Post Gastric Bypass Surgery Day 4 Issues?

I am trying to get fluids in, worried its not enough. I keep sipping like the doctor said and she also said I am still swollen. Started vitamins today.

I am also getting hot flashes when I walk around. I do a lap around the house and I am beat.

I am hoping this gets better

I'm 8weeks post op and I have to say the #1 hardest thing for me about this whole surgery & new life if getting enough liquids! I actually think I've been having dizzy spells because I'm dehydrated! I'm afraid to call the dr because I do not want to be admitted into the hospital! I'm just at a point where I'm getting really depressed over it as I know this will be a constant battle!!

I have a hard time getting fluids too! Today I'm sick so alls I can do is drink!

Try this idea. Find some cheap Water bottles (I recommend the 1 liter smart water bottles) fill them up and tell yourself you have to drink both bottles every day (this is about 66 oz) then its like your Vitamins, you know you need to take them. When you use the bottles you then don't have to guess how much and you are more apt to drink them.....I hope this helps :)

That's an excellent idea. I have these 20 ounce water bottles and I know I have to drink 3 of those a day. Those w/ my Protein shake let's me know that I get my liquids in

I drink smart water too. Before surgery I could drink two a day easily. Now I struggle with one.

I keep a water bottle beside me at work a sip, as I now can't gussie water when I work out I'm thirsty. I do the same thing a know I hv to drink at least two of these bottles a day. If any easier flavours the water with a sugar free flavoring.

My doc told me to drink an ounce, wait 15 seconds & do it again. Only 4 days? Girl......take it easy. You won't be able to get everything in right away. Rest rest rest. Give yourself time.

I'm 4 days out too. I can drink 50/50 juice water no problem, it's the rest I have no hunger to eat. Worried because I'm never hungry dr said its normal. I start protein today so I'll tr a shake. I never had anything in the hospital till Friday night. Had to stay extra because I couldn't pass gas and the pain was so bad. I got to come home last night. Still a lot of rumbles in my tummy.

My gassy rumbles took a week to pass, but they do pass.

What is gripe water? Please excuse my ignorance

Gripe water is all natural and used for babies with colic sold over the counter at drug stores and whole foods
