  1. One of my favorite quotes... I think it's perfect for you Summer “I believe that everything happens for a reason. People change so that you can learn to let go, things go wrong so that you appreciate them when they're right, you believe lies so you eventually learn to trust no one but yourself, and sometimes good things fall apart so better things can fall together.” ― Marilyn Monroe
  2. Summer- I would never judge you or Kevin for the decisions you guys make. I wish nothing but the best. I just know from my experience how stressful divorce can be and want to make sure you know that your ex may use anything he can against you. They tend to grasp at straws so to speak to make you look bad.
  3. This sounds pretty normal to me. Don't worry guys this too will pass as your diets progress and you add more solid foods. The first couple of weeks were the toughest for me all around. Hang in there
  4. That is quite normal believe it or not between swelling and Water retention the scale may show a gain. Please don't be discouraged! My best advice is to step away from the scale for a week or two. We trend to agonize over the numbers on the scale but they are just that, numbers! Try to focus on the positive changes you have been making in your life and know you can and will accomplish your goals! The healthier you is just around the corner... Hang on and enjoy the journey!
  5. Awww I'm sorry to hear your going through this... But keep your head up girl; if he can't be there to support you now he certainly does not deserve you. I agree with some of the other posts: new you, new love, new lease on life! Go out there and live the best life you can-- you don't have time for those who cannot stand by your side!
  6. Welcome Staci! Ugh sorry hear about your recent diagnoses. I had IBS when I was younger and now how difficult these "tummy problems" can be. Good luck to you with the pre-op approval process, I hope it goes as quickly and smoothly as it can for you!
  7. Chaotica- very well said; I just wanted to let you know I've read quite a few of your posts and feel like you are spot on in a lot of what you say. You are such a blessing to our board.. A true voice of reason. Mami- I also wanted to say, thank you for being real. As a fellow New Yorker, I know we are straight shooters and many times even though we are abrasive we speak from the heart. I'm sure you had nothing but good intentions looking out for Summer. Summer & Kevin- I wish nothing but the best for you guys. I know and understand what you are going through Summer and I'm sure you feel as if the world is turned upside down. Please understand I do think mostly everyone on here has your best interest at heart. I just want to caution you as well... Remember that if you are ultimately headed for divorce he can use anything you post on FB or even on here against you which could effect your divorce proceedings. I know you are proud/excited about your relationship but I simply want to caution you about how much you guys put out there until things settle. Again, I wish both of you true happiness just want to make sure with emotions running so high everything is considered. I know from my experience my ex tried everything to try to take me down so to speak in court. Just be prepared. I wanted to add I really do enjoy getting to know the wonderful people on this board. We have so many great folks with diverse backgrounds and beliefs all with the common interest of getting fit and healthy. You all bring something to this board and for that we are all very blessed. And as a side note; we most definitely have a great group of men on here! Screw just the superficial looks bit--(but they are hot as well) but their input and intelligence and insight adds SO much to this board.
  8. Keepin my fingers crossed for you! Hope it all works out!!!
  9. I have to say, I never thought I'd have a healthy relationship with food. Pre surgery my whole life revolved around food; when I was happy, I ate; when I was sad, I ate; when we were celebrating we'd go out and Celebrate with a big dinner. I ate out of Bordem, out of frustration and never really was satisfied. I planned my day out around what food id be eating next. Today I am three months post op and nearly 60 lbs down! I finally feel that I have the control over food that I have been longing for my whole life. I no longer look to eat at all times, heck the majority of the time I'm not even hungry. It's so amazing considering I had lap band which failed. Even though I lost weight w/ the band I never had this level of control over my eating. I'm loving my new outlook on life. I would have never been able to get to this point w/o this amazing tool, RNY, to help me get to my goal!
  10. Good luck tomorrow. Please let us know how your doing when you can!
  11. Lol enjoy the break from the scale and have a great time in Disney!
  12. Agreed try to walk as much as possible, it helps to relieve some of that pressure. You'll be feeling better soon. Congrats on the surgery! Best wishes for a speedy recovery!!
  13. Sorry to hear about the infection... Yuck! Hope it clears up and the antibiotics do the trick. Congrats on your weight loss so far, great job!

  19. The weekend I started my pre-op liquid diet I had 3 birthday parties to attend. Boy was it tough to resist especially since one of those birthdays was my boyfriends! I just had to stay focused as to the purpose of the pre op diet (staying safe through surgery, shrinking my liver). It's tough but you will get through it too I'm sure! Best of luck
