Couch to 5k.....come join me!!
Bonnie~ Sorry about your ipod. I'm glad you got your mp3 player working though. Kathy~ Glad to hear you're doing okay. Congrats on rocking your interview! I hope it works out! I am going to have to make myself take some days off from running. Although my knee wasn't hurting that bad last night, this morning I could barely walk. This is definitely the worst is has felt yet. I ended up making an appointment with an orthopedic doctor for next Friday. I don't think anything is seriously wrong, but I want to make sure everything is okay before I make it worse. So, I will be here cheering ya'll on from the side lines for a few days. Everyone is doing such an awesome job!!

'registering' for birthday gifts??
Losing, it's not just the hormones. I have never heard of this either. That sounds a little over the top to me. Of course, we've all heard of regestering for wedding gifts and baby showers, but birthdays???? That's a new one.....

Couch to 5k.....come join me!!
Les, right now I have a pair of Nike Shox running shoes. I know they are not top of the line by any means, but they seem to be working good. Mine felt a little heavy too at first, but feel fine now.

Smothered Crockpot Meatloaf!!
You might could also use 2.25 lbs of lean ground beef instead of using the beef and pork. Not sure if that would change the cooking time, but that may cut back on the fat.....just a thought.

Couch to 5k.....come join me!!
Mamato3~ Whooo Hooooo!! WTG girl!! You are doing soooo good!!! Leslie~ I think you will be surprised. I stayed on week 2 a few extra days and I think that really helped me. I had no trouble with week 3 today, even running through part of my cool down, lol. I went in thinking...NO WAY, but it wasn't as hard as I thought. I love this program!! LYN~ I did day 1 week 1 with no music and a stopwatch. That was the hardest run I've had to do yet! I think not having music played a big part in that. So, I can't go without music either now. Serenity~ Congrats on finishing week 4! Good job!!

Couch to 5k.....come join me!!
Okay, woke up this morning and my ankle and knee felt fine. I decided to go the the gym and attempt day 1 week 3. To my surprise, the 3 minute intervals were not bad at all!! YAY!!!! I'm a little confused though. I think I may have run through some of my cool down. Should I be walking when the cool down starts? I ran for like 3 minutes and still didn't hear a chime so I stopped running and started walking. 2 minutes later the music completely stopped. Is there a 5 minute cool down or am I supposed to run for 5 minutes at the end???? My knee is bothering me a tad, but noting unbearable. I'm icing it now.

Stress Fractures? Over-exercising?
Bsides, it sounds like we kinda have the same problem, except my problem is my left knee. I started the couch to 5k about a month ago and I noticed last week that my knee was slightly hurting after my runs. I always take a rest day in between my runs. My knee is usually fine on those days but it does start feeling stiff and sore at night. I've been icing it and elevating it when I can. I also twisted my left ankle again yesterday (second time in the last month!) so I figured I better take a few days off and try to get them better. If the problem persists, I guess I will go to the doctor. Hope your foot gets better soon!

Smothered Crockpot Meatloaf!!
It kinda mixes in with the gravy. A little of the gravy goes a long way, so no need to go overboard with it. I used a slotted spoon to dip it and that probably helped some too.

Smothered Crockpot Meatloaf!!
This is by no means the healthiest meal, but it is sooooo good. Eaten in moderation, it's fine. My picky 2 year old son ate more of this than me and my hubby put together! Ingredients: 4 cups Potatoes O'Brien (Ore-Ida), frozen 1 pound lean ground beef 1.25 pounds ground pork 1 box Kraft shake and Bake, whatever flavor you prefer ( I used regular and added just a pinch of garlic powder- it doesn't need much) 1 envelope Lipton Beefy Onion Soup Mix 1 (4.5 oz) jar Sliced Mushrooms, drained 1 egg 1 (12 oz) can condensed Cheddar Soup, divided 1/2 cup evaporatd milk 1 (10 oz) can condensed Cream of Mushroom Soup 1 onion, sliced thin 1 (8 oz) pkg sliced fresh mushrooms Directions: Spread frozen potatoes evenly in the bottom of a 5-qart slow cooker. In a large bowl, combine ground beef, ground pork, shake and bake, onion soup mix, sliced mushrooms (jar), and egg. Set aside. In a small bowl, whisk together 1/2 c cheddar soup and 1/2 c evaporated milk until smooth. Add to meat mixture. Using a wooden spoon or clean hands, mix thoroughly and form into a loaf. (my crockpot is round, so I used a christmas cookie tin to form my loaf. Once packed in, use a butter knife around the egde to loosen and flip upside down into the crockpot [it should fall right out], on top of potatoes.) Make sure meatloaf does not touch the sides of the slow cooker. Whisk together remaining cheddar soup with cream of mushroom soup. Pour over meatloaf. Top with onions and fresh mushrooms. Cover and cook on HIGH setting for 1 hour. Reduce the temperature to LOW setting and cook for an additional 5-6 hours. The potatoes, mushrooms, onions and soup gravy is sooooo good spooned over the sliced meatloaf!

Serenity~ Welcome! Sounds like you are doing great! Keep up the good work! Leslie~ Hope you and your kiddo are feeling better. Renewed~ Can't wait until you get your PS!! How exciting!! You are mighty driven aren't you? LOL. Good job on the run!! Sugarbean~ Glad your leg is feeling better. Hope you are able to run soon. Good luck! Lyn~ Congrats on your clearance to run! That's awesome! I couldn't even imagine myself running 3 weeks after my surgery. Glad you are doing well and good luck with the running! Well, I am going to have to forfeit my runs, at least a few days. My ankle is bothering me much more today than it was yesterday. My knee does really well during the day and starts getting stiff and sore at night. I'll continue doing the RICE for a few days and see if it helps. I'm gonna miss doing my run today, but I think I need the days off to recooperate. I guess if they are not better in a few days, I need to go to the doctor.
