Vacation
I think the traveling part would be fine if your doctor is ok with it. I agree though that with the limited food choices you will have at that time a cruise may not be the best option. I am in Texas and going to San Diego next week. I cannot wait for the 70 degree temps there! If you do book a trip it might be good to get something refundable or purchase the insurance that allows you to cancel. Just in case you don't feel up to going or in the super rare case you have a complication.

Andrew Lessman - Vitamin Help!
I had to crush pills for the first 3 weeks and then nothing bigger than a pencil eraser then on to ensure nothing gets stuck. I talked to my doctor just 2 weeks ago asking if I could take Vitamins that are not chewable or gummy and she said if they were small yes, but that my small stomach will not break down the pill as much as before so you loose some of the effectiveness. For that reason they prefer you do chewable or gummy. Most pill vitamins I have seen are way too big for our new stomachs to break down. Maybe ask you surgeon next time you see him/her about it since your nutritionist is being flaky.

Can't Stomach The Bariatric Advantage Chewable Vitamins
I switched to gummy vitamins because I could not stomach the chewables. I wasn't taking my vitamins because I hated them so much. Decided it was better to take something even if it isn't as good than nothing at all. My doctor agreed. I currently take Vitafusion Multi Vites Gummy Vitamins from Sam's Club, 4 daily. I love these!

Cream Of Wheat
I started cream of wheat in mushies. They have one called healthy grains with extra fiber and protein. My sleeve loves it. I make it with skim milk that has 12g protein in 8oz so it is 19 grams of protein for my breakfast.

Poverty, Bad Heath And No Aide!
You need to take care of yourself so you can care for your children. I agree with Dorrie, try a local food bank. You could also check around with churches in your area. Many are willing to help even those not in their congregation. Not sure the ages of your children but WIC will assist any child under 5 and pregnant and breastfeeding woman. http://www.fns.usda.gov/wic/ Can you apply for food stamps?

Feb 2012- How Are You Doing?
Quickly approaching the 4th month mark and doing great. Down from a size 22 to a 16 so I can now buy clothes from more stores which is great. My sleeve seems to like everything which is a blessing and a curse. The only thing I regrete is not getting my sleeve earlier!

Soup Question!
I think those are fine. You may need to dilute more than the can says to make it easier to eat. That will cut the fat even more. I used HEB mootopia milk fat free to up the protein too.

Drinks Out? What Are The Best Choices?
I have seen a lot of places have a skinny margaritas now and I get those often. Some are sugar free some are made with a small amount of agave nectar but they are low calorie.

How Long For Approval For Uhc? Choice Plus
I have UHC choice plus. I think it was about 2 weeks for them to get back with the approval via phone to my doctor after everything was submitted and then another week to get the written approval. I thought the whole process with them was pretty smooth and they covered everything. I had to pay my deductible and my plan has 10% co-insurance.

Not Trying To Be Grose But...
Wow that does not sound right. I hope she is working with a doctor on those issues. I am 4 months out and have not vomited once. Some people have more swelling or issues like scar tissue from old bands that make them more prone to vomiting in the beginning, but 14 months out I would think there was a serious issue with those symptoms.

This Surgery Is All I Think About
I hope everything goes well for your approval. I still have a ways to go to my goal, but I already have so much more confident and feel much better about myself. Use this time to research this and other sleeve resources so you can know everything going into it. It will help the time go by and get you as prepared as possible.

...like Beating A Dead Horse... I Know
I am a snacker too, but I am more careful of my Snacks now. I pretty much have to have a good Protein snack in the day to get my protein goal. Deli meat and cheese is my go to when home. I am a huge Jerky fan and it is a great protein snack. Also love to have a few nuts to get that crunch satisfaction! It is pretty hard to stretch your sleeve you should be fine.

Convince Me That It Will Be Worth It....
- Incisions Question - Bandaids On Or Not?
I would say leave the steristrips on but take off the bandaids. Those bandaids will just get nasty and keep too much moisture on the incisions. I had just the steristrips which eventually come off on their own. - Incisions Question - Bandaids On Or Not?
