RJ the ever decreasing story
Oh yes. I was used to consistant heartburn. When I woke up the first thing I noticed was that my esophagus wasnt on fire. Then I realized that I had been stabbed and rearranged and promptly demanded pain meds. Lol

Instantly! I went in to surgery with heart burn and woke up with out it.- And So It Begins. . .
Congratulations! This surgery is by far the best decision I've ever made. I look back at this post, from almost a year ago, and I'm shocked to see how much my life has changed. Since this post, I've gotten out of a horrible relationship, became closer to my parents, Weeded out an enormous amount of toxic people from my life. Gone through thousands of hoops, gone back to school, and now it's 7 weeks, and four days since my surgery. I'm down 54 pounds, all of my GERD symptoms are gone, and I'm slowly gaining my life back. It's a long journey, but it's definitely worth it.- RJ the ever decreasing story
I had GERD issues also before surgery. Now, all my symptoms are gone! It's wonderful.- post op medication
I have three quarters of a bottle left. I am just keeping it. Just in case.- over eating 3 wks out
My nut explain to me that our pouch is like a funnel. You put liquids in to it it goes right through allowing you to consume more. You put soft foods it goes through simi easily allowing yo to consume more than heavy food that just sits there for a bit before slowly draining out.- 5 months post op
Congrats! You look great!- 26 looking for a buddy

The only prescription I was given was for the pain medication. (liquid Hydrocodone) In the hospital they gave me several shots, one was a blood thinner for clots, and an antacid shot, and there were a couple more but my hospital stay is very foggy now.- over eating 3 wks out
Listen to your body, Take a minute between bites. AND Chew Chew Chew.- Constipation
I take a dose of Milk of Mag about once a week to keep my BMs normal. After the first week I was so constipated it literally felt like I was being ripped open. I took the milk o mag and about an hour later it was all good.- 2 1/2 months post op and im not hungry
I have the same feeling, I forget to eat most of the time, I've taken to setting timers every 4 hours, telling myself to nibble on something. I feel full ALL THE TIME! I don't have cravings anymore, so I forget. Last week I had realized that I hadn't eaten anything for almost 48 hours. And It was a little scary, I got dizzy and weak, and very very irritable. I didn't realize that it was from hunger. Set timers, and make yourself eat. We need the calories. Best of luck.- feeling down
I've felt that way my entire life. Where I feel like I'm the biggest one in the room. I've adapted the mind set that it doesn't matter what these people think, It's only what I think about myself that matters. Hold your head high, and tell yourself that you are doing something about it. I shattered my kneecap when I was 15. It hurts every day. But I've taken to doing low impact exercising, swimming mostly, and It gets a little bit better once you get moving. Best of luck.- Feeling really blah today...questions?
Experiment with temperatures. I can't drink anything unless is super, super, cold. If it's hot, warm or lukewarm, I can't do it. It makes me feel ugghgh. (yes, The only way I can describe the feeling is with ugh) With real foods I can tolerate more of a variety of temperatures, but I can't do leftovers. It's been a lot of trial and error with my foods, I've thrown up more in the past three-four weeks than I have in the past 10 years. It's not pleasant. I'm about 7 weeks out, and much better than I was the first couple weeks.- Heartburn
Avoid acidic stuff. And dont over eat.- RJ the ever decreasing story
