If you believe it won't help you it won't. You have to have positive thoughts and faith that you can work it. It's a tool and the weight loss depends on your efforts, not on the sleeve.

Red79 reacted to TaraInDC in 11 Months Out - Pics!
Hey All -
I am excited to be 11 months out of surgery and down 107 pounds and feeling fantastic. I just wanted to post a positive post-op post because I know when I was researching having this procedure, I always wanted to read about good things so thought I'd share the same.
Basically, I've lost 107 pounds, went from a size 22 to a 10, a XXL to a M and my entire life has changed. I eat so clean now, spend most of my weekends hiking or being outdoors (something I was never into before). This has been life changing for me and for my husband, who has also gotten extremely healthy in the process.
My confidence has skyrocketed, my professional life is better, my only regret is that I didn't do this 5 years ago. Hope all my fellow post-op sleepers are doing well and hope this helps inspire anyone who is interested in the procedure.

Red79 reacted to mrdr in 11 Months down 131 pounds
Another update with pics. Tomorrow will be 11 months officially and im down 131 pounds. I honestly didnt want to lose this much or think that i would lose this much. I feel that im skinny a little to skinny but i would rather be skinny and healthy then fat and miserable. I wont complain but im in a better place. If your in a rut....remember you will get there. Ive been at the same place that your at now. Man about losing weight so slow, aggravated with the diet, smells from food make you think about eating like you used to.... and the thoughts about the maintaining.....but hey its worth it right? You will get there just as i did even when i didnt think that i could and it was really hard.
Have a great week.

I had my surgery 15 months ago and I have lost 133 lbs, we are building our dream home, a log cabin and I was climbing the ladder (something that I couldn't do before at 334 lbs) to look in the loft and my husband took this photo, sometimes I still can't believe it's me, the first pic is on surgery day.

Red79 got a reaction from Indigo1991 in Im freaking out
You are not alone.. I'm one week post op as of yesterday. I feel the same way.. Did I do the right thing? Could I have done it on my own? Then I snapped out of it and said not at all.. So wanting to eat yes that's me but I know that will soon pass.. Don't be to hard on yourself it took us months and years to gain the weight and it will take time to loose it.. Follow the program and stay motivated.. You will be fine!

Red79 reacted to lawree in 1 week after vsg and i'm feeling fine
So I was sleeved on 9/16 and the surgery went smooth. I had minimal pain after and once the pain pump was removed I didn't use any other pain meds. I walked like fiend in the hospital and had some gas and shoulder pain on the second day. Once my drain was removed all shoulder pain immediately disappeared.
Upon coming home I had trouble finding a comfortable sleeping position but as my incision sights heal this is a non issue now. Physically I get tired quicker than before as I am still healing and I am adjusting to that, not being able to walk long distances with my dog sucks as does relying on the husband to do the laundry due to the 10lb weight restriction.
food, that is the strangest thing. Tracking my food in myfitnesspal is weird because my calories are so low. I am tolerating everything and have had no issues with nausea or Constipation. Actually I have had only very loose loose/watery stool. Oh and pain when I sneeze. I lost 11 pounds this week!!!!!!

Red79 reacted to KayCTheNewMe in 5 months post op. -60 lbs. My first pics :)
Had to go through everything to find pictures of me before post op since I hated taking body pictures, but this is the closest I found. This is Halloween before surgery (6 months pre op) and today, 1 day shy of my 5 month surgiversery. Wore a shirt I couldn't fit in for years so I am a happy camper

Red79 reacted to unbesleevable1 in Why are we sooooooo hard on ourselves?
I have been on this forum for a little over a month now. I am pre- op and I have really been enjoying hearing everyones' stories and experiences.
Here is what is getting old: Everyone is SOOOOOOO hard on themselves post-op! Hearing people say they are one day post op and are already in a stall, 3 months out and they've ONLY lost 50 lbs, ate a carb or gained 1 lb or .....
I think this speaks a lot about our expectations going into this process. I read these things and I want to shake these people! We did not gain 100+ extra lbs overnight. Be kind to yourself. Practice patience and gratitude on a daily basis. Stop comparing yourself to others. Get off the stupid scale. Stop obsessing and start accepting yourself and your journey. Ask yourself, 'what would I tell my best friend if she/he came to me with these problems?'
Ok Rant over, Thanks for Listening!
