  1. Low fat plain kefir, fat free ricotta, combo pack of three Spanish cheeses, Ezekial Bread, bottled water, Greek yogurt, olive oil, spices, nuts, frozen fish. My favorite store!
  2. I love your little foodie entries, Gamergirl, it always brightens my day.
  3. 8/12 and I'm down 26 lbs. from surgery date, 31 lbs. from start. You are going a lot faster than I am, but I'll take whatever I can get. I'm over 50, had a starting BMI right at 36, and have a slow metabolism. But I've gone from 18/20 and XXL to 14/16 and size M in nine weeks, so I'm happy. Been stalled 2 weeks, too.
  4. That is so impressive. Thanks for posting pix and congratulations.
  5. I'm 9 weeks out. I can drink water fairly normally. Not really a gulp, but not sipping, either. About 2-3 oz. of food fills me up, particularly if it is protein like chicken or meat. I can handle about 4 oz. of softer proteins like beans or tofu but then I'm stuffed. I still eat mostly protein, a tiny bit of cooked veg (I rarely have enough room for it after my protein), a protein shake every day, and the occasional glass of milk before bedtime if I need a protein boost at the end of the day. I also snack on 15-20 grams of nuts nearly every day.

make some sugar-free lemonade. instant is fine, but try some made with real lemon or lime juice for a real treat.
  7. I can't add much to this thread other than Yes, it's easy to eat out if you pay attention. I love restaurants with large appetizer menus or tapas/small plate menus. Olive Garden has a small plate menu that is great, chicken skewers are yummy. I also order from the "Side Dishes" part of menus and find that is just enough food for a meal. Also Chinese can be good if you ask them to steam your food and serve the sauce on the side - just stay away from the fried dishes and rice/noodles. Vietnamese Pho is good if you can limit yourself on the noodles. Ask for extra veg and less or no noodles and it's very tasty and low cal (high sodium, though). I find fast food the most difficult just because I'm sick of fast food grilled chicken, but it does work in a pinch. Chick-fil-A has a lot of options from chicken breast soup to chicken salad or grilled nuggets, not to mention very good salads and great sugar-free lemonade. Don't forget Wendy's chile, too.
  8. That is amazing. Congratulations on a truly inspiring feat.
  9. sounds good, think I'll try it!
  10. Been in a stall for the last 2 weeks (seems longer than that!), but I'm losing inches. Fit into a size Medium top today and I think the size 14 bottoms are right around the corner. Started off 8/12/2013 in a size 18/20. XXL. Just thought I would share for those in stall - yes, you are losing inches even if the darn scale won't move
  11. Dr put me on Reglin and I've been on it all week. Has helped a lot. The lump in my throat is gone. Taking both omeprozole and ranitidine. Best wishes for you, Rev.
  12. I weigh weekly, but after reading this, I think I may switch to monthly.
  13. I just buy enough for everyone. My son has lost 10 lbs drinking protein shakes for breakfast. I guess eating other people's food is just so much better.
  14. Almost 9 weeks, 5' 4 1/2", my nut has me shoot for 80 g protein, 60 g cabs ( no more than 20 at one time), 30 g fat. This comes to around 800 calories.
  15. Go for it. I think it could be a very satisfying thing to have under your belt. A significant NSV.
  16. Here in New Mexico my favorite jerky place makes Carne Adovada beef jerky that is sprinkled with red chile, Mexican oregano, and seasoning. Out of this world!
  17. I upped my anti acids to omeprozole and ranitidine, plus the occasional tums on the go. I'm sleeping with 4 pillow, too. The lump is better. The dr put me on reglin, too. I think the lumo might be scarred tissue in your esophagus and needs to heal before going away.
  18. It's burning fat for fuel. I use Listerine strips, they work well for ketosis breath.
  19. OK, I think you are fine. I've found it's easy to overeat in your mouth. The restriction happens when it hits your tummy. If you eat very quickly you can get in more than you should, then, you really regret it later. Try slowing way down, take a tiny bite, put down the fork, wait a minute or two, repeat. Stop as soon as it starts to feel full.
  20. Sounds like water weight. Pizza cheese has a lot of sodium, always used to make me hold water.
  21. Sausages work fine for me. I don't eat them a lot because they are high fat, but no digestion problems. Had normal pork ones, turkey ones, and chicken ones.
  22. HW 235 SW 206 CW 180 Goal 125 Date of surgery 8/12/13 Age 53 Height 5' 4 1/2"
  23. You need bacon extract
