  1. Neveragain Don't feel that bad. Just came back from docs office, lost a whole 2 lbs this month. Geez...I've been working so damn hard I thought I'd at least see 50 lbs gone! I'm not sure what it is, but it seems like ever since I started working out, I have been losing 2 lbs a month. She looked back in her charts, and since July it has been steadily 2 lbs....
  2. That doesn't seem like it would be boring...
  3. Ouchie...But THANKS!!!! Ok, I'm gonna go. I'll have a full report tomorrow morning.
  4. I didn't start right away with strength training, just cardio. I would do 4-5 days a week of the elliptical for about 40-60 minutes. If the strength training is working for you know, go for it! It can only help. As of now, I do strength training 2 times a week for an hour, and 3-4 days of 45+min of cardio. Some days I take spin classes, one day of cardio machines (elliptical/stairstepper/bike/treadmill), and a walk outdoors for 45+min. The walk usually includes lots of hills, up and down, and I just started doing intervals of sprinting (only for about 60 seconds).
  5. So, I need someone to kick my a$$ today and tell me that I need to go to the gym. I know I should go, but I have a sore throat and thought it may be better to pick up a pint of real ice cream and nurse the throat (I know, completely irrational, I could have a sugar free fugsicle or popsicle) and hang out on the couch... Kick my a$$!
  6. Do it for 2 minutes at a time a couple of times a day. Ellipticals are awesome. And it is really hard to start up on them. Just do as much as your body will allow, and go back to it after a short break. Repeat for as along as possible. You'll eventually work up to 3 minutes, then 4, then 20, then an hour...
  7. Di - you're right. Not that sore. I definately thought it would be worse!
  8. Boo Boo is right. Take her advice. Not only does she know, but we all know because we have all been there before. If nobody is supportive of you, come here. Everyone is supportive here!
  9. Good to know Boo Boo, I'm definately going to keep some protein on hand for after my workouts!
  10. Had my first PB in over a month today and I'm not sure why. Well, I did eat a piece of broccoli, big piece, of raw broccoli, and didn't chew it very well. But usually it just goes down, even if I don't chew that well. Not this time. I forgot how actually awful it is to PB, even though it did make me feel so much better. Anyone notice that with stress the band seems to tighten up? Maybe I was stressed, because thats usually what happens to me!
  11. So I just got back, and I'm already sore. I really don't want tomorrow to come. I'd like to just skip to thursday...I'm scared!!!
  12. Oh yeah, 60min spin class. I was supposed to do some pushups, but I already have my sneaks off. If I do them without sneakers, I just slide down! And I'm way to tired now to put them back on. Double time tomorrow. Speaking of sneakers, I thought I'd share how dumb I was. I've been taking spin class about 2-3 times per week now for about 2 months and everytime I start pedaling my toes go completely numb. Its really been bothering me and I keep thinking that I'm doing something wrong so I asked the instructor tonight and she told me my sneakers were way too tight at the toe box. She loosened them up for me and it made such a difference. I thought it was the bike, or sitting down too long, or standing up to long, or my foot wasn't on the pedal the right way, or my technique....well I guess it was my technique, of tying my SHOES. Never thought I would need a lesson on that again.
  13. Thats really interesting...I'll have to go have my glass of milk now...
  14. Spin tonight. Very scared, I haven't been in over a week. I'm so afraid I'll be sore!!!
  15. Actually Water aerobics would really help. And I really don't think anybody will be looking at you because they will be to busy thinking that you're looking at them! Otherwise you could get a pair of 5lb weights and just do all types of arm exercises, and really burn out the muscles. Try doing 2-3 sets of 30 reps each. Just do a search for upper body exercises. And try pushups, real ones, they have really helped me. When I started I could only do 1 at a time. Now I can do 25 at a time.
  16. Pug - short legs, fat body....sorta like me! At first she wasn't thrilled....but she kept up pretty well.
  17. Ok so last night went out for a 45min walk with doggy and did 10 30 to 60 second burst of sprinting!!!!! Doggy with short legs was less than thrilled. I was ecstatic. Not really the couch to 5k program, but I will definately do this much more often!!!
  18. How awesome are you!!!
  19. I take that back. I may just try the couch to 5k program and start tonight. Its time....:paranoid
  20. Saturday 80min legs (strength training) Sunday too sore!!!!!!!!!! Hopefully tonight I'll be able to get in a nice long walk.
  21. :whoo::whoo::whoo::whoo::whoo::whoo::whoo::whoo::whoo::whoo::whoo:
  22. Congrats OH Juli on the balanced ticker! Awesome work... Thanks for the thread.
  23. And on the bright side, I may just beat my ticker this month. Last month I was over 200 minutes short! And I added 100 minutes this month!!!!!
  24. Di - salt could definately be the problem. And the food choices could always be better. I'm not gonna let it bring me down though, I did lose 4 inches. Hopefully next month will bring the weight loss...
