  1. Omg! I'm so sorry! I can totally relate to how you feel. When I went to my preop cleance with my primary care dr and had the chest X-ray done- they found that the left side of my diaphragm was elevated and my dr refused to give me the clearance. I cried like a baby for days thinking i couldnt have the surgery! Thankfully I was able to get into to see a pulminologist prior to my surgery and had all sorts of tests and the pulminologist cleared me for surgery. Once you are mentally ready your ready for it to be done and over with and moving on with your life. I'm sorry you had to go through this- just remember everything happens for a reason!! {HUGS}
  2. I personally didn't find the liquid diet difficult. I had jello, crystal light drinks, broths..if I went out to dinner I'd order French onion soup minus the bread & cheese & picked out the onions and had only the broth- very tasty.
  3. Been there done that and it completely sucks! Hope you feel better soon!
  4. Thanks for asking this question. Im 35 yrs old, and do not have kids yet but definitely want them. I asked this question and my dr told me he'd address it if it happened but do whatever I could to avoid getting pregnant!! Obviously wasn't very helpful info- lol.
  5. I can't stand the taste of cottage cheese by itself. I have always mixed it with sugar free orange jello and put mandarin oranges in it....LOVE IT!
  6. Absolutely..it's happened to me several times!!
  7. I felt the same exact way as you do now! The thought of food made me sick to my stomach! I forced myself to eat but right afterward I would get extremely nausious and wanted to throw up! To be truthful it took me almost 13 weeks postop to get over this! I'm only 15 weeks postop so it hasn't been that long ago & remember it as of it were yesterday! Force yourself to eat (even if it's a byte) and definitely push the fluids! I promise it will pass but unfortunately it will take a while!! Good Luck!!
  8. Welcome - you'll find a lot of support on here!! Good luck on your journey!
  9. I know by my third week I was able to have soft mushy foods (ie yogurt, mashed potatoes, etc). We all have the plateau's but keep following your drs instructions. Make sure your drinking your fluids and eating 3 meals a day and walk. Good luck- keep your head up your doing great!
  10. Hope you a feeling well! Let us know how your doing!
  11. Congratulations!! That's awesome!
  12. Good luck today! I'm sure everything went perfect! Let us know how you made out!
  13. I've had 3 knee surgeries, since my surgery I've lost 54 lbs, my knee pain and swelling have gone down tremendously.
  14. Vamp- first of all I want to congratulate you on having the courage enough to walk away. If he's pulling a gun on you and obviously being abusive- it is definitely a situation both you and your kids do not need to be involved in. Secondly, if you ever need to talk please feel free to contact me..I've not been in the situation myself before but have had several close friends that I've helped go through almost the exact situation! Good luck & stay strong your doing the right thing!!
  15. Salad is all I want. I usually put eggs, ham, chicken, turkey and cheese in it- to make sure I get some protein in it!
  16. I would call the dr..I know when I've gone for check ups they always ask if I have any of the problems your describing..
  17. Congratulations! Something you should be very proud of yourself for!
  18. Congrats!! That's awesome!
  19. I'm sure it will be ok- just let it melt in your mouth.
  20. I've been at a stall for about 2 weeks now and I'm only 3 months out. I just had my 3 month check up yesterday & talked to the dr and was just told it happens..that's it. Not real enthused with their answer :/
  21. That's a good thing! Just make sure to eat at least a bite or two of food at every meal!
  22. Vamp- did you find where you won? Yeah so excited for you!!
