1. I'm 25 and just got my band on 3/5/2007. My problem is I can't seem to find too many people in my area, boston-providence. Anyone? I've had two fills so far, and I'm starting to feel restriction. I have 2.4cc's in a 4cc band!
2. I too was diagnosed with moderate sleep apnea, which was far from surprising considering I was snoring louder than a trucker. I was given the cpap machine and used it for about a week before surgery. After the surgery it made me nauseous so I never used it after surgery. My boyfriend told me a couple weeks ago that I'm so quiet when I'm sleeping, he hasn't heard me snore in over a month. I've only lost 30lbs, but most of the weight came off my chest, neck, face, upper body area. I think that has helped a lot! The doc told me that even after you lose weight, the pressures on the machine can go down with weight loss until the apnea is gone.
3.
Hey Denise, I was banded 3/5 and went for my second fill one week ago and am having the same problem. I have a lot of trouble with regular food even going down. I wasn't sure whether to have a slight unfill or not, but I guess I'll just wait for my next doctors appointment.

4. I agree lauraj23, my pb's have always happened withing a minute of eating something, always after a huge gulp of water, which always seems to make it worse. Guess I'll never learn. Never have slimed though. But after reading about other people sliming, don't think I ever want it to happen!
5. "Think I have Rabies Ha Ha Hey Everyone, I had my 3rd fill today....up to 2.2 in a 4 ml band. Everything went okay in the drs. office---drank my Water...and then went to my car to drive home...started to hiccup...and then...wait for it...started foaming at the mouth. Thought I was Old Yeller! Denise Do you think I am too tight?" The same thing happened to me and I was going to call my doc today for a slight unfill but I was able to eat all my Soup at lunch and some chili for dinner, haven't been able to do that since last thursday! I'd say give it a few days and if you still feel the same, then give the doc a call!
6. demsvmejm--I had the exact same thing happen to me, only lost 1 lb in two weeks, the doctor filled me up to 2.4cc's and now I'm super tight. I have a hard time keeping stuff down before noon time, unless it's coffee or tea--super hot. I also had to stay on liquids and mushies a lot longer than the first time, don't know why... I do have a question for all you bandsters...ever since my first fill, after I eat dinner, which is usually the larger meal of the day for me (300-400 calories), i get a pain in my port area. I was wondering if it could be because the fill liquid in the band is being pushed away from the stomach area because of the food to the port area? If that makes any sense. Has anyone had this happen to them?
7. Tamjpjb--Don't listen to the people at work. Obviously you decided on the band for a reason, and your surgeon thinks your a good candidate. I had the same problem before my surgery. I freaked the day before and the morning of the surgery I could not stop crying. Even after the surgery I thought to myself, what have I done?. I think thats typical for everyone to think like that. Now I'm two months post-op, rarely hungry, 30lbs gone, and I am so excited for whats to come. It takes some getting used to, but for me it was the best thing that I've done. If you go ahead with your surgery, Good Luck to you, and everyone else! Keep us posted!!!
8. I got my second fill on Thursday and have much more restriction than I did with the first fill. A week after the first fill, it was like I never had a fill. This time I feel very tight. I have still been eating very mushie food, too scared to try dry food in case of PB...
9. For me it happens the second after I eat something!
10. bjlang68 vbmenu_register("postmenu_457655", true); , I was told I had to wait 6 weeks for 1st fill, then two weeks in between each fill after.
11. Hi everyone, Have any of you March bandsters gotten a 2nd fill yet? I called my doctor Friday because a week after my first fill I wasn't feeling restricted at all so she scheduled me in for this Thursday. I hope it helps curb the hunger. I'm eating 1/2 as much before the surgery, but still hungry all the time.
