SexyBack517 got a reaction from indian in Vegetarian diet - is this impossible post-OP
Exactly! I've been vegetarian for 17 years & eat sugar, carby pastas, fat, & other things that have made me gain tons of weight! I got sleeved 2/6 & don't regret it. That was a silly comment. Thanks FallenAngel for addressing it! :-)

I don't want to sound like an ass- but I'm going to. Or everyone who is so concerned with consuming alcohol so soon after surgery I want you to take a good hard look and the label on your liquid Lortab. It's 14 proof. Not going to say that anyone should go out drinking but please spare me the dramatics of pouring alcohol on an open wound.

I think there are hard moments mentally with
    "Wanting" more sometimes.
I have not eaten until sick or throwing up.
But if I'm being honest? There have been moments that I have wished I could take a "break" and eat (binge) on something good.
There was a certain "pleasure" eating vast amounts of food for some of us yeah?
I am a addictive personality so eating for me was not just hunger as some people here say their eating was.
Hehehe... After reading the above responses I sound screwed!!!

I can eat spicy food just fine. The trick is that post-sleeve we are instructed not to drink with meals. It's tough for me to get through a spicy meal with nothing to drink, so I tend to avoid frequent spicy meals.

I will be flying in April 11th and having surgery the 12th and then leaving on the 15th. I will be going with Cabrera and Valenzuela, so excited (then nervous) to get the show on the road.

What about making a few smaller ramekins of like a layered taco salad with the guac and bean dip and just eat it with a small spoon? Can just grab your own portion size and have at it.
If you're on solid foods you could use vege sticks as the dippers - jicama is good as it's crunchy and very mild and great with the Mexican style dips.< /p>

Hi everyone! This is my very 1st post. Yay! I was sleeved January 18th and I'm down 33 pounds total including pre and post op weightloss. I'm excited about my new life. During my time off from work, I have realized that most of the commercials on tv are all about food. Lol. This 1st week has been very difficult, but I'm trying to make the best of it. I wish everyone luck on their journey.

It's the first day of our new lives! Of course we're all anxious worry stress warts... but the sooner we get it over with we can get back to being US AGAIN! If you bail, you'll always wish you'd taken the opportunity. I wish I'd done this YEARS ago!

Shopped for my pre-op diet and got some of the stuff I'll need post-op. Someone told me about Peanut Butter powder and I got some to add to my Protein Drinks. It's really pretty good. It's a lot lower in calories and fat than regular or even reduced fat PB. I can't wait to try it in a shake. I also got a bottle off liquid vitamins/minerals. I was scared, but it really doesn't taste too bad. It's bright green tho. LOL! Oh well, as long as I can get it down, that's all that matters. I start my pre-op diet Monday. I remember what it was like from before I was banded. Not looking forward to it, but am trying to keep in mind that it will help me get to where I want to be. Having my hubby make his famous grilled burgers tonight. The last one for a long time. I'm not sad about that though, I'm just ready to feel better and find myself again.

For me, I couldn't write a letter like that. I went into this procedure with my eyes wide open but optimistic.
I have 8 year old twin girls. I was completely transparent with them, but age appropriate. I explained the procedure to them and what affect that would have after the surgery. I reassured them that I'd be alright, because that's my job.
I guess I could get killed at work, in a plane, crossing the street. I've seen people die at the dentist after a reaction to something they were given. Actually I've seen people die in lots of strange ways, but that's another story.
I'd hate them to read a letter later and think 'he was worried enough to write a letter, so why did he do it'. They know I love them with all my heart, because I tell them every day.
Long story short - the best policy with kids is to be age appropriate and honest.
My thoughts. Good luck with the way you go.
