Neen reacted to Jen in SoCal in Dumb Dumb MoveI am about 4 months out and I know immediatiately when I have eaten too fast or not chewed enough. It literally feels like my food is stuck in my throat and the only way to resolve the psin is to have it come back up. It is the most miserable thing ever! I feel your pain brother!
I've found the easiest thing is to not wait more than 3 hours between eating, then I'm not so hungry!

Neen reacted to Erin in First Social Outing Think I Did OkFor mothers day we went to a nearby steakhouse. I'm only 5 1/2 weeks post-op so I opted for a small salmon fillet grilled with only salt and pepper al a cart. It was good.....the whole three bites! Lol Well at least I have lunch and dinner for tomorrow. It was hard to watch everyone enjoying the salads and warm bread and prime rib......but I think I did well. Its amazing how fear of dumping or causing harm to yourself makes you stay on track. Lol

Neen reacted to Panda in Feeling Like A Failure!I noticed in one of your other posts u said u eat three meals and a snack....I checked my "bariatric bible" and throughout it it says we should be eating 4 small meals. Maybe you aren't eating enough. Most of our protein comes from meat. I was told to eat that first then the veggies. Then there is beneprotein by carnation that can be mixed into your food to up the protein content. Hope some if my ramblings help. It saddens my heart to hear you're feeling like a failure when you have had an encouraging word for everyone on here. You are our role model. Please call your surgeons office so they can get you off of this plateau...we need you! Best wishes

Thanks. It's nice to know that I am not the only one with these feelings. I do think I used food to cope at times. It understood me when so many didn't. The wrong way to handle lifes dramas but what can I say. I am trying to deal with all of the new changes but I am very overwhelmed at the moment.

Neen got a reaction from eglean2 in One Month To Go- Nervous But Can't WaitDon't do the last suppers!!! My friend did and put on 18 pounds in two weeks. Her op was a few years before mine. And now if there is a weight gain between the first consult and surgery, they stop the surgery. This is the surgeries rules, as the want everyone to get on board mentally before the op.
I agree best option is eat health and similar to want is expected afterwards, although your portion pre-op are going to be alot larger. I'm 5days post op my meals are 4teaspoons of soft mushy food.
