Forsythia got a reaction from catdaddy in Coffee
Regular caffeinated coffee daily with a scoop of body fortress vanilla Protein and a shot of hazelnut or caramel sugar free Syrup. Coffee is fresh off the brewer when I make my drink. So quite hot. Body Fortress mixes in the best of all the brands I've tried. Other brands don't mix very well without me pulsing the mix in my blender. Don't like going through all that.

Forsythia got a reaction from ProudGrammy in How many times a week or month do you weigh yourself?
Every day. But then I can track a pattern and notice if I'm slacking off, or regaining. I don't actually record said weigh in down. Just mentally, I make a note of it. But if it's making you cray, put the scale away.
    Oh look, I rhymed.

Forsythia got a reaction from Inner Surfer Girl in Has anyone actually gained the week after surgery?
I gained 12 lbs in the hospital. That's a bowling ball of Water weight, yo.
Also, calibration. Your scale is not calibrated to the same specifics as the one you weigh on in the hospital. Mine weighs me 4lbs less than the one at my surgeon's office consistently. So I know when I make my appointments with them, I'm going to have to mentally add on 4lbs.

Quest bars. Sold at GNC.They make a couple of them that taste like Cookies. And there is one that tastes like a cinnamon roll. And a lemon bar. They all have like 20 grams of Protein and a bunch of Fiber. Otherwise I would honestly say to make your own cookies and throw in unflavored Protein Powder into the mix to at least make your snack worthwhile.

Yes, you do have to skip if you are not going to buy. But you can buy at any time after that. So just remember to log on and skip the month. In fact, I skip every month. But then sometimes I buy later anyhow.

I got a gift card to Macy's for Christmas and got a Kenise dress (I didn't see the one I liked online from my first post) but I had been eyeing this one below as well, and it was on sale for $17 (swearsies). I got cobalt blue since I'm a colorful girl. But it is super cute with tights and boots.

Forsythia got a reaction from auntjanny in Hair loss!
I've always had fine, thin hair (its naturally curly, but as you can see I flat Iron the curl out to within in inch of its life). I have not experienced any significant loss. And I did NOTHING special. I took my Vitamins. I generally got at least 60 g of Protein each day, and mostly got my Water. But I was not particularly hardcore about things if I was only 57 g of protein on one day. Hair loss is how your body reacts to trauma like surgery, and anesthesia. So if you are following the rules and eating correctly you still might lose hair depending on how your body is going to react to things.
Rock a wig. Get creative with hats and scarves. Know that hair will grow back.

I agree with @@Forsythia but my word of advice would be to be honest as possible when using MFP. I don't ever use the quick add calories because to me the macro nutrients are just as important. Especially if you are using prepackaged foods. Sure something might be low in calories, but if it's high in sodium you may not lose because of Fluid retention. Looking at your macros will help you see those types of things.

I think the dominant app/website people tend use is my fitness pal. You can sync your fitbit to it and lots of apps like MapMyWalk or MapMyRun. And you can customize your nutritional profile. So you can set it for 90 g of Protein if you want to. You can also have it showing Fiber intake if that is important, or whatever.
Download a couple apps to your phone. Look at them and play with them. And remember that you are going to see an overwhelming list of foods for something as simple as "roasted chicken". Don't fret over that otherwise you will never be successful at logging your foods (this is what I initially did - I freaked out at not seeing the EXACT sub I had at subway or whatever). Pick one that is a close approximation to the kind you had. Make sure it has all the nutrient profile filled out and move on. Know that unless you are scanning barcodes (which is a handy feature in MFP), calorie counting is an approximate thing - everything depends on how you cooked the item, the flavoring and seasonings you may have used. It is not a hard an fast science!

If you are talking about the lips, having uneven skin is normal and the perfectly symmetrical hoo has that are out there on porn stars are surgically enhanced. If you are talking about a puffy mons, you will lose some weight there like everywhere, and it may or may not bounce back like the rest of your skin depending on age, your weight, how long you have been overweight and genetics.
    Own your honeybun, darling. LOL!

