  1. My first stall started at 2 weeks and lasted about a month. Then I stalled again at about 8 weeks for another 2 weeks. I have really decided to not let it bother me too much and focus on my overall loss and NSV. I just about only have 1 chin now and can feel my cheek bones again! I can make it up 2 flights of stairs without being out of breath. I started looking more closely at my fat intake and that seemed to break my last stall. I am eating more cream of wheat for breakfast and doing small lean cuisines at lunch. It is so hard to not get frustrated, but maybe you can find something else to measure by also to get excited. I had a pair of pants that I would make sure to put on and I could feel the changes more with that than what the scale said. Those pants don't even stay up now!
  2. I have a desk job also. Sitting in one place was uncomfortable but I would try to get up and walk around every hour or two. I also went for a walk on my lunch break. I have seen people on this board that have gone back to work after just 3 or 4 days. Every person is different. I had scheduled off 2 weeks but came back early because I was feeling good. The most important thing will be getting in your fluids and Protein. Just always have something to sip on your desk!
  3. I have a desk job so no heavy lifting. The hardest part was sitting in one position for so long, I would get uncomfortable. I was restricted to lifting only 15lbs in the first 2 weeks after surgery so you may not be able to lift and turn patients that quickly after. Talk to you surgeon about it. I think the 12 hours shifts will be ok as long as you always have something to sip with you and take some breaks. Just make sure you get all your Protein or you will be exhausted. Bending over was the only thing that was still uncomfortable until about 6 weeks out but it was tolerable.
  4. First congrats on the job offer. I applied for a job right before surgery. I figured it would take awhile for them to set up interviews but they called me for an interview a couple days after. I interviewed the week after my surgery and got it! I was still in a lot of pain. So I had to start my new job less than a month out and navigate goodbye happy hours and meet and greet lunches in my mushie food phase. I Would talk to them about the time off they may be very understanding. I only took off 6 days total. I don't know if the other job is stressful but if it is your dream job you will probably be happier which will make surgery and recovery easier and less stressful I think.
  5. Vitamins can change the color too. The time I go after taking my b12 is always darker.
  6. I hope they can get the swelling down for you soon. Sending happy thoughts your way for a speedy recovery.
  7. I am not to goal yet, but I have been overweight most of my life since about age 9. My surgeon says losing 3/4 of your excess weight is the goal. I think the chart said my ideal weight was 135 at 5'5''. So with a starting weight of 284 that puts me 149 lb overweight. 149 times .75 is 112 lb to lose. I rounded down a couple pounds to an even 170 goal. I think your goal is very realistic and doable. Getting your body healthier is the true goal, so don't get hung up too much on the what the scale says. You are going to feel much better at 190 even though the chart says overweight still. I would love to pass my goal some day, but I will be happy if I make it to 170 and maintain!
  8. Today I am 14 weeks out from surgery and officially halfway to my goal weight. I am amazed everyday by the changes I see. Just today I was washing my face and couldn't believe how much more I could feel my cheek bones. I still have a ways to go but I am so glad I made the decision to get this surgery.
  9. Agree with Lissa. Full will feel different than before surgery. When I started purée it didn't take much food for me to get that feeling.
  10. I like old navy's new jeans. I wear the "flirt" as i am more straight in the waist and hips but you sound like a "sweetheart".
  11. Shrimp, which I am really bummed about. It just doesn't taste right now. I have tried it many different ways and none tasted good to me.
  12. I was sleeved and live in Austin, TX area.
  13. I waited until I was on solid food. I think I had the first one 6 weeks out. They really fill me up. I like the Cliff builder bars since they are small and 20 grams of protein.
  14. Yes, love wasabi and have had no problems with it. I will say I use less because I eat slower and have to chew so much it was burning a bit. I had no problems with ginger. I put the wasabi directly on the fish.

I stopped my nuvaring before. The doctor didn't say I had to but it can increase your risk of blood clots so I chose to. I stopped 2 weeks before and then started after my first period after.
  16. I had sashimi at 7 weeks and it was great. Tons of protein. I had one piece of roll with rice though and it wasn't great feeling. I can eat rice now at 3 months but it is really filling.
  17. I was a 9 and now can wear 8 1/2. My 9s fit better now too. I was an 8 to 8 1/2 before I gained weight so I don't expect to drop much more if at all.
  18. I tried crackers about 4 weeks out. My sleeve loves them. One of my go to lunches is lunch meat and cheese on a cracker. Less filling than bread. I limit 8 crackers since I use 2 slices of cheese cut into fours. It is about 20 to 25 grams of protein for the crackers, lunch meat and cheese.
  19. I stopped protein shakes as soon as I could eat enough to get all my protein through food. My doctor said that 5 small meals a day is fine if I couldn't get my calories and protein in 3 meals. I do sometimes feel like I am eating all the time! I don't track my cals and protein much anymore. Did it a couple months and now I can estimate pretty well on my own.
  20. I had coffee 2 weeks out and did fine. Caffeine was not restricted on my post op diet. This seems to be one of those things that each doctor is different on. I drink my coffee with fat free milk and no sugar.
  21. I was in pain where my largest incision was for about a month after surgery. It did feel like my belly was pulling on it especially if I bent over even a little bit. It got better each day so I wasn't worried. If it isn't getting better or gets worse, call your doctor for sure. I was able to control the pain with liquid Tylenol.
  22. I think you will lose more for sure. Seems like everyone hits stalls, some more than others. I stalled pretty much the entire month of April on the scale. I didn't gain anything and I dropped a pant size though so not too frustrated. How many calories are you taking in? You may want to try experimenting with raising your calories a little and see if it kicks your body into losing. If they are low it could be in starvation mode. I raised my calories last week and started losing again. Just something to consider.
  23. I had a bad hiatal hernia repaired with my sleeve. It basically cured my horrible reflux issues so I would recommend getting it fixed if it is an option. I don't know about being covered as a complication. I would ask for sure if it is covered.
  24. I agree, check with your surgeon to be sure. The bloating and cramping sounds more like a bug, but wouldn't hurt to put your mind at ease. Keep hydrated and hope it is better soon!
