  1. I've never been a smoker, but both my parents passed away from lung cancer...so I hope I don't offend when I say that I am so proud of you for taking this HUGE difficult step towards a healthy future. I'm happy for you and will say a quick prayer that the road is as easy and short as possible. What a terrific post to read...I am thrilled for you!!! Rain
  2. What a great early morning surprise. I hopped on the scale and lost two pounds...so I never even got to see the scale see halfway. Can I just tell you all how much I love this band? I know I am preaching to the choir....but it is just the best thing that has ever happened to me. LOVE IT!!! Rain
  3. rainer....................265....................258.............255..............3 YAHOO!!! I'm past halfway to my first goal..a healthy BMI and a weight of 180!!! Rain
  4. Hey StainedGal, We all do that at some point. Don't beat yourself up about it!!! Should we lengthen this challenge until NY day? Name...................... Rain
  5. What do you love about your band surgeon and their practice? I love that they are truly knowledged in banding procedures...also, I love that they know who I am from visit to visit. It is obvious by the things they say that I am me...not just another fat woman. What do you hate? I strongly dislike that I have to wait a month after a fill (with fluero) to meet with the dr. and then set an appt (usually a month away) for another fill. I'd prefer to be able to do these things on my timeline...I am not a child, I know what my body needs and don't like waiting two months for something I know I need. Also, waiting over an hour for my appt. is unacceptable... What do we do well? The support for the banded patients is excellent. The office staff is generally top notch and personable. What could we do better? just the above mentioned thing re: getting fills. What more could we do to help you succeed? When I call to tell you that I am having a problem or would like to discuss how to jump start my weight loss...don't tell me that I've already gone beyond the statistics of the band. I don't care that I'm doing better than I should be doing (statistically...)...I wan to know how to change things for me! How could we improve your customer experience with our practices? nothing to add ehre. rain
  6. Congrats to you and your wife on the birth of Liam!!! Rain

I'll join in... Surfing the net...reading...crochet...and being a mama..
  8. I just watched it. I was so happy for those women I had tears streaming down my face. Such joy in their faces. They totally sent the correct person home...although I canno stand that boy Christian and thought the other guy should have won. Christian is too much like my old students...annoying and without impulse control. Bleh! Do you think Heidi is pregnant again? Both outfits were ballooning int he middle. If only I could have looked like her while pregnant...instead I was like omar the tent makers dress dummy...not pretty! Rain
  9. Oh...all clothing is not for tall people...average height...maybe....but not tall people. Trust me!!! I will never like to shop because I am a giant...and while some clothing can be altered for petites (I know not all of them)...no amount of tailoring can lengthen clothing...well...except for putting lace at the bottom of the sleeves...you know, cause that looks good! I do, however, like to shop for other people...my sister is an 8...and average height...she's sooo much fun to shop with. I live vicariously through her! Where are the tall sections at Macy's???? Rain
  10. Congrats on being fat!!! Way to go!!! Rain
  11. I had to go to the eye drs. to have my glasses tightened. COOL! Rain
  12. I worried about that as well...but after wearing them today I can honestly say that they felt fine...I had that trouble with other jeans that I owned prior to these. They are a thin material...so I think that helps!!! I think you could buy them from Nordstroms and keep the tags on and then be able to return them after wearing them around the house for a while to see if they bug your port... Best of luck! Rain
  13. Paulex...They are just at the cusp...I think...they are 33inches long...I am between a 33 and 34...I have a long torso...and long legs...I've always felt that was frustrating...but perhaps it is better in the long run. Losingjusme! Hello friend. I owe you a pm...sorry. They are snug, but more comfy than regular jeans...partly because there is no bulge of fat over the top...Ahhh...the lack of muffin top! Thanks for your compliments girls...I feel way better in these than I look...but I put them up against my side shot from the day of surgery...and I look darn good...for me...I can't wait to lose my gut...It's so like a man's... Rain
  14. I'd say that's a good plan. I got an 18W...I fit into the 18, but there was slightly more room in the 18W's thigh... I think I'm more of a 20...so I would order down a size... Good luck! Rain
  15. Oh, I'm glad I'm not the only one breaking the bank for a pair of jeans... I was a little less than thrilled when I saw the price...but God...they are so comfortable...and my butt....have I mentioned that yet??? What I love is that there is no muffin top...thank goodness. Rain
  16. It's not even funny... I consider it a workout... Oh, and the positions....just imagine!!! Rain
  17. Literally... very comfortable and lightweight and gave me a butt... They are called Not your daughters jeans. I got the Tummy Tuck style and they are amazing. They are made for women who have curves, not their stick figure counterparts. Since I've had three kids, and have lost almost 80lbs, I have a ridiculous amount of extra skin...it's so nasty. Well, these come higher (AMEN) and are comfy and don't look like mom jeans. And my butt....oh my God...my butt...it is great. Well, the jeans are...not my butt... oh, and they are an 18...from a 28...Gracious me! Go buy these jeans.....(Nordstroms and Bloomies among other places...) ETA: I am tall...but not a giant...my mother in law took these from a seated position...and I wish I could get rid of my gut...I look like a male beer drinker...thanks, twins! Rain light jeans are my regular lane bryants....dark are my new NYDJ jeans
  18. That's wonderful!!! Congrats and have a great time! Rain
  19. great poem..thanks for sharing it with us...I may send it out! Rain
  20. I agree...I have this same feeling and sometimes I share it, but other times I keep it to myself. You don't need to justify yourself...you are doing the work with the aide of the band.... Good luck for continued success! Rain
  21. Congratulations...I cannot WAIT to see those 180s...that's my first goal...the first time since I don't ever remember when that I will be at a healthy BMI... Good luck to you and dance your butt off!!! Rain
  22. Think back to a time when you would have comforted yourself with food...and you would not have had a story to share about it... Just bigger hips!!! Thanks for sharing...that was funny! Rain
  23. another update rainer....................265....................2 61.............255................6
  24. My rings are getting way too big. I have my wedding and engagement bands, but also an antique ring that was my great great aunt's, my mother's after her, and now mine. I am going to have to take it off soon, but I can't decide to have it resized now or wait until later.... What has everyone else done? Thanks!!! I love these decisions! Rain
