  1. Never even occurred to me, but I've had several surgeries before. Getting hit by a car is more likely.
  2. What answer are you expecting to get from him that would make it OK for you to proceed? I suspect that nothing he would say would make you comfortable. If that is so, switch doctors now, unless you just want to punish him by putting him on the spot. I don't approve of drunk driving either, but personally I would never confront my doctor about it. That's just me, though.

  4. I believe the acid in coffee can be a problem, besides the caffeine causing dehydration and acid. My dr said the caffeine also increases hunger. I think you could plan for that. I have decaf now and then, but I really lost my taste for coffee after the surgery Lots of people drink it, though, so it doesn't kill you.

  6. Nonfat milk always works in a pinch (they never have small containers so I just get a quart). Nonfat cottage cheese if they have it, lowfat if they don't. Packet of nuts, sunflower seeds, beef jerky (look for ones with little or no sugar, local brands seem to have less sugar than the national brands). Some of the mini marts carry Muscle Milk now. Powerade Zero.

  8. It is theoretically reversible. No one has done it yet. It also doesn't remove the portion of your stomach that creates ghrelin (I can never spell that right). So you will continue to have hunger. It is a good option for some people, but none of the options are perfect. You just need to pick the right one for you.

  10. It's your decision. You are the one who has to live with it, not anyone else. Don't feel bad about it. Just commit yoursef to doing the best you can with it and I'm sure you will lose weight just fine. Good luck.

  12. How great is that! A wonderful story.

  14. I can completely envision my cat biting a drain. I hope it didn't hurt much to remove it, and I'm glad you still have your sense of humor so you could share that lovely visual with us. When I get a tt I will guard against this LOL.

  16. I went on their website (I'm always hoping to find a good protein) but Big Train is not Protein isolate. My dr requires us to use isolates because you don't absorb all the protein from the other types. From their website: Casein is the protein of choice in Fit Frappé. The source of the protein is Calcium Caseinate. http://www.bigtrain.com/Protein-Drink-Mixes.aspx Probably why it tastes good LOL

  20. Cushy, judging from your profile picture, I think you are pretty gorgeous now! This surgery is going to help us with a lot more than looks, though. Think how wonderful to have more energy for your child, be able to sit anywhere without worrying if you fit, buy the clothes you want, escape other people's judgement because of our size. Best wishes to you on your journey.
  21. It does happen and I think it just takes time. I just bought some smaller sized things from another member on here, thinking it would be a long time before they fit, but they fit perfectly now. Give it time and your head will catch up with your body. I remember when I thought I should be in a smaller size than what was currently fitting. So glad it's moving the other way now.
  22. When you are on liquids, it doesn't matter. When you start food, though, don't do it. One, it can cause you to eat too much, as you know. For me, the liquid comes back up (yecch) so I don't dare do it. I wait a good hour before drinking. If you aren't getting your protein in, you have to choke down protein drinks. I know it's nasty and you are sick of them, but you gotta do it. There are all sorts of posts here on how to improve the taste, different brands to try, etc. Good luck!

I feel ya, girl. Vent away.
  24. Take a GasX strip and walk walk walk. Good luck, I hope it wears off soon.
