I just finished the prelim process. My Dr. is faxing the approval request today. He scheduled me for surgery on June 22. I'm nervous but from what I read here that's normal. You look wonderful, you have a great face. Are you happy you did this? Any advice for a 'new' person?

I wrote a message eariler, but I think I did it wrong. I applied for lap band surgery about 5 weeks ago and found out on Monday that both me and my husband were qualified. I lost my job on April 8th and they agreed to pay my insurance through the end of the month. I called my doctor and he had both of us come in on Tuesday and he scheduled my surgery for next Wednesday and my husbands for Friday, before my insurance expires. This has all happened so fast. I am 5'6" and my current weight is 187. I am getting scared after reading some things on this site. Does anyone reget getting the band. I hope I am making the right decision.

i sent you a instant mess/ you are thin already at 187 . was that a misprint? that would make your bmi around 30 , or am i figuring it wrong? i am scared also but i have found this site to be so helpful. i check it everyday to see how people are doing sandie

That is correct. I sent you back a reply in regard to my insurance. I guess I qualified because of my family history and my blood pressure was kind of high too.
