  1. Congrats...awesome achievement.
  2. Hey Donali, Pokies are poker machines. I went through a stage loving them big time...another thing that almost destroyed me.
  3. Hi Thanks for all the advice. I have been researching a TT for years. I wrote back to the receptionsist today and actually then spoke with my Dr and I am having preop testing done this Friday. I fell pregnant at 16, had a baby at 17 and from then on my body was a shambles. I mean it was before but not so saggy. I then put on and lost weight over the next few years till I fell pregnant with twins, well if the tummy couldnt get any worse, it did. Up and down weight again until I had my 21 mth old and my tummy is BAD. When I started my lapband journey my Drs goal for me was 80kg. I would be over the moon to get to that weight and its only 8 or 9kgs away. My PS had 3 appointments with me before deciding whether to go ahead. He said my tummy still has some fat to lose but most of it is loose skin that WONT ever go back in. He felt for me with the issues of rashes etc especially in the heat. He agreed to do it for me and said my results will stay the same if not better if I lose a bit more. He suggests between 20 and 30 pds to keep the results...anymore than that you may have loose skin again. I am so 100% for this surgery, honestly I am sure most of us can understand what having saggy hanging skin can do for us, and having it since I was 17 I really dont know anything else that I can remember. I will give up smoking. I know I will, and I will have this op because I want it so bad, and have spent so long looking into it. I began researching long before I had my band. Thanks again for advice and support.
  4. As for your questions I was done in Warners Bay by Dr Webster on the 4th April last year. Weight loss has been good but slow, which is ok. I would have put all this on and more without my band. I am down about 30kgs and I am booked in for a TT, BL and lipo in 2 weeks this Thursday. I am having it done at Sydney and will spend 10 days in North Sydney, maybe we could meet up fro a coffee or something if I can walk  Talk soon
  5. Tweety I have copied this from our Sydney site. I mostly meet up with the Central Coasters who have a lunch on the 12th. There is also something this weekend in Sydney. Hope to help. Ever wondered where to go to for a 'lunch date' with other bandsters? Well SydBand is definatly the place, so if you feel like a chin wag with someone that knows exactly what you are on about join in! FYI: they are having a lunch this Sunday coming. http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/SydBand/ <http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/SydBand/> This was from a post put up by the lovely Beverlee on Ozband and I think it is a good cross post/ promo: This is just to let everyone know that there are many local and smaller groups including ozband which you are able to join. Most of these groups see ozband as an umbrella group to the local groups. As ozband grew, the need arose for communities which catered for individual needs which aren't addressed by ozband. These local groups are where you will find out about the get togethers which are held regularly - generally on a monthly basis. You are very welcome to join these groups - not all are on line groups, but I have included numbers for those groups where support is available in your local area. If you have a group not included in the following list, let me know! Young People: Under 30's that is! http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/youngandbanded/ Queensland http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/brisbanders/ (Brisbane) Contact - Cath Bowen (07)3890 7940 or 0403 233 023 (Gold Coast have a bi-monthly lunch on opposite months to Brisbane - contact Leanne Jordan: 07 5528 4587) NSW Sydney Metropolitan Area http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/SydBand/ (Sydney) http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/SydneyBandsters/ (Sydney) Mid North Coast (Coffs Harbour and surrounds) meets the 2nd Saturday of each month at the Coffs Harbour Ex-Services Club at 2pm. 6. I just re read my post a few times, all those things made me feel so good doing them at the time. I loved the pokies, sitting there with my smoke and diet coke and friends around me. The phen fen made me feel invisible, confident and energetic...something I definately am not normally, smoking relaxes me and calms me...I like the feeling of a smoke with a cuppa or talking to ppl, chocolate makes me feel like I am on cloud 9 Ughhh I think I am just one messed up dude
  7. After my other post and seeing several other posts lately, do you think that obese are more prone to addictions, or am I being to general? I know alot of us are/were addicted to food, but with that food addiction did you find yourself easily addicted to other things? I know myself if its addictive and comes my way I usually end up addicted. Although I must say I never did drugs and the reason why was that I knew it would only take once for me to want the feeling again so I steered clear and never tried it, same with alcohol...Wonder why I couldnt do that with food Just steer clear of it hehe. I had my fair share of being a little addicted to the pokies, Phen fen, smoking, food (generalised), chocolate and many other things. What was/is your addiction/s.
  8. BTW - 2 more days till .... no more smokes day. My Drs receptionist got back to me today about my TT op and let me know that no preop testing will be necessary because of my age. I was blown away because I know how much testing I had to have done for the band. I mean he doesnt even know my Blood type what if something happens? He is a great Dr and is well renowned, but has his own ideas about things, I guess this is one of them...kinda worries me tho.
