  1. ok, I went to class. And I felt soooooo much better when I went. And I actually felt really strong for the first time. I'm glad that I went. I'll have to read this post the next time I don't want to go...
  2. ok, I'm forcing myself to go...
  3. don't know what my problem is the past couple of days, but dreading spin tonight. and I usually really like it...:faint:
  4. :whoo:Awesome NSV...and 3.5lbs is great. Better than nothing at all, or gaining.
  5. Thats awesome. I have class tonight, I can't wait. So does 15 minutes of strenght training count? I was totally not into it last night, but made myself pick up some weights, but clearly it didn't last too long.
  6. Also, another place I thought I'd never lose weight, my wrists. My bracelets are huge!
  7. I also tried running last friday. Couldn't do it. I walked to warm up for 6 minutes, then I took a deep breath and increased the speed until I was jogging. It lasted 60 seconds and then I couldn't do anymore. I lasted about another 4 minutes on the treadmill walking, then I was way pooped! I may try it again in a month, see what happens...
  8. Di, did it make you hate spinning, or are you going to give it another go?
  9. I've heard some people talk about the sandwich size ziplocks for those just in case moments. Problem with that is that you can see right through...
  10. Good tip, I was just looking at the gel covers yesterday, but decided against it only because my butt is just now getting used to it. But I do want to look into getting spinning shoes.
  11. :whoo: That's Awesome!!! Denise, hope your feeling better, OH Juli, you look awesome. Welcome back Laralynn! demsvmejm, I completely agree. I love coming on here and reading about all of the success of marchies. It completely motivates me. And Janine, funny how now that your eating more, your dropping the pounds!
  12. you totally won't look like an idiot, it's a great class for beginners because you can fake the tension if it gets to be too much, or you can just sit back and cycle slowly. I still can't do everything the instructor is calling for, but I know I'm getting a great workout! The other think that I like about it is usually the spin classes turn the lights out and blast the music, so I know nobodys looking at my butt jiggle!
  13. the seats are smaller, I thought that riding the precor bikes for a couple weeks before I started spin would help, but I was wrong!
  14. Friday, 25 min stationary bike, 10 min treadmill (super incline) Saturday, 5 min elliptical warm up 60 minutes with devil trainer (legs)
  15. I was swollen for a couple of weeks, but it does definatly go away!
  16. Personally I try to get anywhere from 80-100 grams per day. Doc wants me at 80, nutritionist at 100. Sometimes I can only get 60, sometimes I get 130, but I try to keep it in the range of 80-100 grams.
  17. Thats Awesome OH Juli!!! I noticed something this morning...At work I have to walk up a flight of stairs to get to the ladies room, and previously I had to walk up slow, and I was usually out of breath by the time I got there. This morning I noticed I was jogging up the steps, and I was definately not out of breath. That made me feel really good!
  18. my trainer has me doing 1 min of bicep curls, 1 min of tricep extensions, 1 min of another bicep exercise, 1 min of another tricep exercise, 1 min of shoulder presses, 1 min of back extensions? (don't know the name, I know that won't help you), then 10 pushups (real pushups, not girl pushups). Then do the same thing 2 more times with no rests in between.
  19. oh yeah, thursday, 60 min with personal trainer, 5 min warm up on treadmill
  20. spinning - class with stationary bikes and instructor creating a "ride" for you. Bikes have tension knobs, when going down a hil, no resistance and fast pace, when riding up a hill, high tension, slower pace, coming up off the saddle at times. Very challenging, but also great for a beginner because we can go at our own pace. There is a spinning thread going on in the exercise forum, and there is a much better definition of spinning there!
  21. Thats Awesome! What I wanna know is can you walk today?!?
  22. Only the truth losing, you've even inspired me to hire a personal trainer. Not something I had even thought of before surgery!
  23. losing is awesome, she motivates me to move! I check out her posts almost daily, and it just makes me want to go to the gym.
  24. nothing for yesterday, besides walking around target for 3 hrs...tonight I have my hour with the personal trainer, I'm so scared!
  25. Hey, you never know! There were a few boys in my class!
