  1. much much easier than I expected. Had one dose of pain med after surgery then didn't need anymore. I made sure I walked a lot before and right after surgery. I think it really helps with the pain and recovery factor.
  2. Ok, I understand that in the long run the bougie size between 32 to 40 are minimal. I believe I read that it is about an ounce difference overall. Well I've read about quite a few people that have restriction early on and I wonder if it has to do with the bougie size. With the swelling of our tiny tummies, I think bougie size in the first couple of weeks/months can make a big difference. If you know what bougie size your doctor used, could you let us know and if you have problems with getting in fluids and for how long before you're able to get in all fluids? I hope we can gather enough data to show how much bougie size affects restriction immediately after surgery until 4-6 months out so that new sleevers can have an idea of what bougie size to discuss with their doctor. My doctor used a 38 bougie and I had no problems with fluids starting day 3, my first full day at home.
  3. try to relax. you'll do fine...just keep positive thoughts in mind...just think how great you'll look and feel after the weight loss. Just take things slowly in the beginning. I was sleeved in Feb and am doing great from the day I got home. Sure I had some adjustments to make like sipping slowly and making sure I got all my fluids in. I did vomit on the second night, but after that I felt great. The next day, I was able to get all Proteins and fluids in. each day was better and better. good luck tomorrow....let me know how it goes. I hope you have smooth surgery and speedy recovery.
  4. I think you need to check with your insurance since it varies from company to company. good luck.
  5. I'm glad I didn't have to do that test. Unless they did it when I was knocked out
  6. You're not doing anything wrong unless you're not following your dr/nut's instructions. on average, you're losing over 4 lbs a week! I think that's fantastic!

  10. hehehe...maybe because I have depression that I just had to talk to my psych doctor for 5 minutes for her to determine the meds are doing their job and I'm not suicidal . might have become suicidal if I had to answer hundreds of questions
  11. I'm sorry youre having so many problems. I hope the doctors figure it out soon. You've loss over 100 lbs! that's great! You're right to focus on health first. The weight will come off. good luck to you. Oh, I'm on my 4th week and the hair is alredy coming out in handfuls and my hair is perfectly straight. I don't want to comb it so it looks like more hair without it falling out completely
  12. newgrandmother, sometimes it helps to change up your routine. like more calories for a day or increase exercise for a day
  13. I'm with laura-ven and I'll join her in kicking your ass You only have a few more days,so try to stick to it. Just think it'll help give you a smoother surgery and you do want that don't you?
  14. try to get all your fluids in and try increasing calories for a day....need to fool your body that there isn't a famine and it's okay to let the fat go. I was on about a two week stall then one day I was down 3 lbs. vsgkirk has good advice....it's hard to not weigh ourselves everyday. I still do it, but I keep in mind that I will have stalls, but I continue to eat right.
  15. try upping your calories for one day and make sure you get in your water.....good luck by the way, 55 lbs down is great!
  16. oh, I get that...either eat/drink slower...I'm still learning to slow down....not sure why you're feeling it if you have't eaten. I hope you can figure it out.
  17. Have you tried the ground turkey, taco seasoning, and refried beans? I just made it tonight and you can't tell its turkey.
  18. I like it cold and plain. Or make it into something similar to tuna salad
  19. Ok.., I'm going to be the first to say, first appearances of a bald man does nothing for me, but if I find he has a great personality then it can be overlooked.
  20. I hope my train is as reliable as yours!
