  1. demsvmejm-you look incredible
  2. That's awesome whos, definately keep swimming in the routine because its totally working. And the trainer did say that the weight loss would slow because your increasing muscle, but you do want the muscle to be there once the weight is gone...
  3. Hey whos, I've been strength training for a couple of weeks now and I hired a personal trainer. She told me if you want to melt fat and make your muscles look really cut, you just have to burn them out. I was doing your typical 3 sets of 12 of all kinds of exercises and she said no no no! I'm now using much lighter weights (5lbs for upper body, 30-50lb for lower body) and doing 50 or so reps and 2 sets with no breaks in between. I'm not telling you that you should do this, but the trainer was telling me that your better off (me personally) working out this way for now, while you still have over 50+lbs to lose, then once you've lost all the weight that you want to, and want to build muscle you can slowly increase weight and decrease on reps.
  4. Maybe subconsciously that's why I'm not buying one!
  5. Hey Nina, Everytime I see a seat cover I say, nah, I don't think I really need it. Then right after class I'm cussing at myself because I didn't buy it! I really should invest the $12, since I'm trying to get to spin 3+ times a week...
  6. :clap2: :clap2: :clap2:
  7. I felt that way about 7 months ago...
  8. I took spin yesterday and usually the class only has a handfull of people in it on sundays. Yesterday it was just me and the instructor. I was going to leave, I definately didn't want to be the only one there, but I stuck it out and it was worth it. The instructor changed up the class based on what I could do, and challenged me. And whenever she said something, I knew it was geared towards me (since I was the only one there!) It was actually pretty cool. Its definately funner with more than 1 person, but I liked that she was just talking to me.
  9. Sat-15th, 1hr with trainer, 20min elliptical Sun-16th, 1hr spin class
  10. I wish I had that much time!
  11. had an emergency at work, missed spin. single tear...
  12. oohh, I'm so excited. I can't wait for you to try it out!
  13. Sometimes I have a hard time with apples too, and oranges. But I also like to eat them early in the morning, and I can't have a lot of things early in the morn! Ok so I'm completely addicted to spinning, its all I can think about or talk about. Everyone around me must want me to shut up already. I can't wait until tonights class though. I feel so fit!
  14. So I'm officially addicted, I went tuesday and yesterday, and I can't wait to go tonight! I guess there are worse addictions....
  15. Ditto! That's exactly how I feel.
  16. Well, I think I'll be at class tonight too. Maybe it'll help with the soreness...
  17. Oh, and I should have called out sick, I'm definately in some pain...
  18. I started my band journey in March and I didn't even start exercising until July. When I started back in July I did 40 min 3-4 times a week, using the elliptical machines. I ended up getting really bored and needed something more to challenge me, starting late august. I started taking spinning classes and hired a personal trainer. Spin is great, because you basically go at your own pace, and the personal trainer started me slow and I am slowly building up more and more, even though she did almost kill me the first session. But I think that everyone that is on the thread has taken a lot of time to build up to their exercise. And you have to remember that losing weight makes it so much easier to move...
  19. Congrats, and definately keep it up. Ok, so I have to be completely out of my mind. 60min personal trainer, upper body 60min spin class I know, I may have to call in sick to work tomorrow!:help:
  20. :whoo::whoo::whoo::whoo:
  21. I asked my doc previous to being banded and she said yes definately you can get the flu and vomit as usual, but she wants to know about every episode that I have.