Forsythia reacted to Elode in Holy love of measurements!
HI all! Today is exactly 9 Weeks since I had my sleeve surgery. I have read a lot of post on here pre and post surgery about people being so dishearten over the numbers on the scale when they weigh. I told myself back before my surgery that I was NOT going to fall victim to the stinking scale! That hellacious thing has a way of ruining a persons whole day/week. Now I know some people can weigh everyday and whatever number pops up they can live with but I know me, I know my past, and I know how many times that Sucker has knocked the wind out of my sails and made me feel defeated. NOT this time honey! So what I did do with my daughter help (Partly to make sure I couldn't fudge on the numbers later) was measured every part of my body. Today is the first time we got the measuring tape out and revisited those numbers and I have to say I am astonished! These inches I have lost so far, far surpasses the feeling I got from any scale number! People are always asking me for recommendations of what they should do and my advice is to take your measurements because you can almost bet when that scale isn't moving but your following orders your probably still losing inches. I'm a open book so I will share my numbers with you...
    Under bust - 3inches
Smallest part of waist -4 inches
    Natural waist -6 inches
Buttock, booty, lovely lady lumps -10 inches!!!!! Yes -10 inches!! Crazy!!(Don't fret there's plenty more where that came from)
    Upper arm -3inches
    Thighs -6 inches (loving this)
    Calves-1 1/2 inches.
Such a long way to go but I am so incredibly grateful for my sleeve and the help it has given me to finally be succeeding at something I've wanted for so long! Hey does this count as a NSV?? ( ps: I do weigh myself but only bi-weekly if I feel like it:)

I'm sure I'm not the only one with this problem but I have extra skin I guess you would say on my vajayjay. I haven't had the surgery yet. But I was wondering about extra skin down there afterwards. I don't want it to look like a rolled up honeybun. Is there surgery that can be done?

Eli, remember that you cannot control the actions and reactions of others. You can only control your actions and reactions. Since you know your in laws are jerks about food around you, change your routines. If they eat dinner at 6pm, cook your own meal (even if that is a lean cuisine) and eat it at 5:30. When they get on you, leave the house and take a walk. You get to clear your head and you get in your exercise. Don't give them your power. And lastly make sure your husband is your advocate. He needs to really talk to his parents. They may respond to him better than you as the DIL.

Only 60 more to go. Lol. I feel at this point I really have to make sure my diet is on point and the exercise has to be there. When I first started I would literally drop lbs doing nothing. But now it's easier to fall back into old habits because I'm so far out. So cardio and weights at least 3X per week. Constant vigilance.

I usually eat between 1000 and 1200 calories a day. Also I'm 8 months out and down well over 100 lbs. I don't really count carbs. But MFP has my carb count at 120g per day. I don't typically get that close to it. Maybe 80 or so? I really only track Protein and calories and casually eyeball the carbs and fat. Seems to be working. I'm still losing.

I still eat too fast. If I eat too fast and don't chew well enough, I get nauseated and it comes back up. So have I mastered eating slower? No. The best I can do is be cognizant of it and try to eat slower. Having said that, use a baby fork or spoon. Smaller bites will slow you down.

OKAY....please don't laugh or roll your eyes at me, BUT...
I am a big big Britney Spears fan. I'm 26 and have been a fan since I was about 11. So, in 2009 when she was on tour, they had tracksuits for sale at her shows, and my brother (who is my concert partner) bought me one. It was 200 freakin dollars, and i have NEVER worn it because the biggest size they had was X-Large so obviously it wasn't going to fit a 300+ person. I STILL have that tracksuit and I cannot wait until the day I will be able to wear it. The great thing is that we're only 4 days into the new year, so i KNOW that the day that tracksuit will fit me, is going to be THIS year!
