  1. Thanks for the story...gives me hope that normal life will return soon enough. Especially as I sit hear listening to my family prepare dinner as I get my cup of jello.
  2. Sharon...hang in there. I had my surgery on 8/9 and came home Sat. Sunday was a very rough day and I feel 100% better today. The hunger part isn't easy right now but I keep reading other success stories that keep me motivated.
  3. I'm glad someone said something about protein. I'm on clear liquids with no protein and have been concerned about that. I get very tired very quickly and thought I should be taking in something with protein. Need to ask my dr about that one.
  4. Thanks for the feedback. Yes I felt much better after I came home and slept for about an hour. Gonna try a smaller walk now and we'll see what happens.
  5. Hey Punk...I'm on the same schedule as you. Had surgery on Thur and came home yesterday. I have the gas pains as well but finally started having BMs today after one of my walks. I think I overdid it though when I tried going to the grocery store. While we def have to move we also need to make sure to get the rest in between. I came home and laid down right away after I was in so much pain and feel 75% better. Gonna try another short walk now and we'll see. Wish you all the best and feel free to hit me up to compare notes.
  6. It's a constant feeling right now. Keep feeling like I need to belch but if I force it I only dry heave. I know I need to walk but my hubby seems to think I should be running a marathon already. Which also makes me feel worse.
  7. Discharged yesterday from hospital and was feeling decent. Went to grocery store today with my hubby and now feel horrible. Back and chest pain with a coughing fit thrown in. Want to just lay down and sleep now. Is this normal?
  8. Thanks Sunflwr! My hubby has been very supportive but I know he was losing patience with me as I cried the last few days. It's been tough.
  9. So I was scheduled to have my bypass yesterday but on Tuesday received an abnormal pap smear result from a Gyne appointment. The PA in my surgeons office took me off the calendar saying they couldn't risk anything being wrong. My gyne said it wasn't a big deal and faxed a clearance to the surgeon. However the PA said it was too late and they had to reschedule me. I now have to wait until August 9 because the surgeon is on vacation and I'm extremely frustrated. I was almost 4 days into my liquid diet and was finally mentally prepared. Now I have to do it all over again in a month. UGH!!!!
  10. Good thoughts and prayers are coming your way! Can't wait to hear about your awesome results.
  11. Congrats! Mine is Thursday and I'm crawling out of my skin because I just want it to get here already!
  12. My surgery is 7/12 and I'm on a five day clear liquid diet. Kind of jealous that some of you can do a protein shake of some type. Do you think it would hurt to add one a day just to kill my hunger pains?
  13. Glad you're doing well. Keep us pre-ops updated!,
  14. Good luck Joanna! I'm waiting confirmation on my surgery date. Just keep thinking about all the great benefits after the surgery is complete.
  15. Hello there...I've just received my phone call today that I've been approved by my insurance for the surgery. While I've been on this journey for months, I'm now getting a little anxious. I figured the best way to help myself through was to take a look at some success stories and came across this group. I'd be very appreciative of any feedback, comments, or anything else.
