I completely understand. I am tired of asking for seat extenders, certain older cars I can't buckle up, not fitting in small chairs...the urge to be a healthier me and knowing that this will be the tool I need for sucess is what is getting me through. Do you have a surgery date yet?
  10. When is your surgery? Mine is August 15th...and I am having the worst time sleeping. I am super anxious My best friend just had hers yesterday and she told me she didn't see the surgeon at all! And we have the same surgeon. I know myself and I will need to see him before surgery. I mean for the love of god, the man is operating on me. (plus side....my surgeon...NOT hot, lol)

  12. It does really depend on your insurence. I had to get pre-approval, then about a month out they confirmed with what my deductable would be. (only 147 dollars!) With paying the highest insurence possible it made it a lot less expensive then my best friend who just had the surgery today. (1200 dollars) I wish you the best of luck. you should call your insurence and let them know what you are looking to do. Bekki (surgery date Aug 15th!!)
  13. That is awesome! How much walking are you doing? I have my surgery 2 weeks from today.

And I thought mine was bad! Pure liquids for 5 days after surgery (aside from Protein shakes) pureed food until nutritionist visit (3 to 4 weeks)
  15. I was told I didn't have a choice if I wanted to use that surgical team. The nutritionist, surgeons and therapist all work together. It does make it easier that they all talk and work together. This process had been pretty seamless.
  16. My work has 2 insurences. The mental health insurence is United Behavorial Health. My surgeon works with a specific therapist who for the 2 hours cost $550.00. He was not in network. That involved the test and talking with him for an hour. He didn't charge me seperately for the write up...but it has to be said. All I could think the entire time was how this wasn't worth the money. But in the long run it will be.
  17. It is hard, I have been pretty successful with the plan my nutritionist puts all the patients on. Everything you eat should be in the single digits for fat and sugar. I stopped drinking soda and sweet tea. Good luck!
  18. Thank you all so much!
  19. My surgery is August 15. I am super excited but nervous.

Eating well after weight loss surgery....Best book! For all stages after surgery.
  21. With my surgery team we have to see a bariatric therapist. When he asked me of I knew of the complications. I told him that I knew that you can die from the surgery, but I am going to die without it. I was deemed ok to have surgery.
