  4. This is going to be the longest six months of my life! I was required by my doc to have 6 months of therapy before surgery. And I am being whiny and impatient! I can't wait to change my life, I can't wait for February! Just a micro rant. :-)
  5. Most plastics will give you payment options. I have looked in to it. Usually it is 25% down then the rest in payments.
  6. Foodporn.com it's an amazingly real site.
  7. If he is verbally abusing you and your kids you need to get Them out. You can get help at a womens shelter and they have advisers there that can help you get on your feet. I know your money Situation isn't ideal but every day your kids are near the hostile environment there is damage being done.
  8. I'm starting the required 6 months of counseling on Wednesday. which is putting my completion somewhere in February. So We're thinking that the surgery itself will be right around spring break. I'm going to back to school in the fall. I've taken a year long sabbatical and I'm thrilled to be going back. I had dropped out after my first year, due to stress and social stupidity. I broke up with my boyfriend of over two years last week. It hasn't been as hard as I thought it would have been, I'm honestly surprised that I haven't been as upset as I had been. He had never really been there for me in the way that I needed him. He wasn't meeting any of my needs, and he was selfish and immature. He wasn't 100% on board with the surgery, I'm starting to think that he didn't really care. I was there through every single thing, I was always there to build up his ego, just for him to stop all over mine. I look back on the last two years, and I get so mad at myself for putting up with all of it. I forgave him way too many times. He stole the rent money once, he cheated on me, he was rude and uncaring, he never stood up for me, Hell, I spent 6 months sleeping on the floor because we only had a twin size bed that my fat ass and his wouldn't fit on, He drove away the few friends that I had and I kept forgiving him. And It pisses me off that I didn't leave him, that I just sat there an let him do whatever he wanted without any repercussions. I think it is the surgery that finally let me leave. I really do. I've always been insecure, and I guess I was trapped in the thought that no one else would ever love me because I was fat and ugly. But now with this life changing surgery looming at he horizon, I just feel hopeful that with this surgery, and therapy that I will finally be able to love myself, enough to not worry about being locked in to another unhealthy relationship because I'm too afraid, to be alone. I'm so ready to get the ball rolling on my new life. 6 months, only six more months.
  9. The scary stuff is part of being informed about what you are about to do. The truth is, sometimes things can go wrong with the surgery, and It's good to know both the pros and cons of this procedure.
  10. I has one session, it included a true false test, then an hour talk. I didn't pass and have to take 6 months of councling.
  11. My boyfriend, or well ex boyfriend did the same thing, we broke up on Friday after a long fight about him being immature and irresponsible and not being there for me and not being supportive. Men suck!
  12. I had a 165 true false test, it took about 30 minutes.
  13. I love my tongue piercing, I got it on my 18th birthday. Every time I take it out It just feels wrong.
  14. They have me on 8 weeks of 10,000 units a day, then down to 5,000 for the rest of my life. Vitamin D is extracted from the blood by fat cells, altering its release into the circulation. People with a BMI of 30 or greater often have low blood levels of vitamin D.
  15. So, it turns out I can't get a second opinion, But, It's alright, It's only six months. I'm going to start going to another Psych, one who specializes in obesity related depression and anxiety. I didn't know that existed until today, lol. I'm still disappointed, but at the same time I'm a little relieved, it seemed that things were moving too fast anyway, and now I can also get the help that I need, and in January right after my 21st birthday, I'll get to start the new life that I will deserve, and I'll be in the right mind to be able to succeed with the tool that I will be given. On a side note, I got my blood tests back, I have low Vitamin D, and The bacteria H. Pylori. So I have to take a crazy expensive Antibiotic for 14 day, and be on horse pills of Vitamin D for the rest of my life.
  16. My surgeon said that they had to specialize in weight loss
  17. I am definitely getting a second opinion, I have been in counseling since my sophomore year of high school, it was my regular councilor who recommended the surgery in the first place.
  18. My psych practically looked at a the answers for the true false questions, and compared them to 700 other people's answers and said that I was crazy, based on true false questions. Because that's how you get diagnosed with anything now, those pesky true false questions. Because saying yes to "my weight make me unhappy" Is wrong. I think it is a skewed system. Maybe it will be different for you, best of luck.
  19. So today was my psych evaluation, I went in, waited for 45 minutes before she even called me in. Then, She had me take a 165 question true false test, which took about 30 minutes. And I waited again, this time for another 40 minutes, Then we went and had our little interview, She asked me about any sort of past trauma I may have had, any sort of huge change, any sort of issues whatever. Then she asked about what I expect after the surgery, where I expect to be after a year. Then she pulled out the stupid test results and told me that the test says that I'm suffering from severe anxiety and depression and that she can not ethically allow me to proceed with the surgery at this time. So she says that I have to go through six months of therapy, and she will re-evaluate me again. So, I have to wait six months anyway. Needless to say I'm very disappointing, but now I get to drink for my 21st birthday, yippee. (sarcasm)
  20. Lower back tattoo
  21. Go get a pregnancy test to know for sure, then either it will be negitive and everything is fine, or you will be pregnant and you should go to the doctor. But you won't know until you get a test. There is no use in freaking out.
  22. Same here, the reason some insurances require the 6 mo plan is to weed out the people who are trying to do this because they think it is the easy way out, and have never tried to lose before. IF there is a paper trail of your attempts then 9/10 they will not require the 6 mo.
