but I'm not sure if that's technique lesssons or just swimming lessons. Interesting though....

Dr. John Bagnato - Bagnato Bandits
I am enjoying swimming but it's a lot harder than I remember, lol. It tires me out much more than running, probably because you use your whole body. Did you swim in school? Do you just freestyle swim or do something else?

Dr. John Bagnato - Bagnato Bandits
Thanks Les! I bought a one-piece the other night and I felt much more comfortable swimming in that. I wear my little skirt with it too. Do you go to the recreation swim or the lap swim? I've just been doing laps during the recreation swim time. That way, DH and DS can go too. We take turns swimming laps and swimming with DS.

I'm so glad to hear from everyone! Brina, you are right, those places are sinfully good! I am from Moultrie too, so next time you are here, give Mia and me a holler. I've been doing pretty well and I am ready to start running again! I'm going to the Ortho on Friday to have my knee checked out. It feels pretty good right now, probably because I haven't ran in a week. I promised DH I wouldn't run until I got it checked out so I guess I have to keep my word, lol. My restriction level has been pretty good most days. Making myself eat the right foods has been a big problem though. I was sooooo focused when I started C25K and eating good, and now that I'm not running, I am struggling with the food a bit. I think I have lost my focus.

The swimming relay that team USA won was fantastic!! I thought it was sooo funny that France had to eat their words, lol!

Fage Total 0% Sooooo good!
I haven't been able to find the Fage brand in my town. I did find Oikos Organic 0% Greek Yogurt and it's good. I bought plain, vanilla, and blueberry. Blueberry is my favorite. Does anyone watch Healthy Appetite with Ellie Krieger? She uses greek yogurt all the time. She uses it in coleslaw, lobster salad, crab salad and many others too. She mixes it with just a little mayo. Might be worth a try....

Mamato3~ I feel your pain! Not running has been torture! The RICE thing really helped out with my knee. Hope your hip gets better soon. Renewed~ Girl, we are so much alike it's scary! I have battled with that all or nothing mentality for as long as I can remember. It has gotten a lot better but since I am not running, I find it's really hard to get into anything else. Some days I feel like just quitting everything but I'm trying really hard to push through it. It's a head thing. Glad you let your body catch up. I'm sure you will feel much better now! Sugar~ Good luck at your appointment! I hope your legs are healing nicely. Leslie~ I know, 70 laps is insane!! I could barely do ONE without stopping! It's so weird how different activities effect us in different ways. Kathy~ Enjoy golfing with DH! Kick his butt, lol!! Tootie and Jeannie~ Congrats on starting week 2! Ya'll don't worry too much about speed right now. It will come in time. Just go at a speed that you feel comfortable with. My knee was a little stiff last night from walking on the treadmill and I expected it to be really sore today, but it feels fine. Now I'm thinking I could have ran but I will try to refrain until my appointment. DH did week 1 day 1 of C25K last night. I am so proud of him! I've been 'hinting' that I wanted him to do it with me. I haven't 'hinted' in the last week or so, and without telling me, he downloaded the podrunner intervals and started doing it. I was so excited! He expected to be sore today but this morning he said he wasn't sore at all.

Need a recipe to cure my japanese craving
Here's a link that might help --> Discovering Spaghetti Squash - - FabulousFoods.com I cut the spaghetti squash in half (lengthwise) and using a spoon, scoop out the seeds and discard. Brush a little EVOO on both halves, sprinkle with a little salt and pepper and put them face down on a cookie sheet and bake at 375 for about an hour. Until very tender. When done, let cool enough to handle and using a fork, scrape the squash out of the shell. It looks like spaghetti noodles. Pretty cool and I love the taste!

I've always heard to drink milk after workouts too! I usually do a protein shake, made with milk. I was going to do the C25k on the elliptical this afternoon, but they were all taken! I waited a little while but then decided just to walk on the treadmill. It took all I could not to run. DH was on the treadmill beside me and I think he could tell I was about to up the speed and he gave me "the look". Bless his heart, he is really supportive and only wants what is best for me. I decided to just stick to walking though. Leslie, I walked into the pool area and glanced at the lap sign. From one side to the other (1 lap) = 25 yards. 70 laps make a mile!! That blows my mind! That's a lot of laps!!

Need a recipe to cure my japanese craving
Hey Becky! I like Shogun too! I LOVE the Hibachi chicken but I've only had it once since being banded. I like sushi too! Sorry I don't have any recipes to cure your cravings but maybe if you google Healthy Japanese Recipes, you can find a good one. I don't eat a lot of rice since being banded, but I have used Spaghetti Squash as a substitute for Spaghetti Noodles in a baked spaghetti fake out recipe, and it turned out really well. Maybe you could use it as a rice substitute (kinda like lo mein noodles) with a japanese chicken recipe. The squash mixed with the japanese sauce might be pretty tasty. Just a thought...

Creamy Spinach Chicken Salad
Cool! I'm glad your family liked the recipes! I use this spinach dip ALL THE TIME on lots of stuff. I always substitute mayo for the spinach dip in just about everything.
