  1. You should be able to get it at any health food store! You can eat it with anything..it is so good!
  2. Have any of you tried Quinoa? It looks like bird seed..but it's a grain and very high in protein. One of my friends told me about it and it's very yummy! You cook it like you would rice. It's bland tasting but once you add a little flavor to it it's delic! I have it for breakfast every morning with a tiny but of butter and maple syrup!
  3. Salads are all I crave! I have no issues eating it- but I also add cheese, chicken, eggs, etc. so I make sure I get in my protein.
  4. I'm 8 weeks postop and going through the exact same thing! Force yourself to eat ! Even if a bit still force it- I do it every single day! As for the drinking again I'm the same way. I'm in fact in contact with my dr every day to give them an update of how many oz I've drank. I've been facing dehydration - because I'm not drinking nearly enough & the drs are concerned! I totally feel your pain! {hugs}
  5. Do you have to take anything for it Vamp?
  6. I had my surgery March 30th & went back to work April 25th. At least with my job I wish I had listened to my doctor and took the full 6-8 weeks off! I'm not quite as tired as what I was but I still come home dragging everyday! Mostly due to mental & physical stress of my job but it also plays a huge role in the healing of your body!
  7. I have a thyroid issue as well- if it is that they will just put you on meds and you'll start seeing a difference! Don't lose sight Of your goal and give up! You are still doing great and have done great! You are an inspirationto us all good luck and let us know what the dr tells you!
  8. I agree with Vamp! I had the same thing after my surgery! I would say give it a week and if it is still black I'd call..
  9. It's funny because I've actually tried eating and drinking at the same time just to see if I could & it hurts me to do it..thankfully I won't have to worry about breaking that habit my body did it for me!
  10. I'm 8weeks post op and I have to say the #1 hardest thing for me about this whole surgery & new life if getting enough liquids! I actually think I've been having dizzy spells because I'm dehydrated! I'm afraid to call the dr because I do not want to be admitted into the hospital! I'm just at a point where I'm getting really depressed over it as I know this will be a constant battle!!
  11. Kmiller- I take 2 multivitamins, a B12 and calcium caltrate ( which are HUGE) daily.
  12. Vamp- what do you consider "slider" foods? I hear everyone talk about them but no clue what they are!
  13. I'm just 8 weeks out as of today- I've never crushed mine - the first 4 weeks I used chewable vitamins but ran out so since I've been taking these HUGE multivitamin pills!!
  14. I need to get myself one of those cards!
  15. So this morning I had another severe dizzy spell where I almost passed out. I got the cold sweats and could barely walk. It was very scary. I experienced these before the week after my surgery but the dr said it was due to the BP meds they put me on after surgery...my BP was very low then. Once they took me off those I havent had an issue since this morning. Any one else go through these? I'm hoping (for my sake) someone says yes! I'm praying it's not related to dehydration which I'm sure I could be that!
  16. It's frustrating because I just don't know what to cook anymore :/ I end up throwing it away if I don't like it. The thought of even having it in my house makes my stomach queasy. It such a waste of money!
  17. I just past my 7th week post op on Friday- so therefore, I'm able to start introducing new foods and have no restrictions. I'm having difficulty finding foods I like anymore. Everything tastes different to me now. If I liked it before surgery, chances are I'm not going to like it now. Anyone else having this issue?
  18. I'm not sure really- I ordered a salad and kids meal & asked them to bring a box out with my meal. They did without arguing so I wasn't going to explain! Lol. I would have if needed!
  19. In sorry your going through this! Im 7 weeks postoperative and only had 1 experience with the dumping:( I would call your doctor again if it doesn't get any better soon!
  20. Welcome Tina!!
  21. Welcome Jessica! I'm so sorry For your loss of your brother. You have come to the right place for support! The men & women on this board are wonderful and very inspirational & encouraging! Forgive yourself of your past and move forward towards your future! I'm here if you ever want to chat!!
  22. I went out on Saturday night & I ordered off the kids menu! The portion sizes are still quite big for us but at least I wasn't paying $20 for a meal I took 2 bites of!!
  23. My surgery was on a Friday and got out on Sunday.
  24. I would wait until after the tape/glue dissolves from your incisions. I think mine took up to 4 weeks.