  9. Thanks for the post Diane, it was touching and meant alot. I know what you mean about this board, with everything going on in my life right now it is my haven...my little safe spot with lots of people who only know how I am feeling and why. Imagine telling someone youre having a bad day because you want chocolate so bad you could die. Or tell them your band is having a fickle bitch day and wont let you have anything but soup. Uh Huh I am sure that would go down well. I keep 99% of my band convo and related to here, cause only you guys know what I REALLY mean and how I REALLY feel. Hugs
  10. Thanks again for all the kind words and advice. It is early morning here so today I have decided. 3 smokes today - 2 tommorow - 1 the day after - none after that. I know I am only prolonging it, but I am going to give it a shot. Chameleon - I cannot thank you enough for opening up and sharing that story with me. I am sorry for your loss - and I am sorry for what you have been through, and i am sure seeing stories like mine make you angry after what you have been through. Why cant smoking be made illegal, that would help not being able to buy them. I mean come on...its proven, it kills ya, but they still sell it. The only reason they dont take it off the market is the tax they make from them would stuff em up if they werent getting it. Greedy Greedy no good @^#*^@%@!%^%@.
  11. Ditto to me too. Loving chocolate, cant live without it, need it by my side.
  12. Loving the band!!!!!!! Thats all I have to say about that.
  13. My cellulite has reduced a bit in my legs etc, but the stretch marks and saggy skin sure make up for that...I think Id rather the cellulite :scared:
  14. My Dr doesnt believe in the carbonation thing. He told me diet drinks in moderation. I am not saying he is right because there just isnt any proof either way. I mean my Dr has this weird talk he gives me every visit about chicken. He goes on and on about changing to organic foods and do I know what they pump into chickens and I eat it etc. I know its true but whoa I dont need to know. I wouldnt be able to afford to feed my whole family that "special" chicken...and its what I eat the most of to get my protein. So maybe follow your own Drs orders and give or take a little either way on the small things. Its only MY opinion that a few sips of beer every now and then cant hurt. *covers head from the backlash* I couldnt live without my glass of sprite zero every now and then.:heh:
  15. I wrote my post about 1am before I went to bed. I went to bed straight after and laid there for good hour thinking about what I had typed. I got up this morning to this. You guys are so awesome. Thanks for the support, advice and encouragement. Unfortunately the only way I can give up smoking is cold turkey. I am not allowed nicotine at all, he said no gum or patches or anything else containing nicotine. Thats why I was thinking hypnotism might be an avenue to try? My PS told me absolutely give up smoking cold turkey and to lose as much weight as I could leading up to the surgery for optimal results...yea right, thats contdradictry lol.
  16. I am not starting this thread for actual answers, merely to get it off my chest. I am struggling, I mean really struggling. I am so out of control and I blame noone except myself. I wont clean my house out of these foods because I have done that a million times in my life and it hasnt worked. I have to learn to have them in the house and ignore them, or have them in moderation. I mean, before banding I hated ice cream. I love it now, I have it about 4 times a week. Grrrrr...peanut M&Ms, my biggest downfall. I have great restriction, eat small meals and feel full, then BAM 7.30pm comes...the kids are in bed and I am like a raging animal going through the cupboards looking for food...cant just be anything though...fruit, yogurt or healthy things just dont cut it. Now let me talk about exercise, each night I go to bed thinking tommorow I will start walking or anything. I go to sleep so motivated, and the next day I just cant be bothered. I have to give up smoking for my TT next month. I gave up for 3 days last week and in those 3 days I put on about 5 lbs. it scared the crap out of me and I turned into this psycho that bit the kids head off with anything that came out of my mouth. Hubby didnt want to come home from work...he was scared!!! I have read all the threads...keep temptation out, see the bigger picture, wake up to yourself...I know!!! I really know and I knew it before banding and it didnt work, and nearly 11 months later its not working after banding. I wish I had energy...I wish I wasnt tired all the time, I wish I wasnt addicted to chocolate...I wish I had motivation and I wish I had self control...One more thing, I wish I could give up smoking without going to hell and back in the process. *sigh*
  17. I am having a tough time moving the scales the last couple of months...its been up and down with the same 5 lbs. I am doing alot of things wrong and I acknowledge that, so for the time being : I WILL NOT EAT AFTER 7.30PM. That is my downfall so that is where I will start.
  18. Hey Tweey Tarts, I meet up with a couple of groups monthly. They have become some of my closest friends. PM me for details.
  19. I just HAVE to know moreeeeeeeeeee about my future husbands willy. Tell me everything about Adam Sandler Delarla...I sit drooling awaiting your response haha
  20. Can someone post the pic please, there is no chance me buying the mag here in Aus. Thanks
