Dr Alveraz
Crazy question here......The gas pain, is it from the gas pumped in while the surgery is performed? I see lots of folks post about Gas-X but how does it work for that type of gas? I can't understand how it would help with gas that is not actually in your stomach. I hate acid reflux or heartburn, I hope that I don't have that after surgery. or vomiting

Alvarez Or Aceves...help Me Decide
I am partial to Dr. Alvarez but choose the Dr. that yuou feel most comfortable with. I did alot of research, called Dr. Aceves and spoke to his coordinator also. I chose Dr. Alvarez for lots of reasons (one of the biggies was his location). Closer to home and I felt more comfortable with that. Plus, he has great feedback, very hard to find anything negative about him. He has done several people that have YouTube videos that traveled alone and no problems at all. My hubby is my travel partner and I know he will be well cared for too. I always belive that you have to go with your gut instinct. Mine usually never fails me.

Oh My--It Is July--Surgery Month!
I get really nervous if I THINK about the actual surgery. I try not to dwell on that part, hopefully it won't get worse as the day gets closer. I have never met my surgeon yet but I trust the people I have talked to about him and his good reviews. I know he is a great doctor and he will do his best on me. My husband has told me that he gets scared for me SO I try to be strong and not show concern. I don't want him stressing over my stress. The morning of the actual surgery I am sure that I will be a nervous mess!

Seeking Reliable, Cost Effective Surgeon
Check out Dr. guilermo Alvarez at www.endobariatrics.com He has many YouTube videos and even more testimonies on Obesityhelp.com. He simply is one of the best surgeons out there! His price is $8,700.00 or it was a few weeks back when I booked my surgery date. Good-luck!!

What Are You Looking Forward To?
I love reading these posts. I am most looking forward to NOT walking in the room and scanning the room to see if I am the largest perso there. Not having to think about where I am seated in a crowded restaurant, as I may not be able to get through the isles if I need to get up for any reason. I am looking forward to being active again, not having joint pain, being able to ride a bike, going to the beach, having fun with my handsome husband, not taking lots of medications every day, being able to dress up and look great, feeling younger than my birthdays tell me I am (!) and living a longer healthy life. I want to be able to take my hubby on a cruise for our 30th anniversary and feel 30 again. I am hoping that 2013 will bring all these things and more that I have not even thought about yet.

Day 1 Pre-Op
True, I did the Medifast diet for several months and the chocolate shakes are good. I only drank choc. tried other flavors but did not like them. The chicken soup is good but you have to season it up some. I will probably place an order for some to have in house for the weeks after surgery.

Accused Of Husband Stealing
Your story literally made me tear up I have thought about situations like this, where we could run into people that we only see occasionally and they could think my hubby was with another woman ( we have been married 29 years). I actually truly hope it WILL happen to us one day. I am sure both you and your husband felt so proud of your accomplishment! That is awesome !

Im So Scared To Do This!
I wish you all the best in this venture. You have to get in your head that you have the power, not the food. Your pre op is a chance to work on your mental prep for thr first few weeks after your surgery. The first three to four days you may feel sluggish or even have flu like symptoms. Not at all uncommon, but you can mentally push through. You want to lose weight and this is your opportunity. Don't let your mind convince you that you can' t do it. Eat what you really want today, no matter what it is, and tomorrow just set your mind to follow the rules all the way. I am typing this not only for you but for myself. I start my pre op in three weeks. I have been on Medifast diet for many months so I understand how our bodies try to convince us of hunger when we are nutritionally fed. After surgery you may try just sitting with your baby and not actually lifting as much as is possible. I understand how hard that is , as I had two babies in a year, both C-section. Not easy being a mom when you are healing from surgery!!

My Story
Hi, Aimee, I know that insurance requires a lot from someone before they pay out for the surgery. I am happy to hear that you have made it through it all. My niece just did the same thing I am self pay, so I am going to Mexico to have my surgery on Aug.2. I am ready and looking forward to the day. Not so much the surgery and pain but for the day to get here so I can start new with my life. I am excited for you Best of luck with your surgery and weight loss!

Irritated With Eveyone Around Me
I work with my husband, son and two other young guys. I guess that I should warn them of upcoming mood swings. Better to be warned than unaware, They are going to love me. I have read this type of post from many ladies so I know it could very well happen to me too.
