Pain

Surgery 4/30....my left side still hurts. Walking is a task. I only feel comfortable lying down! It's like my belly fat is too heavy for the incision. I have a pulling sensation.

Should I still be in pain at this point?

I was in pain where my largest incision was for about a month after surgery. It did feel like my belly was pulling on it especially if I bent over even a little bit. It got better each day so I wasn't worried. If it isn't getting better or gets worse, call your doctor for sure. I was able to control the pain with liquid Tylenol.

I still get that "pulling" sensation from time to time. It's normal. I was in pain for about a month after surgery. The left side hurts the most, the longest, because that's where they remove your stomach. No small thing. My doc gave me a prescription for hydracodone for pain and I think I took only one. It goes away, just be sure to keep walking and get in all your fluids and protein. That's the most important thing right now.

Could you try a maternity belt to take some pressure off or compression shorts? Feel better.
