t3max got a reaction from sweetchunkygirl2183 in Nov Sleevers... What's Your Status?
I was 326 when I started pre-op diet. I weighed 305 on surgery day ( 11/28 ). I weighed in today at 282. I've lost 23 pounds since surgery and a total of 44 pounds since I started this journey. Congrats to everyone. We will all be big losers soon.

First thing to remember is not to compare yourself to anyone else. NO ONE has your body, your genetics, your stress, your mindset, your daily life. So you are comparing apples to turnips, if you compare yourself to others here on VST or anywhere else!
Next, by my calculation, you are 9 weeks post-op and you've lost close to 36 lbs! This is 4 lbs/week. When was the last time (before your surgery) you were able to lose 4 lbs/week over a 9 week period (even with a 6 week stall?). Never, I'll bet!
Your body is trying to work through the major assault it has been subjected to. The VSG is a significant trauma to your stomach, and the anaesthesia and post-op recovery is a huge insult to the rest of your body. Give it time to react, adjust and heal!
Stop weighing yourself and concentrate on making sure you track your fluids, your Protein intake and seeing/feeling how your body is reacting to the subtle changes in your diet. You are slowly moving towards a more "normal" eating pattern. Pay close attention to what your body tolerates, what it doesn't like, how you feel when you eat certain foods, how eating at a certain time of day impacts you, how not drinking enough slows you down, etc.
There is so much to pay attention to right now......don't let the stupid scale take all your attention and motivation away. The weight will drop off, if you stay on track..........it's mathematically impossible for it NOT to. But it won't happen on a schedule, it won't be linear, there WILL be stalls that you just can't seem to break. STAY THE COURSE. You will get there.
VST is full of posts just like yours. You are not the first to go through this, you won't be the last and you are NOT alone, even right now! But we're all here to help, to listen, to give advice and to let you know that you will be successful. You just have to believe it, and LIVE it.......it will happen.

I grabbed a baseball hat out of my closet I haven't worn since I weighted 326 pounds. Now weighing 282 I had to tighten the hat quite a bit. It was a weird but awesome feeling. Also the other day we went to a restaurant and got seated in a booth. Prior to sleeve my tummy fat would hit te edge of the table. Now I didn't touch and had plenty of room. It was a good feeling.

Hey girl! I'm 24 as well and I had the same issues with my bf!! I recently broke up with him 2 weeks ago because I could not take it anymore!! We were together for 3 1/2 years and I finally had the strength to leave him! I hope what you do is what is right for you. I feel happier than ever and don't regret it

I'm here in L.A Harbor Area, and we have a Chicano (Mexican-American) version of your fries cheese and gravy mixture. We call it Carne Asada Fries! Usually like Nachos but in lieu of tortilla chips you use fries. Fries covered with cheese, refried Beans, cheese, crema (Mexican sour cream), guacamole, salsa (tomatoes, onions, chilis, cilantro), and chunks of Carne Asada. The perfect munchie & drunk food, but dietary suicide. I'm gonna miss this one...

I love how you pretty much sum it all up in those words and it gives a very distinct mental image.

    That's it, T3.
From the viewpoint of a father of a girl that married an emotionally stunted, self-centered, girly man who put her through hours and hours of verbal abuse before she finally was rid of him...it is so not worth it. Unless you want to be his therapist for the rest of your life find a MAN.

t3max got a reaction from shuhnaynuh in My Journey So Far
    Hello everyone,
My name is Tom. I am 33 years old. I started the sleeve journey weighing in at 326 pounds. A month later my preop weight was 305. I got sleeved 11/28 in the afternoon. In addition to the sleeve my surgeon also fixed my hiatal hernia. I have sleep apnea so I stayed at the hospital over night. The pain at the sleeve site isn't that bad. But the pain at the repaired hernia site has been uncomfortable. I do have roxicet for the pain and that has helped. I also notice a moderate level of neasea so I got a medicine for that also. I have been sipping liquids and walking aroud my whole house. The walking helps most. Well just found this site and decided to introduce myself. Looking forward to sharing more of my journey with you all.

    Hello,
I just wanted to post and let you all know that the first two days post-op were pretty painful for me, especially at the hiatal hernia repair location.
Here is the good part. I woke up today feeling way better. Still a little discomfort, but very manageable with liquid Tylenol.
I do not plan on weighing myself until 7 days post-op. I want to give my body some time to adjust and heal.
    I am so excited!
