  1. My doctor here in VA does fills for other patients, but only if they were banded in the US. We have a lot of military in our area, so he would be a good source for families moving around the country. I don't have the amount he charges, my selfpay came with free fills for a year.
  2. I gained 5 lbs in the hospital and was only there overnite and never had a meal or anything to drink while I was in there, all IV's. Are you sore from the gas? Your doctor should have given you something for the pain if you're having pain from the surgery. I didn't need meds when I got home, but everyone's different. I didn't have tummy gas either, but I had pain in my left shoulder. Hope you're feeling better real soon.
  3. Try some gas-x and try to walk as much as you can. Walking helps get rid of the gas. Glad you had some protein. I drank wonton soup, without the wontons and egg drop soup, just strained the eggs. Both were very good and healthy too. Sugar free popcicles were also quite yummy, helped when you had that urge to chew on something. Please stay in touch.
  4. My dh was all for it if it made me happy. He did ask one time if they insurance was paying for it, it didn't matter if they were or not I was having it done, then I told him to go count his Harley's. He never mentioned the price again, LOL.
  5. Michelle, do you get to pay half price now since ya lost 86 lbs? Twice a week, OMG, my skin would look like a raisin. I go in the spring, just to get a base, but I cover my head, face, and hair. I've tried to figure out a way to just tan the legs, and you oh so right, fat looks much better tanned.
  6. Are you sure you didn't misunderstand and he what he actually said was liquids. I've never heard of a doctor saying only water. I was able to have anything that would go through a straw from the getgo. I would suggest you call your doctor back Monday, you should at least be drinking stuff like instant breakfast or protein drinks. I'll bet you ARE starving. You, well at least I could have s/f popcicles, s/f jello, and all the liquids I could drink. Let us know how it's going and good luck.
  7. Gee, do you think Trish is excited? I'm so happy for you girl, the big day is very near. I wish you the best.
  8. It's been 23 days since my last fill and I'm still miserable. I'd rather lose slowly than pb everything I try to eat. I had gained 12 of muscle my 3rd month, it's probably all gone now. I hate to give in, but I plan on calling my doctor and get an itsy bitsy tiny bit taken out. I know he's going to be frustrated with me because I've had more unfills than fills. I was up to 2 in a 4cc band, now I'm barely 1.75. What's a bandster to do.
  9. Good luck with the next two weeks, you can do it. Just remember, you've come this far and if you even take a sip, you gotta start all over from scratch. Not to mention you had this surgery to be a healthier you. You can do it!
  10. Good for you! My mom and I are bandsters and we both feel like we've made great decisions. It's normal to be nervous, but you'll be on your way to a new thinner, healthier you. I wish you the best!
  11. $16,750.00, Dr. Terracina, Newport News, VA. self pay, fills for a year.
  12. As for me I never had a problem with crackers, I actually prefer crackers instead of bread products. I don't have a problem with orange juice either, especially if it's really cold and a little vodka in it, hehehehe. I think it's a personal thing, although, oj does have a lot more calories. Have you tried apple juice?
  13. I'm currently too restricted so I would definately advise you to stay away from another fill at this time, especially since you're right on target with the weekly weight loss. Believe me, being too restricted is worse than thinking you "might" need a fill. I think you're doing great, you're exercising, making good choices and losing weight. You go girl!
  14. I can't eat potatoes of any kind. When I read you were having a Healthy Choice meal, I thought oh that sounds good. Since my fill on the 6th, anything over a couple of bites and here it comes. Very annoying I might add.
  15. Hey Tammy, that's wonderful. Egg salad and chili were my mushy favorits, heck they still are my favorites. My mom's lost 8 and really enjoyed the egg salad too. I sent an email to Inamed to see if she's the oldest bandster, but I haven't heard back yet. Take care.
  16. If I went back to liquids every time I pb'd I'd be on them nonstop. I'm not saying that wouldn't be a good idea, but my fill is a little snug. That golf ball feeling hurts, I warned my mom about that, but she had to find out for herself, like we all do. Old bad habits are hard to break, I'm 4 months out and still get ping pong ball sizes now.

I really can't figure out how Scott's still on there with his attitude. It's hard to believe he's got that many voters. He does look like he's lost a little weight, sure hasn't helped his personality if he has, LOL.
  18. DallasDoll, IMO, I think you made a great choice and the person you were talking to probably regrets not taking our route. Just a note, those scales will become your enemy if you jump on them everyday. Try to get in the habit of weighing once a week, it not only gives you something to look forward to, you'll prevent the blues when you have a day you don't lose or maybe even gain .5 lb after you start mushy and solid stages. You're doing great.
  19. Curves I don't mind, it's these dang rolls I have a problem with, LOL.

Anwar got the boot. Should have been Scott with that disgusting attitude and smirk when he was in the bottom 3 group.
  21. I don't know bandit, I got a fill 2 weeks ago and only dropped a 1-2 lbs, and I can hardly eat anything that will stay down. I couldn't even get a milkshake to stay down today. I'm considering getting some taken out Thursday, I'm sooooo tired of pbing.
  22. Hope you're feeling better. You've been through so much. Pamper yourself.
  23. So sorry to hear about your father in law, that was special of you to forego your surgery date in consideration of others. May is just around the corner.
  24. Welcome Dawn, you're adorable, not to mention quite an inspiration to everyone.
  25. Hope you're up and about soon Katie, sorry you had to go through so much to become a bandster. I wish you the best girl, you deserve it after all you've been through. Take care of yourself.
