Question about gum
Well no. The chewing can add air to the pouch. I miss it! But small price to pay.

I break my protein bar up as a snack during the day (Dr is making me snack to get the protein in) and then have a shake for breakfast and real food for lunch and dinner. I seam to be able to get about 60-70 grams in this way on a consistent basis. But some days it just does not happen. You are doing well so far!

2 weeks Post Op Today
Yes, fluids are the most important. Everything else will come in time and then they will want you to eat more! LOL Sounds like you are doing OK. 19 is a good loss so far. You may have a period of a small stall around the third and the fourth week. It is just your body adjusting to the big loss you just had. Don't freak out. :-) And let us know whatever questions you may have. We are here to help!! I would have gone crazy without this board and the wonderful people on it. PS... I am so sorry to hear you got the flu. UGH that must have sucked!

(Late Nov Early Dec Surgeries) - About 6 Weeks Post Op...
Hi All!! I have noticed over the past few days there are a bunch of us struggling with the same things right now so I thought I start a thread. So, after my visit to the dr yesterday I am in complete panic mode. I was told 800-900 calories and at least 70 grams of protein. I know this is best but I am completely terrified. It is like it has given me a license to eat. I was not snacking. They told me to snack to get my food and protein in. But I'm scared. If I pick all day I can but that is what got me here in the first place. Also, I see all of these people 6, 9 months out eating 600 calories and dropping weight like crazy. I'm already behind and stalling again. So, I want to eat to "lose" like the say but afraid. I have been getting better with water but the exercising has faded. I leave for work at 7 AM and don’t get home to almost 6:30. I am so tired by then. (Yes need more protein). By the time I cook dinner and clean up it is 8 and I am ready for bed. (How sad is that). I am down about 28 pounds. How are all of you coping?

Looking back on this... so much is true. The emotions, the stall at three weeks, Hell week, etc. But you get through it.

I live on MFP I can't believe how fast the calories add up. You'll get there. Unfortunately I am there now. Not sure if it is good or bad.

Help please
It's actually moving around. I had mine for over a week but I had two surgeries. Ugh. I slept with a heating pad on my back and a hot water bottle on my chest/stomach. It seemed to help. I have no idea why. Hope you feel better.

Mine said the same thing at my six week appointment. 800-900 calories and at least 70 in protein. I got 70 in today and feel crappy.
