Did Anyone Cheat On Preop Diet?
When I had my lap band placed, I did 2 weeks of mostly liquids the program had set for me. Tempted as I was, I did not cheat. Not even once. But my diet included veggies, jello, sf puddings so that I could at least chew something. I had mor issues with wanting to eat after surgery than on the diet. I'm not looking forward to just liquids again but I can do it. So can you! Just think of what you're gaining

Exercise
I noticed when I was heavier, my feet were worse. I do a foot treatment about once a week by globbing on Vaseline, eucerine (?sp), or anti fungle cream before bed. Wear sock! The anti fungle was suggested by a podiatrist. I have also heard pedicures but I'm funny about that! Don't like my feet messed with!

Depress & Sad
I'm glad you looking at a different shake. Slimfast just doesn't have enough protein to tide you over. You body prolly thinks it's starving. Plus, remember the 2nd week is always harder

Vitamins And Supplements
Here's my list Fish oil lemon flavor (yum) trying to fix my low good cholesterol Citracal petites 2 Breakfast 2 lunch Vitamin D 1000 IU (I work with breastfeeding moms and here in Illinois almost all women are deficient) Gummy multivites 2 Gummy B complex (new). I had trouble with the yellow pills. Couldn't stomach the taste And Bariatric chewable Iron 60 mg (I was deficient and am now weaning down. Also the gummies don't have iron which I somehow missed) And my allergy meds Please remember I am banded awaiting revision. I expect these will change slightly since I tolerate most pills for now.

Why, Oh Why Did I Step On That Scale?
I think you jumped on too soon. Next time will be better. Remember, your body is healing and will try to hang on to everything for as long as possible before letting go. Hang in there!

Hair Loss!
It seems everyone I've watched go through gbp has a period where the body seems to adjust. They thin, then grow back. And they are religious about vitamins. Maybe it's more the body adapting that makes it fall out. But I do agree...bald and skinny isnt in!

Coffee Anyone?
I gave it up. Just didn't feel like finding a suitable creamer that I like. But it's always been something I could take or leave it. Never really liked cappachino (?sp) either so I will leave the coffee proteins alone too

I happened across it last night online. Not from the app. You are the leader thus far! It's on the right hand side of the forum page.

Juicy Caribbean Jerked Chicken
In response to the weekly challange, here is a new recipe we tried this weeked. 1/2 cup sliced scallions 1 TB grated ginger 2 TB cilantro 2 TSP hot pepper sauce juice of 1 lime 1 1/2 TSP jerk seasoning 1/2 cinnamon 1 TB extra-virgin olive oil 3 jalapeno peppers seeded and chopped 1 TSP black peper 1/2 TSP Kosher salt 1/2 TSP red pepper flakes 2 cloves garlic 2 TB brown sugar substitute 1 TB apple cider vinegar 1 TB orange juice 2 TSP worcestershire sauce 4 4-ounce chicken breast 4 4-ounce chicken thighs (no bones, no skin) Combine all the ingrediants (except the chicken) in a food processor and blend until almost smooth. Coat the chicken and place into slow cooker to marinate overnight for 12 hours. Cook on low for 5 or 6 hours. For more heat, leave in the seeds but i thought it was "warm" without them. Calories 146.52; Protein 19.67; Carbs 1.78; Total fats 6.14; Sat fats 1.37; Cholesterol 62.46; Sodium 322.21; Sugars 0.52; Fiber 0.3 Be sure not to overcook (I did) The chicken was a little dry but still very tasty! I used some fresh herbs and some dried. My family and I have been trying about 1 new recipe a week and so far I haven't made 1 they didn't like! BTW, this is a regular texture food.
